The U.S. Federal Trade Commission cannot stop Microsoft’s proposed $69 billion purchase of Activision Blizzard, a California judged ruled on Tuesday.
The deal was originally announced 17 months ago and can now move forward by the July 18, deadline. In her ruling, Judge Jacqueline Scott Corley said, "Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision has been described as the largest in tech history," and "it deserves scrutiny." "Microsoft has committed in writing, in public, and in court to keep Call of Duty on PlayStation for 10 years on parity with Xbox," she continued. "It made an agreement with Nintendo to bring Call of Duty to Switch. And it entered several agreements

A 27-page report released on Monday by the House Judiciary Committee revealed more alleged social media censorship from the Biden administration, this time in a concerning collaboration between the FBI and the Ukrainian spy agency the SBU to go after and flag U.S. social media accounts, including multiple journalists and even a U.S. State Department account.
The FBI was essentially doing the bidding of a foreign spy agency, according to the report, which should concern everyone. The report was based on subpoenaed documents.
“Although the SBU’s lists contained American accounts, neither the FBI nor Meta appeared to raise concerns about the provenance of the SBU’s ‘disinformation’ registries. Instead,

If something is falling apart but wants to stay afloat, it's usually a pretty right time for making some changes.
Which brings us to Hollywood, where Power Line attorney and writer John Hinderaker has found some good observations:
Like most of corporate America, Hollywood has fallen prey to the “DEI” delusion in recent years. Far from being a good thing, corporate “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion” measures generally represent a poisonous brew of racism, leftism and anti-Americanism. The sooner this fad fades from the scene, the better.
In the Telegraph, U.S. Editor Nick Allen sees signs that the entertainment industry is moving back toward sanity:
Hollywood is suffering “diversity fatigue”,

Has the Republican presidential nomination contest finished before it started? That narrative has gripped the traditional media of late, with constant references to stagnant national polling. Does that mean that DeSantis has utterly failed in his attempt at the nomination and that his campaign is near collapse as a result?
Even conservative media outlets have concluded that DeSantis has flopped so far and that the issue has already become existential. Daniel Flynn warns at the American Spectator that DeSantis will need a John McCain-esque comeback now:
Does Ron DeSantis want to be the nominee? From the disastrous online launch met with technical difficulties to the ill-advised ad attacking Donald Trump for basically

Experts say conservative network Fox News could face a “a fairly strong” lawsuit from a man who Tucker Carlson repeatedly accused of working as a government agent and carrying out the January 6 insurrection.
Carlson, who was fired from the network in April, repeatedly alleged that Ray Epps was a secret government agent who coordinated the January 6 riots, the New York Times reported. Epps, a Trump supporter and former marine, has been at the center of a far-right conspiracy theory after an article by a rightwing website argued that he was spared from criminal charges because of his covert role. Carlson and other rightwing figures, including

Honduran drug dealers have made a business hub out of San Francisco due to the progressive city’s sanctuary laws for illegal immigration, fueling the nation’s fentanyl epidemic and the visible decline of a major American city.
San Francisco’s accommodative approach to illegal immigration makes it appealing to sell there, Honduran dealers told the San Francisco Chronicle as part of an in-depth investigation into how Honduran nationals have come to play a dominant role in the city’s drug crisis.
Under current San Francisco law, last amended in July 2016, city employees are forbidden from using city resources to cooperate with any ICE investigation, detention, or arrest relating to an illegal immigration case.

Former Vice President Mike Pence remains committed to doling out military aid for Ukraine against Russia’s invasion if he wins the presidency in 2024. He isn’t very good at explaining why voters should agree with him.
The Associated Press interviewed Pence about the “call for limited military assistance to Ukraine” from former President Donald Trump and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL), his top GOP rivals. “With all due respect,” he said, “I think the former president and the governor of Florida just don’t understand Americans’ national interest in supporting the Ukrainian military in repelling the Russian military in Ukraine.”

Turkey has agreed to support Sweden's bid to join the NATO military alliance after a year of opposition, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on Monday. He called the moment a "historic step."
Turkey President Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to send the accession protocol to the Turkish parliament for approval as soon as possible, the NATO chief said, noting that Erdogan would "ensure ratification." “Sweden will become a full member of the alliance,” Stoltenberg said. The news comes after Stoltenberg held talks between Erdogan and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson the evening before the NATO summit was slated to begin in Vilnius,

The New York Times announced that it would shutter its sports desk and shift the coverage it provided over to The Athletic on Monday.
Executive editor Joe Kahn and deputy managing editor Monica Drake explained in an email to the paper’s staff that the Times plans “to focus even more directly on distinctive, high-impact news and enterprise journalism about how sports intersect with money, power, culture, politics and society at large,” with less “coverage of games, players, teams and leagues.”
Coverage of sports will now be relegated to The Athletic,

Prigozhin and other members of Wagner did not comment publicly on the meeting and the Kremlin's version of events couldn't be confirmed.

Caviezel portrays Tim Ballard, a federal agent who rescues a boy from captivity in South America, only to discover that his sister has been left behind. The rest of the film focuses on the mission to get her out of the country. One reason the Left is having conniption fits is because the film is building not only awareness about child trafficking

“Sound of Freedom,” a religious thriller led by “The Passion of the Christ” star Jim Caviezel, is becoming an unlikely box office savior. The faith-based movie about child sex trafficking has collected an impressive $40 million after six days of release.
Angel Studios opened “Sound of Freedom” last Tuesday, generating a mighty $14.2 million on Independence Day. The film picked up another $18.2 million between Friday and Sunday, enough to place third on domestic box office charts behind “Insidious: The Red Door” ($32.6 million) and “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” ($26.5 million). It’s also playing in 2,850 North American theaters — a smaller footprint
