Ford Motor Company and China’s Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. (CATL) are already cutting jobs and financial investment at an Electric Vehicle (EV) battery plant set for Marshall, Michigan.
In February, Ford announced the collaboration with CATL — China’s premier battery supplier — to build a $3.5 billion plant in the small community of Marshall that executives said would create 2,500 jobs.
A few months ago, Ford executives said they were putting the plant on pause though the company will now resume construction.
This week, Ford executives said their jobs and investment commitment are dwindling from their initial projection — cutting the number of jobs scheduled for the plant by 800 and potentially cutting

In some parts of the country, standing up for Israel is controversial, even dangerous.
On the campuses of places like Harvard, Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania, anyone who dares to wave an Israeli flag — or, increasingly, wear a kippah in public — is at risk of being assaulted by angry mobs of people with their faces covered. In Los Angeles, a pro-Israel protester was allegedly killed by a pro-Palestinian computer-science professor.
(Judge Ryan Wright slashed the prof’s bail from the original $1 million to just $50,000.)
Many parents of Jewish students are concerned, and rightly so, about their kids’ safety at these institutions.

Much of the mainstream press and denizens of establishment academia are gathering forces to present the claim that President Javier Milei will somehow crash the economy.
They hate him and they tried to stop his election, trying to paint him as a crazy man.
Now that they have failed, the next best thing is to try to stop his plan to fix the Argentinian economy, howling of doom on the horizon.
It's stupid stuff because Argentina's voters know what Milei plans to do -- and they gave him their vote because of it. They know it will work.
Milei's plan is to dollarize the economy, meaning, Argentina can do as successful

Florida governor Ron DeSantis won the endorsement of Bob Vander Plaats, an influential Evangelical conservative in Iowa and president of the Family Leader organization, on Tuesday night.
“As I’ve made my way through 98 of Iowa’s 99 counties, Iowans have shared what a critical role @bobvanderplaats plays in engaging Iowa’s faith community in the key battles that matter,” DeSantis announced on X. “His support tells Iowans they can trust me to fight and win for them. We’re thrilled to have Bob and Darla on Team DeSantis and are thankful for their friendship as we’ve gotten to know them throughout this campaign. The road to America’s revival starts in Iowa,

In an unprecedented vote early Wednesday morning, Israel’s cabinet approved an agreement to secure the release of roughly 50 hostages who were abducted into Gaza during the October 7 terror onslaught.
A government statement announcing the result of the vote did not specify how ministers voted. Despite expressing earlier opposition to the agreement, the far-right Religious Zionism party voted in favor, with only members of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s ultranationalist Otzma Yehudit faction voting against, according to Hebrew media.
Not all details of the agreement have been formally released to the public, but an Israeli government official briefing reporters on Tuesday said

Truism here: You’ve always got to watch out for the female of the species. The face presented to you does not always faithfully represent what’s going on inside the skull it’s draped over.
Take, for instance, a gamin, freckle-faced, tomboyish teen who looks so wispy a wee wind could blow her over. You could picture her at a county fair helping in the pie judging booth, or maybe she raised a champion Guernsey. Or perhaps she always rakes the leaves from your elderly neighbors’ yard for them, after she makes sure the Junior Girl Scouts selling cookies that weekend get safely across the street.
You know someone like her.
Or…I hope you don’t.

An official on Maryland’s Commission on Hate Crime Response compared Israel to Nazi Germany in a series of social-media posts and claimed that reports of Hamas murdering Jewish babies were “fake.”
Zainab Chaudry is the Maryland director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and was appointed to the hate-crime commission by Maryland attorney general Anthony Brown in August. Made up of 20 stakeholder representatives, the group is designed to “develop strategies to prevent and respond to hate crime activity and evaluate state laws and policies relating to hate crimes.” The commission’s first annual report to the General Assembly is slated for December 2024 and will detail recommendations

This is going to keep happening to American media outlets when they hire local freelancers to cover the Israel-Hamas war. Joseph Wulfsohn at Fox News reported that Marwat Al-Azza, a freelance producer in East Jerusalem for NBC News, was arrested by Israeli authorities Thursday "on suspicion of inciting terrorism and identifying with a terrorist organization." The Jerusalem Post reported Saturday that Al-Azza was taken into custody in response to her social media posts about the October 7 slaughter by Hamas. "These are very serious offenses during a time of declared war when the respondent lives and makes a living in the same country that is under attack

Billionaire Elon Musk says “X,” formerly known as Twitter, will suspend any user who calls for the genocide of Jewish communities.
“Yes, decolonization” necessarily implies a Jewish genocide, thus it is unacceptable to any reasonable person,” Musk tweeted on Nov. 15 in agreement with a tweet of editor and Manhattan Institute Fellow Colin Wright discussing the origin of the term.
Musk was responding to a comment he made earlier last week when he said that the term “decolonization” implied Jewish genocide.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has initiated an investigation into Media Matters following allegations of “potential fraudulent activity” related to its reports attacking Elon Musk’s X/Twitter.
The Texas Tribune reports that Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has opened an investigation into Media Matters, the leftist media watchdog group, for alleged “potential fraudulent activity.” This move comes in the wake of accusations by X/Twitter CEO Elon Musk, who claimed the group manipulated data on the social media platform. The controversy began after Media Matters published a report accusing X/Twitter of displaying advertisements from prominent companies next to “white nationalist hashtags.” Musk, however, contended that the watchdog group grossly misrepresented

Hamas negotiators are in the final stages of striking a deal that would include the release of at least 50 hostages in exchange for a pause in fighting, the chief of the terrorist group said on Tuesday.
Hamas leaders are “close to reaching a truce agreement” with Israel, Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said in a statement provided to Reuters. The agreement is in its “final stages” and a deal is “closer than it has ever been,” a source familiar with the negotiations told the wire service.
As part of the deal, Hamas would release at least 50 women and children who were kidnapped during the terrorist
