I never cared much about Donald Trump’s tax returns. Why should I? Why should anybody?
So I pretty much ignored all the hoopla surrounding the release when they were dumped out into the public. Of all the presidents we have had in the past few decades, Trump was the one least likely to use his office to get rich.
He is already rich. So rich that he donated his salary every year that he was president.
All the ridiculous talk of emoluments, schemes to use the office to enrich himself seemed beside the point. Trump loves himself some money and will do ridiculous things to make it, but even if he

Of course, the fact that Trump did not take his $400,000 a year salary as president isn't even mentioned.

President Trump relinquished control of his private companies to his sons while in office. Therefore, his only direct income for four years would have been his $400,000 salary and maybe some interest or gains on private holdings. He paid millions in taxes his first year in office, and after that the tax would taper toward zero as his income was limited. I guess democrats don’t apply logic to anything they do.

I don't know one Dim who did their own tax returns, so I discount anything they say about taxes. When I mention Trump doubling the standard deduction, they look at me like I'm talking Greek.

Trump knew, of course, that his personal tax returns were carefully prepared and in order because he is a high net-worth individual. People at this level have one or more businesses that are where the real financial complexity operates, and he had provided all the required information on these as part of running for office. His denial of his personal information was a noble effort to defend the long-established practice of not digging through the personal records of the President without justification to simply embarrass or distract him.
The case for Joe Biden is quite different. Evidence from the laptop and other records provided by Ukrainian journalists and investigators makes a serious case for charging him with money laundering to hide income. As President Trump pointed out, it's quite remarkable that someone who has only been a salaried US Senator for their entire life could legitimately acquire enough wealth to buy multiple multi-million-dollar personal properties.
The thing Biden is relying on is that he knows many of the other members of the Senate have also been running side hustles through fake NGOs and other shell companies around the world. It takes a thief to know a thief.

We need to do an annual financial audit of every presidential administration. All spending of the people's money needs to be accounted for. The president will be held responsible for any shortage or unaccountable funds.

A very good low key article. The last line on investigating others including the Biden Crime Family opines that that would be a good job for a forensic accountant. Amen.
Trump lost over a billion in net worth while president and paid a million in taxes...

#2, DJT did tutn over control of his various companies t his children, but that would not have changed his tax liability.

Poor, poor, pitiful Dems, jealous as ever of OPM. How many dirty Dems were millions in the red for not paying Their Fair Share?

Just three words will squelch these idiotic J6 "Karens" as they sniff the Bee-ess emanating from their rickety seats up on the dais: "Bill of Attainder". Constitutionally speaking, Congress cannot specify particular American Citizens as criminals or other law breakers.

With the left finally jumping with joy over the nothing burger of President Trumps taxes, it has now set the bar low enough to allow any GOP congress to do the same to Clinton (both), Obama and of course the entire Biden family of criminals, to include Nasty Nancy, Schumer and the rest of the bottom feeders in congress.
And, if the GOP has the kahunas to go after the ‘alphabets’, then we may have the slim chance of saving our once great country.

First they illegally forced the IRS to give them Trumps returns.
Then they look over the forms hoping to find something they could prosecute Trump for.
When they could find nothing prosecutable they release his forms to the public.
It was a criminal process and they should be held liable for it.
But the weak republicans will do nothing.

Last I heard from Rep. Comer (R-KY), questionable banking transactions involving the Bidens have showed up in over 150 of those special reports that the US Treasury tracks. Zero for the Trumps: before, during and after leaving the White House.

IN 2019 and 2020 Trump's business losses exceeded his revenues so as a businessman he took the deductions and paid no income taxes. That is the news? BTW I am curious how he avoided the AMT - Alternate Minimum Tax.

I like the higher standard deduction that Trump gave us. But the reality is the mortgage interest deduction was made pretty much moot. We don't even bother saving receipts anymore because there is no way we can itemize and exceed the standard deduction.
The Dems wanted Trump's tax returns made public because that reveals his business dealings in a way that punishes his ability to do business in the future. It's hard to make a good deal when your customer knows your profit history.

I don't even care about the tax returns of my children or grandchildren so why (initials forbidden here) would I care about the tax returns of a total stranger--unless the total stranger was a member of congress. The democrats are robbing us blind and have done it for years. None but the Almighty can stop it. Tax returns are the easiest way to scam your fellow man.
