Twitter, the social media platform that has boasted free speech protections since coming under the control of Elon Musk, has suspended the account of Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò. On Saturday afternoon, word began to spread of the incident with followers demanding an explanation from owner Elon Musk and calling for reinstatement of the account. The account is labeled “suspended” and all posts hidden, an action which Viganò described to LifeSiteNews’ John-Henry Westen as “shameful.”(Snip)Comments left under posts regarding the suspension express dismay at the incident and call on Musk to investigate the reason behind it and reinstate the account.

The Democratic Party generally — and President Biden specifically — have a profound problem: At home and abroad, seemingly everyone is mad at the American president, with severe consequences for American influence around the world.
Domestically, despite cooling inflation, just 30% of Americans say they agree with Democrats’ economic policy, while 42% prefer the Republicans’ approach. With the economy consistently ranking as the most important issue for voters, Americans’ pessimism — coupled with Biden’s consistently low approval ratings on the economy — figures to be a considerable problem as he seeks a second term.
Moreover, Hispanic voters — a critical Democratic constituency — are angry at the perceived leftward shift

Former President Donald Trump will call on Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) to “get back” to Florida and “do the job he was elected to do,” during his keynote address at the Turning Point Action Conference in West Palm Beach, Florida, according to prepared remarks obtained by Breitbart News.
“It is time for Ron DeSanctus to get back here and do the job he was elected to do—be the Governor of FLORIDA,” Trump’s prepared remarks say. “He’s got to get home and take care of business.” Trump will urge DeSantis to return to Florida to address the home and car insurance crisis affecting the state.

House Democrats are on a crusade to destroy the reputation of whistleblowers to save President Joe Biden and to run cover for those in the Justice Department and FBI who obstructed the investigation into the Bidens’ business dealings. But Republicans are starting to fight back.
Kash Patel, who served as chief of staff to the acting secretary of defense under President Trump and as the senior counsel for the House Intelligence Committee under then-Rep. Devin Nunes, launched the counteroffensive on Wednesday when his attorney filed an ethics complaint against Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., and simultaneously sent a referral to the Department of Justice.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol made a surprise visit to Ukraine on Saturday, offering support for the invaded country in its war with Russia while demonstrating his own nation’s cooperation with NATO.
Yoon’s office said he traveled to Ukraine with his wife, Kim Keon Hee, following trips to Lithuania for a NATO summit and to Poland. It’s his first visit since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
Yoon toured Bucha and Irpin, two small cities near Kyiv where bodies of civilians were found in the streets and mass graves after Russian troops retreated from the capital region last year.

The Florida governor and 2024 contender praised Kim Reynolds while campaigning in the early-voting state of Iowa. He called Trump's attacks on Reynolds "totally out of hand."Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Saturday he would consider Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds as a possible vice president pick.
DeSantis was quick to praise Reynolds throughout his two-day Iowa swing, drawing frequent comparisons between her leadership in Iowa and his tenure in Florida.
That's not a new strategy for the DeSantis campaign — but it took on new weight this weekend, as frontrunner Donald Trump on Monday attacked Reynolds for her decision to remain neutral in the caucuses.

Look, you can call it a mistake if you want — I have no doubt the fact-checkers are working overtime to make it clear it was a “gaffe” — but Kamala Harris did say it. I’m honestly not sure if it was a Freudian slip or just a case of saying the quiet part out loud. But during a speech on climate change on Friday, the nation’s historically unpopular vice president said we need to “reduce population.”
“When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles and reduce population, more of our children can breath clean air and drink clean water,” Harris said during her speech in Maryland.

Likely Green Party presidential candidate Cornel West ripped President Biden’s record on race issues, calling the Democrat’s history with black Americans nothing short of a “crime against humanity,” in an exclusive interview with The Post.
West, 70, accused Biden of spurring mass incarceration among minorities because of the tough-on-crime federal Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act Biden sponsored as a senator in 1994. The bill authorized the hiring of 100,000 new police officers and allocated $9.7 billion for prisons.

But the present nightmare is no dream, and things are only getting worse in America.

In mid-February, we reported that Fulton County (Georgia) Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney ordered a limited release of excerpts from a special grand jury’s report on former President Donald Trump and his associates’ alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election in Georgia:
The probe’s objective was to look into Trump’s alleged attempts to overturn the result of the 2020 presidential election in the Peach State. The report was scant on details, but in one section, jurors expressed concerns over perjury on the part of some of the witnesses.
Later that month, Bonchie wrote about Emily Kohrs, a member of that special grand jury, giving interviews to NBC News and CNN.

Iowa was, for a long time, a political swing state. Speaking as one who grew up there and lived there until my 26th year, and most of whose family still lives in Iowa, I can say with some confidence that Iowa is a place of great momentum. In small towns and rural areas like the one I grew up in, not much changes from generation to generation. Not industries, not farming practices, not families. But Iowa is an important state politically, mostly due to its status as the opening bell for presidential primaries. Polls repeatedly show that voters don’t want a rematch of President Biden versus former President Donald Trump in 2024.
Republicans are going through a formal primary process to determine their nominee. GOP voters support Mr. Trump’s nomination in early polling by more than 20 percentage points.
Democratic voters are not getting the same choice. Establishment Democrats have chosen to coronate Mr. Biden as their nominee — eliminating debates and an open primary process even with Robert F. The Left is big on de-escalation of conflict. They insist on talk rather than action to address rioting, theft, and even violent assault. The one place where they will not use it is in politics. De-escalation of political conflict would require them to do something they are loath to -- debate ideas. The left is instead attacking our right to speech.
Try disagreeing with any element of leftist orthodoxy and see what happens. Challenging any of their core positions will not be met with robust debate, but with insults, cancellation, and even physical attack. Challenge them on:
Climate change -- you’re a denier.
Trans grooming of children -- you’re a homophobe.
Affirmative action

Joe Biden’s dementia is rapidly advancing and the nation is in great peril. Proof of his decline came in a creep moment during his brief visit to Helsinki, where he assaulted (that is the proper word) a child, a little girl who happened to attract his eye in a crowd.
He walked over to her, put his mouth on her back and appeared to rapidly flick his tongue on her, through the fabric of her dress. Watch his jaw move up and down rapidly [Twitter video] (snip) It’s time to badger Biden’s cabinet with demands that they invoke the 25th and spare the nation the risk it faces.

Minnesota Management and Budget Commissioner Jim Schowalter might need a chiropractor to help him with the budget whiplash he’s witnessed during two stints in the job. First under DFL Governor Mark Dayton when he had to help solve a $6.2 billion budget deficit and then under DFL Governor Tim Walz when he helped craft a plan to spend or give back nearly $18 billion.

The Republican National Committee cried foul Friday after CNN cut references to Hunter Biden’s laptop and the “spies who lie” letter meant to discredit it from an interview clip of RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
Anchor Chris Wallace was pressing McDaniel about the integrity of the 2020 election result, but the network edited out her remarks about the social media suppression of The Post’s bombshell reporting on the first son when Wallace asked about how “fair” she thought the process was.

Word emerged the other day that Ray Epps is finally about to be charged for events on January 6, 2021. Sharp-eyed media consumers instantly noticed that, with this news, the mainstream media moved in unison to redefine their previous characterization of events on that day.
Since the day Joe Biden took office, the administration has spent an inordinate amount of time, energy, and money to arrest and prosecute every random grandmother who took a picture inside the Capitol on January 6, ignoring the fact that Capitol police welcomed many into the building.
The administration has also savaged the constitutional rights of some of those arrested by locking them up without bail

The largest consumer bankruptcy law firm in Illinois and one of the biggest in the country has filed for bankruptcy after taking millions in taxpayer-backed loans meant to help struggling businesses survive the pandemic.
The Semrad Law Firm LLC, which markets itself as DebtStoppers, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on April 26 in Delaware, blaming the COVID-19 pandemic.
A Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows a company to reorganize under a judge’s supervision and keep operating while paying creditors at least part of what they’re owed.

I use the phrase “Judeo-Christian.” When I use it in a published piece, at least one disgruntled reader will shoot me a grumble of protest. “Judeo-Christian” is a controversial phrase. Since it raises hackles, why do I use it?
First, let’s look at the controversy. “Judeo-Christian” is so controversial that a 368-page scholarly book has been written about the history and usage of the phrase. Chicago University Press went so far as to call it “dangerous” and a “linguistic battlefield.” I guess that makes those of us who use the phrase warriors. Professor Mark Silk suggests that the phrase is “neo-fascist.” Others call it a “dog whistle myth

It’s the logo that Costco shoppers dread: when the “Death Star” appears next to their favorite item, indicating that the discount retail giant won’t restock once current inventory has sold out. Just this year, the Death Star has appeared on Filthy brand blue cheese olives, Kinder’s organic toasted onion dip mix, and Jonny Pops chocolate dipped strawberry pops.
Now the Death Star has been spotted adorning the price signs for Bud Light, which was the most popular beer in America back in the olden days of […checks notes…] a couple months ago.
If you think that’s a bad sign for Bud Light sales, you’re wrong. It’s much, much worse.

During a scandal, it’s never a good look when an organization’s defense can be summarized as, “We’re not corrupt, we’re incompetent!” Yet, that’s exactly where the Secret Service finds itself after concluding its cocaine investigation that yielded zero leads.
Somehow, in “the most secure building in the entire world,” with an annual budget of about $3 billion and roughly 8,000 employees, per fiscal 2023 levels, the Secret Service cannot figure out who left that baggie of booger sugar. Fingerprints are impossible to obtain for some reason and video footage is apparently inadequate. So, how it snowed in July in Washington, D.C. will remain a mystery.

John Kirby of the Biden administration defended woke policies in the U.S. Military on Friday, saying that Biden absolutely believes that diversity, equity and inclusion is important in the armed services.
Every branch of the military has been struggling with recruiting in recent years and this might be one of the reasons why.
The military is not supposed to be a lab for social engineering.
FOX News reports:Kirby claims anti-woke defense bill puts troops, military readiness at ‘greater risk’. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby claimed that the left-wing policies Republican lawmakers condemn are actually essential for military readiness Friday.

Nearly 50 Democrats issued a rebuke of President Biden's plan to send cluster munitions to Ukraine by voting for an amendment by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to ban the practice.
The amendment, which was supported by 49 Democrats and 98 Republicans, ultimately failed to make its way into the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), but proved opposition - and support - for the indiscriminate bombs transcends party lines.
The Democrats included Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, N.Y., Maxwell Frost, Fla., Cori Bush, Mo., Greg Casar, Texas, Pramila Jayapal, Wash., and Jamaal Bowman, N.Y.

During a portion of an interview set to air on Sunday’s broadcast of the Fox Business Network’s “Sunday Morning Futures” that was aired on Friday’s broadcast of FBN’s “Mornings with Maria,” 2024 presidential candidate former President Donald Trump stated that “it probably was” a mistake for him to nominate Christopher Wray to be FBI Director during his term and Wray “was recommended very strongly” by 2024 GOP rival former New Jersey Gov. Threads, the new social media platform launched by Mark Zuckerberg as a rival to Twitter, has experienced a significant drop in user engagement and growth following a record-breaking debut. Analysts have published data showing a 25 percent dropoff in daily users and a 50 percent drop in the time spent on Facebook’s latest platform. Elon Musk has been quick to use his own Twitter platform to point out that Zuckerberg’s Twitter clone appears to be faltering.
