Joe Biden justifiably was blasted for his callous "no comment" when asked about the rising death toll in the Maui wildfire on Sunday. Then Biden finally spoke publicly for the first time on Tuesday about the fire, saying that he intended to go to Hawaii. But then he couldn't seem to get the affected area straight, seemingly forgetting that it was Maui. That also doesn't help people think that he's focused or cares about what's going on.
You would think perhaps he'd learned his lesson. But this is Joe Biden, who keeps repeating the same false stories over and over again.

Once the death toll is finally tallied and the extent of the damages is assessed, there will be investigations into the Maui wildfires. At least, there should be, due to the revelations that the bureaucrats tasked with managing disasters were absolute garbage at their jobs. The island suffered massive brushfires that killed at least 100 people last week. Over 1,000 people are still missing, and whole communities have been destroyed. The damage currently stands at $6 billion, but that’s subject to change, making this one of the deadliest wildfires in over a century.

Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley gave a warning to criminals coming from Memphis that should they commit crimes in his jurisdiction, they are going to spend time in jail.
He made his comments after a smash-and-grab robbery at a liquor store, where the thieves break the glass door and steal thousands of dollars in booze.
"It was just a matter of time. When knew it's been coming out of Memphis. We've had three break-ins in Tipton County recently. They look like Memphis-style break-ins and, of course, there's no consequences to breaking in," Judson Naifeh told WREG.

Former President Donald Trump is dropping a new report on the reported election fraud during the 2020 election. It’ll be around 100 pages, released next Monday morning in Bedminster, New Jersey. Trump described the findings as “conclusive” and “irrefutable.” It doesn’t matter because the Left is going to go apoplectic, especially given the recent indictments against the former president (via NYT):
Hours after former President Donald J. Trump was indicted in Georgia on charges accusing him of a conspiracy to subvert the 2020 election, his aides and allies awoke to a social-media post from the Republican front-runner inviting people to a news conference on Monday.

The Left has a litmus test to participate in their society. You must pass tests to make a living, lest you be subjected to cancellation due to the unhinged policing of woke mobs. And these protocols are enforced with authoritarian tenacity. It used to be contained in niche businesses, like weddings, where the cake wars worked their way to the Supreme Court not long ago. Being a gun owner now subjects certain Americans to intrusive searches by the FBI, with their personal banking information being handed over to the feds by banks.

Nothing defines the disastrous Biden presidency more than the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. It’s been two years since that watershed moment, which sent Joe Biden’s approval ratings underwater for the first time in his presidency, and that’s where they have remained ever since.
Biden, desperate for a 9/11 anniversary photo op, ignored the advice of his military advisors and lied about the situation on the ground in order to push ahead with a withdrawal that quickly descended into chaos, left 13 U.S. service members dead, and resulted in the government falling, the Taliban taking over, and billions in military equipment and weapons abandoned.

One of my favorite movies is “Jaws.” In fact, it is the only movie I can quote from memory, and I can even recite the dialogue on the screen in real time. One of the stories about that film is that the massive mechanical shark would not function during filming. Richard Dreyfuss has talked about how radios would crackle all over Martha’s Vineyard with the words, “The shark is not working. Repeat, the shark is not working.”
It’s time for Californians to admit that the donkey is not working. Repeat, the donkey is not working.

Monday’s indictment of Donald Trump in Fulton County, Ga., was just the latest in a long line of legal troubles for the former president. District Attorney Fani Willis announced the charges at a late-night press conference with an intensity that bordered on vehemence.
Willis and Fulton County Sheriff Pat Labat have relished their chance to get their man. Labat told reporters that the county would “have mugshots ready” for Trump and presumably the other 18 defendants in the indictment. There’s no doubt that Willis and Labat are milking this indictment for all its worth.

In the Democrat tradition of never letting a crisis go to waste, Oprah Winfrey demonstrated her lack of understanding of the Aloha spirit.
In Maui, she showed up at the War Memorial Stadium, an open-air structure now housing 1,000 refugees from the Lahaina fire, and passed out pillows, diapers, and other items she purchased from Costco and Walmart.
That was good.
What was not good was when she returned three days later with a CBS camera crew and wanted to tape the grief. To her surprise, she was turned away. Local camera crews were sitting outside the stadium, unable to go in,

The pair of 7-Eleven employees in California who recently thrashed and held down a suspect in their store are not in danger of facing charges.
The workers took matters into their own hands when a man allegedly tried to steal cigarettes from behind the counter, Fox 11 reported Wednesday.
However, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday the employees were not in trouble.
In a statement, District Attorney Ron Freitas said, “The Stockton 7-11 Store Clerks are not & have never been, suspects of the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.” [Tweet]
“Any Investigation going forward is to hold accountable the individual who threatened & attempted to rob them.

Joe Biden’s swing through Arizona and New Mexico to push his climate change agenda and “Bidenomics” has not gone well so far.
As we noted, he designated a new monument which is raising a lot of questions about whether this move will harm our national security. His move also helps the Russians by cutting off our ability to develop uranium deposits within the ambit of the land blocked off by the national monument. The land in question is almost a million acres, including land far away from the Grand Canyon, the area the new monument designation was supposed to protect.

As RedState reported, a Sikh convenience store owner turned the tables on a shoplifter as he attempted to get away with thousands of dollars of stolen merchandise.
The viral scene unfolded in California, showing a man shoveling entire shelves worth of tobacco and other products into a trash can while taunting the owner with proclamations that “there’s nothing you can do.” The shoplifter quickly learned that wasn’t true, though, as he was tackled to the ground and beaten with a rod. Apparently, while many California cities have no desire to actually enforce the laws against people who steal from business owners and put them in financial peril,
