DES MOINES, Iowa — Former Vice President Mike Pence, who certified the 2020 election results under threat from supporters of then-President Donald Trump, kicked off a bid for the Oval Office on Wednesday. On his 64th birthday, Pence, the former Indiana governor and six-term congressman, released a launch video taking whacks at President Joe Biden by name and Trump by implication. "President Joe Biden and the radical left have weakened America at home and abroad," Pence says in a self-narrated 2½-minute montage of Americana. "We can turn this country around. But different times call for different leadership." Turning more squarely toward the oft-spiteful Trump, Pence adds, "Today, our party and our

Mike Pence reminds me of the story of a Democrat radio program for FDR in 1940. The comedian, Georgie Jessel was the MC and was supposed to have 5 minutes at the end of the show for his remarks. As it went, all the speakers went over their time and Jessel had less than 30 seconds to wrap up. Here's what he said: Tonight, you heard from my friends why Wendall Wilkie (FDR's Republican opponent) is not fit to be President. I will not do that. I know Wendell Wilkie. Wendell Wilkie is a fine man. So is my Uncle Chester. Uncle Chester should not be President of the United States. Neither should Wendell Wilkie. Thank you and good night.

"When Esther’s words were reported to Mordecai, he sent back this answer: 'Do not think that because you are in the king’s house you alone of all the Jews will escape. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?'” I believe that Pence was placed in office "for such a time as this" to save the American people from the coup. But now if God wills our deliverance "will arise from another place" and Pence will go down as one of the great cowards of history.

As RedState reported (and as prior reports indicated), Donald Trump was indicted for a second time on Thursday, this time by the DOJ for alleged violations of the Espionage Act. That relates to documents that he took with him after leaving the White House. The government’s chief piece of evidence is reportedly a tape of Trump discussing a national security document with Mark Meadows and his staffers during a Q and A for a book. The DOJ is accusing the former president of admitting on the tape that he knew the document was still classified. Jack Smith and his team of prosecutors are going to attempt to undercut Trump’s primary defense,

Fewer (33%) approve of colleges considering race and ethnicity to increase diversity at the schools, while 16% are not sure. With the court nearing the end of its term and decisions in two related cases involving the private Harvard College and the public University of North Carolina expected

The recruiting crisis within the U.S. military is a very real thing, and while senior military leaders and “military experts” have been putting the blame squarely on young people, all signs point to the bigger issue boiling down primarily to one thing: the federal government’s dangerous obsession with all things woke. And when I say “dangerous,” I’m not engaging in hyperbole. My RedState colleague streiff explained it well in a recent post: The fact is that the military has become a hostile work environment for straight, white, conservative males who have historically been the demographic most likely to enlist. The Air Force has said it has too many white pilots,

Gallup’s latest Values and Beliefs Survey said that conservatives top liberals on social policies and the economy, the two biggest topics America is grappling with. “For most of the past eight years, Americans were about as likely to say they were liberal as conservative on social issues. This year, there is a more obvious conservative advantage,” said the nation’s biggest pollster on Thursday. “The shift is mostly due to increasing social conservatism among Republicans

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a surprising ruling in favor of Black voters in a congressional redistricting case, ordering the creation of a second district with a large Black population. Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kavanaugh joined with the court's liberals in affirming a lower-court ruling that found a likely violation of the Voting Rights Act in an Alabama congressional map with one majority Black seat out of seven congressional districts in a state where more than one in four residents is Black. The case had been closely watched for its potential to weaken the landmark voting rights law.
