It may be only Wednesday, but that hasn’t stopped the U.S. military from racking up one of its worst weeks yet under President Joe Biden. In the span of two days, numerous stories have emerged reaffirming that the Biden Pentagon’s top priorities aren’t winning wars or taking care of personnel but injecting leftist politics into the service and funding endless overseas conflicts. From requesting U.S. taxpayer funding for neo-Marxist programs to shipping more aid to Ukraine, the revelations (sadly) represent a continuation of the military’s “reimagining” under Biden’s presidency. The Securities and Exchange Commission has abandoned the idea of monetizing America’s National Parks and public lands and selling them to whoever wanted a piece, leaving outfits elected by hedge funds to manage ‘biological diversity’, ‘health’, safety and access. Hedge funds are pirates, the least likely to care about those lands, and who knows how they would broker them off once public attention fades. It found nearly 60 percent of American “elites” think there is too much individual freedom in America. Meanwhile, nearly 60 percent of registered voters have the exact opposite opinion, reporting the United States has too much top-down control, limiting liberty.
The study from the Committee to Unleash Prosperity found ruling class opinions on climate policies were particularly harsh and despotic. More than two-thirds of the 1 percent support rationing vital energy and food sources in an attempt to control the globe’s weather.

The case, as you likely recall, arises out of an internet post written by Simberg, which Steyn quoted and added a few comments to. The two posts drew a parallel between Jerry Sandusky, the disgraced Penn State’s administration in what amounted to a cover-up. Steyn described Mann’s famous hockey stick temperature chart–accurately–as fraudulent. Mark fired his lawyer some time ago and elected to try his case pro se.

First, recognize the cause of 10/7. Although it is comforting to believe that Hamas, a specific group in a relatively small area, was the cause of 10/7, this is incorrect. The snarky among you will quickly respond that Hezb’allah and Iran were also responsible. This is also incorrect. The correct answer is that Islam was the cause of 10/7.

A local buyer taking over a struggling newspaper in the 21st century is normally cause for some celebration. But The Baltimore Sun’s newly announced owner has a very specific political background, and some are concerned about what the 187-year-old publication could become.
David D. Smith, executive chairman of the Sinclair broadcasting chain and an active contributor to conservative causes, has bought Baltimore Sun Media from the investment firm Alden Global Capital. The purchase price was not disclosed.
Smith met with Sun employees on Tuesday to talk about his plans, saying he hopes to make the newsroom more profitable. He was not made available for an interview with The Associated Press.

This bit of news actually surprises me. It doesn’t surprise me that the Hostages and Missing Families Forum would create a powerful and published public service announcement (“PSA”) highlighting what happened in Israel on October 7 and the ensuing hostage crisis. What does surprise me is that movie theaters across America, as well as Hulu (a Disney-owned company) will be showing it in the coming days as part of the trailers they routinely screen before running a picture or TV show.
The PSA is filmed to look like the trailer for an upcoming thriller or horror movie. It ends by reminding viewers that this is the real horror that Israel

The New York Times put Charles Murray on the cover of its Sunday Magazine, calling him "The Most Dangerous Conservative."
That was after he co-wrote the book, "The Bell Curve," which argued that different ethnic groups have, on average, different IQs. As Murray puts it in my video this week, "Blacks on average have a lower IQ than whites. However, whites are not at the top. East Asians, on average, have a higher IQ than whites. Ashkenazi Jews have higher IQs." Other researchers agree.

The military is reduced to accepting completely unqualified people to try to fill its quotas. My step-grandson, who served in the Marines a few years back and keeps up to date on what's going on in the armed forces, told us that instead of rejecting applicants who don't pass the intelligence test (and the criteria for passing are pretty low) they let them take it again and again, with coaching between attempts, until they pass it, just for one indication. All except the Marines, who require better applicants than the other services.
