Many people said it was likely to happen and indeed it has. Vivek Ramaswamy has now overtaken Ron DeSantis to become the top loser to Donald Trump in the GOP primary race. According to a Kaplan Strategies poll [LINK HERE] Ron DeSantis has now dropped to third place inthe presidential preference polling. (snip)Despite DeSantis’ favorable rating of 59 percent amongst GOP voters, Kaplan suggests that Ramaswamy may have the potential for a higher ceiling, as he is less well-known amongst Republican voters, with a 27 percent Uncertain rate.

De Santis allowed his supersize ego to cause him to make a really stupid decision.]
If he drops out now - - and enthusiastically supports the man who made him - - President Trump - - maybe I'll forgive him. Maybe.

Sometimes i think i don’t understand US politics at all. Apparently the desantis team doesn’t either.
I have concluded that we all know that there is a (soft) coup going on in the legal and political system and the media. Nothing else matters. Trump is the target and politicians that think it’s business as usual have missed the forest.
People who think “sure there was this series of events that were coup like, but we just need somebody who’s a little more disciplined than Trump” are saying that we need to ignore what the Dims did and move forward. No.
I think we are in hang together or hang separately mode now.
Desantis has taken an unserious path in this foundational morass.

All he had to do was wait.
I don't know who encouraged him to toss his hat in the ring but it was a bad decision.

Vivek explained the Evil 1's connection. It was a scholarship that he got from Spooky Dude's brother for law school, whom he never met or had anything to do with.

Maybe he can get Jeb to campaign for him.
Apologies for the snark. I was a big fan of DeSantis until he decided to run for President at this time. For all the reasons in #3 excellent post.

I roo have concerns about Vivek. As for RDS, I don’t believe he ever knew that he was to keep PDJT out. His ‘supporters” weren’t so much FOR him as they were AGAINST PDJT. He is looking weak as a campaigner so the “supporters” are taking a second look at their “investment”, too much of which has been blown on things that just didn’t work.
It’s very hard to reset a campaign that isn’t working. And a candidate who has been authentic from Day One shouldn’t need a makeover only a few months into his official campaign.
I once thought then-Rep. DeSantis might be a possible future presidential candidate. He has proven me wrong.

So does this mean that Trump will now criticize Vivek since he is ahead of DeSantis in this poll?

When did presidential candidates not criticize their opponents? Highlight flaws, differences, etc.?
Anti-Trumpers always want to set up anti-Trump rules… Remembered well from way back in 2016...

While I don’t believe he is viable vs. Trump, he is a smart and articulate young man, who has a future in our movement. He has, in my mind, truthfully refuted all affiliations with Soros and WEF. Which led me to ponder if the radical groups are actively targeting potential highly attractive conservatives by associating them with their unpalatable brand. Just asking for a friend…

Ramasmarmy can explain all he likes but anybody who received money through George Soros, no matter how remotely, is owned by George Soros. I firmly believe Soros money was behind Obama's rise from nothing and nowhere. Tweedledee can prove it's not true by releasing all of his records, his high school and college history and campaign contribution records. Too many of his own family members contradict his lies.

I thought Ron had good political instincts and then he embraced the dumbest advisors since Jeb! That shows a serious lack of common sense or understanding of what is happening outside the urban no go zones. He has a lot of work to do to get to normal.

Scorched earth techniques are still in style, I see. Just wish Sundance would use the same critical analysis on all candidates or admit he's in the corner for Trump. Stop trying to act impartial. He's not.

2024 is up for grabs.
Trump is getting buried under indictments.
DeSantis can't seem to play in the big leagues.
Remember, Obama came out of nowhere in 2008.

The Kaplan Poll Is a Democrat poll that also had DeSantis losing to Nicki Fried in the 2022 Florida governor's poll.

No. 2, I respectfully ask if DeSantis is the Republican nominee, will you vote for him? Or, would you vote for Biden since in that scenario DeSantis would not have earned your "forgiveness"? If his Ego offends you, how can you countenance Trump's?
I voted for Trump twice, and will again if he is nominated. But he is not/was not a King and has no Divine Right to the nomination. In my opinion DeSantis is far more electable - and this is why I think the Democrat establishment is eager to run against Trump (and I believe his legal persecution is in part intended to assure him the nomination), and happy to help drive down DeSantis's polling numbers.
Trump's election in 2016 was a (fortunate, for the country) one-off, and he did many good things as president. But DeSantis with 2 terms can be a far better president. Have you read his detailed plan to un-woke and restore the military? Have you followed his fight against the radical Gay/Trans Agenda, or the Critical-Race Hustlers? You don't need to renounce your support of Trump, but condemning DeSantis or any other challenger based on the assumption that Trump is entitled to the nomination without opposition is just plain wrong. Cheers.

I have a question about Vivek. Did he come up with a plan to register on a data base everyone in the country who had had the Covid shot? Any truth to this?
Here in Idaho our Governor (Chicken) Little in 2020 wanted to do that.

If we destroy DeSantis now, what are we going to do in his so-called 2018 bid? As for a pic as DJT's VP DeS could be poisoned. Why are we doing this to ourselves?
I'd like to see how where some posters are from. We're prospering here in FL: no mandates, no CRT in the schools, and sales tax holidays.... I'm still voting for DJT, but don't kill off our bench this early.

Please read #24. A cogent and we’ll spoken post confirming that most of us would put Trump back in the WH if we could. However there are serious storms brewing; multiple indictments in play, polls consistently showing a large numbers of women, Independents, and undecided voters Hate Trump. Truth is, not withstanding this echo chamber’s strong beliefs, Trump may not be electable.
And, if Trump and CTH were team players for our cause, they would not be salting the earth with sophomoric, unproven personal attacks against Trump’s rivals. Instead, talk policy and solutions for the current sad state of the country. , BTW, DeSantis is far better than the rest of the field at this strategy. “We’re eating our own!”

Ramaswany is an interesting character...but I agree with poster #1...I don't like his ties to soros' machine...it could be troubling for him...and where's Crispy Cream Christi in the polling...he's all about integrity and the American way...that's why he stopped traffic on the bridge between New York and New Jersey...when the mayor of the small town wouldn't endorse him...yeah...a real politician...so let's here him rail at President Trump...who really does love WE the people...not a phony like Crispy Creme .....

DeSantis has made a very large mistake. He should have waited until 2028. I don't know whose idea this was but I bet it had a lot to do with some swamp creatures like Rove and the Bush gang. He was not ready for the national stage and unfortunately his wife has upstaged him. He needs to bow out gracefully and go back to Florida and do the job that he is now ignoring. Unfortunately if he waits much longer he will return to Florida in a very weakened state.

Sorry ( well, not really ) but I simply don't trust Ramaswamy.
The Obama pattern is being woven again.
Someone who most have never heard of, comes out late, has some questionable connections, has a
good voice and speaking/stage presence and says ALL THE 'RIGHT' THINGS to the 'right groups'.
Starting to sound familiar ? it sure does to me. I'll pass. Besides ALL of this is fluff / herring / kabuki call
it what you will but it is all meaningless UNLESS the 'voting machine syndrome' is 'corrected' !
