The shutdown of Emsland, Neckarwestheim II and Isar II shortly before midnight was cheered earlier in the day by anti-nuclear campaigners outside the three reactors and at rallies in Berlin and Munich. Inside the plants, staff held more somber ceremonies to mark the occasion.
Decades of anti-nuclear protests in Germany, stoked by disasters at Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and Fukushima, had put pressure on successive governments to end the use of

The Germans are so happily naive that they cheerfully bring the rope to their own hanging.
How is making Russia your natural gas supplier working out for you folks?

How do you say "Please help us" in German. All I remember from three years in the 24th infantry is Guten tag and Ein Bier, bitta. likely spelled wrong.

Historians writing about the fall of the once mighty German economy in the early 21st century pointed to their transition to an all renewable energy economy as the turning point towards disaster.

Good luck with that! I thought I read that the Germans were also shutting down their wind farms. What are they going to use? Pixie dust?

Hope the Germans have those coal plants back on line and are willing to start cutting down trees, otherwise, they'll need oil lamps, flashlights and lots of candles come winter.

There is a huge difference between post war nuclear fission technology and what is available today seventy years later. For a modern industrial nation a refusal (that is what it is, they are not ignorant) to accept the difference is a serious mistake, Lot of suffering and lost opportunity ahead. Then of course there is the ultimate Sugar Daddy, the US taxpayer to bail you out.

Sometimes you just have to admit you can’t fix stupid. Unfortunately, it appears that condition is permeating the entire Western world. When scientific truth succumbs to political pressure disaster follows. For a people known for their exacting engineering this utter abandonment of critical thinking is insane.

Don't forget the Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia regions have an estimated 85 trillion cu ft of natural gas. The germans started fracking under Merkel, then the leftists stopped it, then it restarted but very small scale. So just like here they have dimbulb Democrats and vote riggers with their own circular firing squad.

Fools. Wind energy is a serious blight on the German landscape. Hideous monstrosities block the scenery and who knows how many migratory birds are sacrificed annually to "Mother Gaia."
While Nuclear energy has high maintenance costs, the electrical output easily offsets the operating expenses. Germany is making a deal with the devil on this one.

At the same time, there are articles that the Germans are realizing green does not work. They are painting themselves into a corner. Meanwhile, China wants their support on Taiwan. What are they offering? Cheap oil? The German economy is set to take a huge nosedive.

Just a quick glance through the article and ran into the name James Hansen as former NASA expert on global warming or is that climate change or is that climate crisis, But you remember Hansen he was on of those experts who was a part of Climate Gate where Hansen, Michael Mann, and UK climate expert Phil Jones tried to hide the decrease in global temperatures. Anytime a scientist hides data you know he is really a political scientist.
