Harvard's embattled president is facing yet further questions about her academic record, after a statistics expert challenged the data used in a report which helped win her tenure at Stanford.
Claudine Gay, who took over as president in July, has been at the center of a firestorm since the October 7 Hamas attacks. She was seemingly slow to condemn students who justified the terrorist violence, and slow to speak out against antisemitism on campus.
The harsh spotlight has spread to her academic record, with accusations of plagiarism - and on Tuesday, a data scientist challenged her analytical methods. It was then revealed that she had refused to share her data,

An appeals court wiped out a conviction of a former Congressman after defense lawyers argued the FBI “set up” the lawmaker.
Nebraska GOP Congressman Jeff Fortenberry last year resigned from Congress after being convicted of lying to the FBI.
“Due to the difficulties of my current circumstances, I can no longer serve you effectively,” Fortenberry said in a statement.
Kevin McCarthy joined then-Speaker Pelosi and called for Fortenberry to step down last year.“I think when someone’s convicted, it’s time to resign,” McCarthy told reporters last year, according to Politico.
“Congressman Fortenberry’s conviction represents a breach of the public trust and confidence in his ability to serve. No one is above the law,” Pelosi,

A Muslim mob of pro-Palestinian militants terrorized shoppers on Christmas Eve in the small city of Collierville, Tennessee.
“You should be ashamed!” the Muslim militants shouted at shoppers as others repeatedly honked their car horns.
One KWAM listener said the Muslim militants “clogged the streets to prevent shopper ingress/egress and unleashed individual terrorists out to run up and down the sidewalks with Palestinian flags.”
As a Collierville citizen, I strongly believe and support the First and Second Amendment rights of every American citizen,” conservative leader Justin Johnson told KWAM. “Protests should not be intrusive and dangerous to drivers, shoppers or the protestors.”

Joe and Dr. Jill on Monday celebrated the joy of Kwanzaa.
Kwanzaa is a phony holiday created in 1966 by black radical Ron Everett — aka Dr. Maulana Karenga, a violent felon who tortured two naked black women.
“Deborah Jones, who once was given the Swahili title of an African queen, said she and Gail Davis were whipped with an electrical cord and beaten with a karate baton after being ordered to remove their clothes,” a 1971 Los Angeles Times article reported about Karenga’s conviction.
“To everyone celebrating, Jill and I wish you a joyous Kwanzaa,” Joe Biden said on Tuesday. “In 2024, it’s our hope that we will all remember the wisdom

“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck.”

Tom Smothers, one half of the legendary comedy duo the Smothers Brothers, has died at 86.
The late comedian died peacefully at his home on Tuesday with his family at his side following a recent battle with cancer, according to his brother and co-star Dick Smothers.
“Tom was not only the loving older brother that everyone would want in their life, he was a one-of-a-kind creative partner,” Dick said in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter on Wednesday. “I am forever grateful to have spent a lifetime together with him, on and off stage, for over 60 years. Our relationship was like a good marriage – the longer we were together,

A man who appears to be a Delta Airlines employee went viral this week on social media after he stood up to an alleged transgender activist who was upset that the man did not use his preferred pronouns.
It appears that the video was taken late last week potentially at New York-LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) given that “LGA” appears on the employee’s jacket.
The purported transgender individual in the video, who appears to be the person holding the camera, complains that he was “misgendered” because the airline employee called him a “he.”
“It wasn’t intentional, but if you want to take it personal, that’s also okay,” the employee responded.

An electric vehicle crashed and caught fire Monday night in Autauga County.
According to the Pine Level Fire Department, units were called to a traffic accident with a vehicle fire around 11:15 p.m.
(snip) There is technology that can help reduce the amount of water needed to put out an electric car fire, but the chief said it is too expensive for the volunteer fire department.
“The device that Montgomery fire department has is about $35,000. That’s over a third of my budget each year. And that’s just undoable for us right now,” he said.
Worcester discussed the lithium batteries such vehicles use, saying they can be damaged and emit toxic gases

America’s southern, and perhaps northern, border is open for business, lined with welcome mats, neon lights, and a sign flashing, “come one, come all.”
To even call the physical boundary of the United States “a border” is a miscarriage of language.
Today’s reality is that there is no national border. At least for those crossing by foot or caravan. For those attempting to enter the U.S. legally, by following the law and visa application process, it’s a nightmare of rules, delays, cost, and frustration. For those interested, read here about the bizarre labyrinth facing citizens of many countries to legally visit or transit through America. Lady Liberty doesn’t want any

Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are being slammed on social media for producing a Netflix cartoon for preschoolers that featured young children attending a gay wedding.
The popular X/Twitter account Libs of TikTok posted a video pointing out that an episode of Netflix’s Ada Twist, Scientist “showcases young students coming together to set up and celebrate their teacher’s gay wedding.”
“This is aimed at preschoolers,” Libs of TikTok said. “Barack and Michelle Obama are the executive producers.”
