2,600 people at $15/hr is $39,000 per hour. Anticipating 1,000 hrs per campaign worker, that’s $39 million. At $25/hr that’s $65 million. At $40/hr that’s $104 million.
This is the scale of spending that Ken Cuccinelli and Jeff Roe have for the Never Back Down SuperPAC to support Governor Ron DeSantis in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada on behalf of the Sea Island billionaires who want to manipulate the 2024 election. That’s just payroll for new hires.Overall, the New York Times is reporting a campaign support spending plan of more than $200 million. (snip)The context of the New York Times report sounds accurate.

Research journals have withdrawn well over 300 articles on COVID-19 due to compromised ethical standards and concerns about the publications’ scientific validity.
Retraction Watch has provided a running list of withdrawn papers on COVID-19 ranging from “Acute kidney injury associated with COVID-19” to “Can Your AI Differentiate Cats from COVID-19?”

During the pandemic, researchers have compromised on ethical standards and tried to either get more publications approved or to take shortcuts around ethics, senior researcher Gunnveig Grødeland at the Institute of Immunology at the University of Oslo says, after going through the list of articles that have been withdrawn, and the reasons for some

Last week, I worked with a whistleblower to expose the child sex-change program at Texas Children’s Hospital. Executives had promised to stop such procedures, but, as the medical records demonstrate, this was not done—doctors secretly continued to provide puberty blockers and other hormones to children between the ages of 11 and 17.
Within days of the story’s publication, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton launched an official investigation, saying that “children are not to be treated as science experiments.” And state legislators secured the votes to pass a bipartisan bill, SB 14, that would outlaw all so-called “gender-affirming care” for minors.
Now, a new whistleblower has come forward with allegations against Dr. Richard

The mother of Brian Laundrie, the man who killed his fiancée, Gabby Petito, and later himself in 2021, wrote to her son saying she would help him “dispose of a body” or “bake a cake with a file in it” to help him in jail, according to a copy of the undated letter obtained by CNN.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy isn’t the only one demanding more military assistance from Joe Biden to protect Kiev from Russian forces. So, too, is a close Biden friend and financial backer, who owns several luxury car dealerships around the Ukrainian capital.
By sending billions of dollars in weapons and other military aid to help defend Ukraine, Biden also is securing the investments of millionaire car magnate John Hynansky, a Ukrainian American and longtime supporter of the president.
Over the course of Biden’s political career, Hynansky and his family have contributed more than $100,000 to his campaigns (snip) floated hundreds of thousands of dollars in loans to

The Russian military reportedly shot down two British-supplied Storm Shadow cruise missiles over the past 24 hours, as the Kremlin condemned the “Anglo-Saxon” support of Ukraine’s war effort.
Russia’s Ministry of Defence on Saturday claimed to have shot down two UK Storm Shadow cruise missiles fired by Ukrainian forces over the previous day.
Moscow also claimed that its air defence systems had also destroyed “12 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine” during the same time frame, Russian state-owned domestic news agency RIA reported.
“Air defence equipment intercepted two Storm Shadow long-range cruise missiles, 19 HIMARS multiple rockets and two HARM anti-radar missiles,” the department said.

Former President Donald Trump made a late play Saturday to stop the Texas House’s push to impeach Attorney General Ken Paxton, blasting it as “ELECTION INTERFERENCE.”
With less than half an hour until the House was set to consider Paxton’s impeachment, Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to blast the effort.
“The RINO Speaker of the House of Texas, Dade Phelan, who is barely a Republican at all and failed the test on voter integrity, wants to impeach one of the most hard working and effective Attorney Generals in the United States, Ken Paxton, who just won re-election with a large number of American Patriots strongly voting for him,”

Last night I participated in a conversation. This article is written as an outcome of that conversation, as requested by those who participated. (snip)
In various forms they were asking each other the same question. What happened in the last several years that caused Democrats, leftists and the traditional political left to switch positions on their advocacy?
Liberalism literally went from railing against Big Govt, to embracing corrupt Big Govt. Why and how did this happen?
In short, it was the same line of questioning I have seen asked by Tucker Carlson, Glenn Greenwald, Tulsi Gabbard and various traditionally liberal people as well as people on the right side of the continuum.

According to Florida lobbyists, they have been contacted by state employees with instructions to send payments to the campaign of Ron DeSantis. The ethical problems within this effort are numerous and could potentially be legally liable for DeSantis government officials participating.
At best, the issue is extreme swamp behavior, where DeSantis officials are pressuring lobbyists in Florida to donate to the DeSantis 2024 election campaign or their advocacy may be disregarded in state budget considerations.
When state employees use their offices to solicit payments to political entities, the legal issues become very murky. Then again, this is swamp behavior – and when you hire the swamp to push your agenda,

Arizona Republican Kari Lake is launching a grassroots “ballot-chasing” operation to boost Republican turnout in future Arizona elections and “paint the state red.”
“We’re going to start rolling up our sleeves and playing by the same rules [Democrats] play by,” Lake said while surrounded by supporters at a May 23 press conference in Phoenix.
“And when you get a fed-up mom who plays by those rules, watch out, because we’re not letting this happen again,” she added.
Noting that nearly 90 percent of Arizona voters are on the permanent early voter list, Lake explained that her team,(snip) would be doing everything in their power to sway those voters and “take back” Arizona.

The people managing Ron DeSantis previously planned to roll out his first in-person public appearance at a campaign kickoff next Tuesday at his childhood hometown in Dunedin, Florida. The team planned to use a little league field to represent the childhood background, apple pie and Americana image.
Dunedin is a Tampa Bay suburb where DeSantis grew up and played Little League baseball. However, fearing backlash from Floria Republicans who are not happy with the deceptive 2022 gubernatorial campaign, in combination with a much larger polling of support for candidate Donald Trump, the DeSantis organizers cancelled the event.

IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel told Congress the Justice Department (DOJ) made the decision to purge an IRS whistleblower from the DOJ’s probe into Hunter Biden, according to a letter sent to House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-MO).
Werfel’s letter on May 17 responded to Smith’s May 16 inquiry about concerns that a high-ranking IRS agent faced retaliation for raising red flags about alleged political interference in the tax probe of Hunter Biden.
Werfel said the decision to remove a whistleblower from the tax investigation was at the DOJ’s direction, confirming what a second IRS whistleblower alleged Monday.
Comments:
Campaign donations, loans to Biden family members? Is there anyone who doesn’t own Biden and to whom he is thus indebted? The price of heavy-duty donors. Is DeSantis paying attention?
