Anti-socialist Libertarian Party candidate Javier Milei has swept to victory in Argentina’s presidential election. Argentinians poured into the streets to celebrate the win.
Populist Milei’s election opponent, Economy Minister Sergio Massa, conceded, saying, “The results are not what we expected.” If Milei breaks the typical political mold and lives up to his promises, this could be a positive thing for Argentina, which has been a socialist mess for years. No wonder Argentinians are celebrating in the streets.
Western leftist media is freaking out, naturally, not only because Milei emphasizes the importance of the culture war and bashed leftism, but because he has peripherally made positive comments about Donald Trump.

It's the content of the subtitled X video that is one of the triggers of the "freakout."

It was such a huge victory the regular marxist conceded before they finished counting the votes. He knew there was no way they could steal. If Javier hates leftists, there's a good chance he'll be good for Argentina. He criticized both the left and the right; their parties seem similar to ours, both worthy of criticism to a high degree. Only time will tell; you can't trust any politicians these days.

#2, I agree. Time will tell but for now, he appears to be the better choice.

"Western leftist media"
Is there any other kind?
It's so sad that a century ago Argentina was number or 2 or 3 in the worlds economy. But the dreams of the socialists have turned it into 3rd world.

Not that it matters in international statecraft, but have you seen the new First Lady of Argentine, Fatima Florez? She's full grown!

Wow. I knew what Milei was saying without the subtitles. Yep, he sounds legit. Yeah, let's see what he can do. Meanwhile, in Canada, the conservative candidate running for Prime Minister, Pierre Poilievre, has also mastered the art of drawing and quartering the news media pests - play the video. I liked his apple schtick. Let's hope that he can show Trudie the door.

Maybe there is hope for the world after all. I wonder if Donald J Trump has set an example for the world to follow on how to defeat leftism.

Socialism does not work because it takes away from the sovereignty of God and places authority in government usually with little regard for God. When reading the Old Testament, people kept begging God for a king NOT realizing they had the best authority right in front of them. Socialism also takes away from the cheerful giver and that is what God wants from us - to be cheerful givers. Socialism is about power and force.

Latest Tweet from Milei:
Ahora, Donald Trump 2024
Never give the leftists a millimeter. They are evil people. Peronistas took power in 1946 and kept it on and off until now. Socialism impoverished Argentina, and our handouts to the undeserving are doing the same here.

Anti-socialist sounds great. We'll have to wait and see what this guy actually does to know how good he'll be.
Good luck to Argentina, they have had some really, really bad leaders in the past.

Argentina is lucky, OTOH, our president is merely anti-social.

Although Milei may have some good qualities (e.g., anti-Left), he has some off-beat, and rather disturbing beliefs. For example, he wants to open up the commercial market for organ transplants. I was in Argentina a few weeks ago for almost a month - it's a lovely country and Argentinians are very nice people - but commercial organ transplants in a country with crushing poverty and a 10% monthly inflation rate?!? Really?
Milei worries me, but we may be pleasantly surprised. His opponent Massa was the minister of finance who left Argentina with crushing inflation, and good riddance to him
