The ‘election interference’ that Democrats favor

Our intelligence apparatus — or “the deep state,” in former President Donald Trump’s words — has meddled in two presidential elections acting on behalf of the Democratic Party. Instead of reporting on it, the mainstream media have served as willing pawns of these bureaucratic actors to amplify misinformation. Congress has done nothing about it. And no one in any federal agency has been held accountable. How can this happen in a country that prides itself on its “free and fair” elections? Elon Musk’s “Twitter Files,” which have been released by independent journalists in a series of tweets, shed light on how pervasively corrupt America’s intelligence agencies are

Miami black leaders apologize to DeSantis
for calling the governor a racist

On Friday, Pierre Rutledge, chair of the Black Affairs Advisory Board, issued an apology to Governor DeSantis. Days before, a member of the volunteer board called DeSantis “racist” because the governor rejected an African-American history Advanced Placement course. The College Board removed parts of the course last Wednesday that was opposed by DeSantis. The course will be reevaluated by the Florida Department of Education.DeSantis supported the Department of Education’s decision to remove the history course, because he said it pushed a political agenda. “This course on Black history, what’s one of the lessons about? Queer theory,” DeSantis said.
Biden’s Ballooning Foreign-Policy Blunders 7 replies

Last Friday, just before President Joe Biden left for another of his many long weekends away from the White House, reporters vainly asked him about the Chinese surveillance balloon that had been meandering around in U.S. airspace since Jan. 28. Our commander-in-chief offered no response beyond a smirk and a vacant stare. The “spy balloon,” as it has been dubbed by the media, is a good metaphor for the Biden administration’s foreign policy — lighter than air and potentially dangerous.

The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee is seeking testimony from FBI whistleblowers to attempt to get around the Biden administration's "stonewalling" on providing information about the investigations into former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden. The new revelation about congressional oversight on the classified documents saga is just the latest example of how Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) has used whistleblowers to shed light on issues inside the FBI.Jordan and other Republicans have previously revealed that FBI whistleblowers have alleged serious flaws in how the bureau has conducted major investigations, including those related to Hunter Biden, the Capitol riot, and parental protests at school board meetings.
Trump's line of attack on DeSantis is
uncharacteristically stupid

Donald Trump is not stupid. His opponents have always underestimated him because of the colloquial way he talks–sounding vastly different than most people in the highly educated class. Not sounding educated, they assume he isn’t and by extension isn’t smart. But in recent weeks Trump has been acting as if he is stupid, and I have to say I am surprised. Trump has been attacking Ron DeSantis on the COVID lockdown issue, arguing that the governor’s reputation as a freedom fighter is unearned. Trump even implies that DeSantis was something of a COVID fascist, while Trump himself was fighting to reopen the American economy. That is a profoundly stupid line of attack.

The pandemic sparked a restlessness in American life, with many families opting to move in search of more space or a lower cost of living. That trend continued in 2022, with hundreds of thousands of people uprooting their lives and moving to new states. But some regions are benefitting from an influx of new residents — a trend that can help those areas grow their economies and expand their tax bases — while others are witnessing a net loss of residents. About 25 U.S. states saw more people move within their boundaries last year, while about 25 states lost residents or were relatively flat,
The Joe and Hunter Biden scandal convergence 15 replies

Republicans have long said the Hunter Biden laptop scandal is really a Joe Biden story. Now, it looks like the Joe Biden classified documents scandal is also a Hunter Biden story. Two Biden scandals are merging into one. The convergence point is President Joe Biden's house in Wilmington, Delaware. The public learned in the last few weeks that Biden stored a number of classified documents there, both in his garage, famously next to his vintage Corvette, and in his personal library. How many documents? Biden will not say. His personal lawyer, Bob Bauer, released a statement saying that after a search of the house,

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Tuesday brushed off former President Trump’s latest attacks with a simple message: Check the scoreboard. Asked during a news conference about Trump’s criticism over the weekend of his approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, DeSantis responded with a reminder that he won reelection last year by the largest margin of any Republican Florida governor in the state’s modern history. “When you’re an elected executive, you have to make all kinds of decisions. You got to steer that ship. And the good thing is, is that the people are able to render a judgment on that — whether they reelect you or not,” DeSantis said.
DEI Has Already Killed Public Education 10 replies

During the last few years, most conservatives have become at least dimly aware that leftist ideology, in the guise of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), has infected public education. It’s unlikely, however, that many Americans realize just how far the disease has advanced. It has long since spread beyond a few courses embedded into the social studies curricula of secondary schools and elite colleges. Public school students as young as 9 and 10 years of age effortlessly recite leftist shibboleths even as they descend into functional illiteracy in reading, writing, math, and science.

In the days before George Washington was to set a historic precedent by taking the oath of office and becoming the first president of the United States, he was often heard to say, “I walk on untrodden ground.” The reluctant Washington no doubt understood that, as one Mount Vernon historian wrote, “the precedents he set must make the presidency powerful enough to function effectively in the national government, but at the same time these practices could not show any tendency toward monarchy or dictatorship.” He also understood that how he constructed and conducted this first presidency would set standards and practices for every president to follow.

Last week, CBS “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennan asked Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman why President Biden would dispatch his personal attorney, who didn’t have proper security clearance, to his Delaware home to search for classified documents. Presumably, Brennan believed that when searching for classified documents, one should have the credentials to actually read them. Brennan’s focus on who was reviewing Biden’s papers touched on a potentially interesting line of inquiry. The question hanging in the air, however, relates to the discovery that started this whole process: Why would lawyers be “packing up” Biden’s office

The election security law passed by Republican lawmakers in Georgia and signed into law by the Peach State's GOP Governor Brian Kemp drew some of the most outlandish claims from Democrats who, for some reason, oppose making it harder to cheat and easier to vote in elections. President Biden called the election security law "Jim Crow 2.0" and urged Major League Baseball to yank the All-Star Game from Atlanta, which they did — all based on a lie. Woke corporations signed an open letter and used it to virtue signal their opposition to what they alleged would be racist disenfranchisement of voters in Georgia.

In a 1789 letter to the British philosopher Richard Price, Thomas Jefferson observed that “wherever the people are well informed they can be trusted with their own government.” By that standard, it’s no longer clear that the American electorate is equipped for the task. Jefferson was, of course, an ardent advocate of a free press whose primary function would be to provide the voters with enough information about the government’s actions to assess the soundness of its policies. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that he would dignify today’s corporate media with the appellation “free press.”

Transportation Secretary and Chasten’s wife — er, husband, Pete Buttigieg, went on NBC’s Meet the Press on Feb. 5 to preview Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. During that appearance, Buttigieg claimed that Joe Biden is just so wildly successful as president that his accomplishments cannot be easily distilled — hence Biden’s low approval ratings. Yes, Mayor Pete actually said Biden is extremely unpopular because he’s too good at his job. Buttigieg rambled out a justification of the Biden administration allowing an apparent Chinese spy balloon to cross the U.S. before shooting it down over the ocean (where, quite conveniently, no one can pick up tell-tale debris as enlightening evidence).

The military did not detect previous flights of Chinese spy balloons over the U.S. that took place during the Trump administration, a top general said Monday, due to a "gap" in the Defense Department's ability to track certain airborne objects. Gen. Glen VanHerck, head of North American Aerospace Defense Command, cited the issue as the reason that at least three spy balloon flights were not briefed to senior Trump officials at the time. "So those balloons, so every day as a NORAD commander it's my responsibility to detect threats to North America," he told reporters at the Pentagon. "I will tell you that we did not detect those threats.

I really miss Rush. Regardless how complex or critical the issue, I could always count on Rush Limbaugh’s entirely rational and moral analysis, delivered by an apex professional with genuine compassion, even for those with whom he disagreed. He was ensconced behind that golden EIB microphone; a master of ideas and argument. From his lofty height, he engaged with every thorny problem with an equanimity that drew a placid sagacity from an ocean of experience, and confidence. After all, Rush was “documented almost always right 99.7% of the time.” He was a compass that always pointed the precise bearing to truth. He was the constitutionalists’ loadstar.

The art dealer representing Hunter Biden said the president's son had the potential to be one of the most influential painters of the modern era, but declined to say whether he'd cooperate with a congressional investigation into sales of the art. Georges Bergès, who has been overseeing the sale of Biden's paintings, said the 53-year-old would 'become one of the most consequential artists in this century.' His comments came as the New York Post pressed him on whether he would comply with requests from the House Oversight Committee, which asked to see the names of individuals who purchased Biden's artwork and the price they paid for it.

This was again confirmed by a Washington Post-ABC News poll that found more than 60 percent of Americans say Biden has not accomplished much through the first half of his term: The poll finds that 62 percent of Americans think Biden has accomplished “not very much” or “little or nothing” during his presidency,

The state of our union is a complete, unmitigated disaster. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Tex., joined a chorus of Republicans and conservatives voicing outrage over a controversial performance during Sunday night's Grammys which featured a singer dressed as the Devil. "Nonbinary" singer Sam Smith's duet with transgender artist Kim Petras for their song, "Unholy," featured Smith wearing Devil horns, while Petras gyrated in a cage against the backdrop of flames. Dancers dressed as demons bowed and crawled around Smith. "This…is…evil," Cruz wrote in response to a tweet of the performance shared by conservative commentator Liz Wheeler. "Don't fight the culture wars, they say. Meanwhile demons are teaching your kids to worship Satan. I could throw up," she remarked.
