New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) said New York City is being “destroyed” by President Joe Biden’s migrant crisis during a panel discussion in Washington, DC, hosted by the African American Mayors Association.
“The city is being destroyed by the migrant crisis,” Adams bluntly stated. Adams was joined on the panel by Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass (D), Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (D), and outgoing Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D). Adams seemingly took a shot at other New York City officials, accusing them of not fighting hard enough to get federal resources to the city. “And none of my folks came to Washington, DC, to fight for the resources

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) got a warm reception at the Heritage Foundation’s 50th-anniversary summit just outside Washington, D.C., on Friday, softening a difficult weak that featured a wave of Florida lawmakers endorsing former President Trump for 2024.
Facing a friendly conservative audience of around 1,070 that greeted him with a standing ovation, DeSantis, who has not yet declared for 2024 but is widely expected to, tested whether he could flaunt signing a six-week abortion ban. DeSantis did not mention the abortion ban bill in a Liberty University speech the day after he signed the bill last week. The measure drew criticism and prompted

This is kind of fun. Maybe Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy is crazy like a fox, no? If he can’t wear you out, he’ll wait you out.
A couple of days ago I posted about how McCarthy had gotten the framework for a debt ceiling bill banged out with his fractious bunch of coconuts. In a speech given at the New York Stock Exchange, the Speaker put forth the meat of the GOP proposals, said they would have a bill to vote on “in weeks,” and, again, asked the president to please meet in good faith negotiations.
The answer was the classic Democrat MAGA MAGA MAGA boilerplate

Massachusetts Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira may have been distributing secret intelligence related to the war in Ukraine earlier and to a larger audience than previously known, according to a report. The New York Times reported on Friday that a Discord user matching the profile of Teixeira began sharing classified information in a chat group with roughly 600 members just days after Russia’s February 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
The newly discovered information details Russian and Ukrainian casualty numbers lists the activities of the Kremlin’s spy agencies and includes updates on aid being provided to Kyiv, according to the report.

President Biden signed an executive order on Friday directing all federal agencies to make it their “mission” to work toward “environmental justice for all.”
The order, which comes one day before Earth Day, also creates a White House Office of Environmental Justice. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency defines environmental justice as “the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development, implementation and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations and policies.”
The order aims to “better protect overburdened communities from pollution and environmental harms.” It claims that “racism is a fundamental driver of environmental injustice,”

A massive explosion rocked the Russian border city of Belgorod yesterday. It’s an area that has faced repeated bombings that the Russians have blamed on Ukrainian UAV activity. But what happened on Thursday was far more than a UAV bombing. This was something bigger.
According to reports, there was “a blast that made nearby apartment buildings tremble and threw a car on a store roof.” The bombing left a 66-foot-wide crater in the middle of the street. Everyone wondered what in the hell Ukraine hit them with.
Well… it wasn’t Ukraine. The Russian military has instead admitted that one of their own bombers accidentally dropped the bomb

Finally, there is some more good news in the battle for free speech. The Global Disinformation Index has taken yet another hit after being exposed for its campaign to limit the reach of conservative and libertarian views online.
Oracle, the multinational software company, has announced that it is ending its relationship with the Global Disinformation Index (GDI), a group that has been secretly blacklisting conservative media outlets. The decision comes after a review by Oracle, which stated that its services must be in full support of free speech.
“After conducting a review, we agree with others in the advertising industry that the services we provide marketers must be in full support

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has mobilized special units to the southern border to assist the U.S. Border Patrol as the end of Title 42 approaches and large numbers of migrants are expected to cross into the United States.
Speaking to the Southwestern Border Sheriff's Coalition in McAllen, Abbott told sheriffs from 33 counties that Texas will send units to keep an eye on the border and assist agents.
"Pull out your calculator and do the math. If you were to average that out on a daily basis across an entire year, it would mean more than six million people coming across the border in a single year,"

Conservative talk radio host Larry Elder, who sought to replace the California governor in a failed 2021 recall effort, announced Thursday he is running for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.
Elder, 70, made the announcement on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and followed up with a tweet.
“America is in decline, but this decline is not inevitable. We can enter a new American Golden Age, but we must choose a leader who can bring us there. That’s why I’m running for President,” he wrote.
The long-shot candidate joins a Republican field that includes former President Donald Trump, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson and entrepreneur Vivek

Plans are in motion for President Joe Biden to formally announce his bid for a second term as soon as next week, with a campaign-style video set to be released to definitively answer the question of whether he will run again and igniting an aggressive fundraising effort to help Democrats hold the White House.
Biden’s small circle of close-knit advisers and allies are preparing for a video announcement Tuesday that would coincide with the anniversary of Biden’s 2019 campaign announcement, according to four sources familiar with the matter.

Charges against Alec Baldwin have been dropped in the fatal on-set "Rust" shooting, according to sources familiar with the matter.
Baldwin, 65, had been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter after fatally shooting cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the New Mexico set of the Western in October 2021. The actor was practicing a cross-draw when the gun fired, striking the cinematographer and director Joel Souza, who suffered a non-life-threatening injury. "We are pleased with the decision to dismiss the case against Alec Baldwin and we encourage a proper investigation into the facts and circumstances of this tragic accident," Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro,

An unknown number of American citizens remain trapped in Sudan, and it may already be too late to get them out. The civil war in Sudan between two wanna-be warlords reached the capital of Khartoum almost a week ago, and yet no one apparently had thought to extract US diplomatic personnel and private citizens from the country.
The embassy sent out an alert that it’s already too late for any normal exit:
The airport, located in central Khartoum, is closed but would be inoperable even if it reopened due to damage from bombardment and fighting. The roughly 70 U.S. staff at the embassy have no options to leave Sudan on their own
