Former President Trump attacked outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), the vice chairwoman of the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol, over a recent Washington Post piece that said committee staff are frustrated with her Trump focus in the panel’s unreleased final report.
The committee is set to culminate its long-running Jan. 6 probe with a much-anticipated report on its findings — but The Washington Post’s story said a number of anonymous current and former staff were “angered and disillusioned” by how much of the draft report they said was dedicated to the former president.

I wrote about how Elon Musk discovered “Stay Woke” t-shirts in a Twitter closet as he continues to sort out things at the headquarters. That says so much about the liberal nature of the platform before Musk. Musk also noted that the shirts go back to the time of the shooting of Michael Brown and the protests/riots in Ferguson. He also linked to the report of the Obama DOJ, noting that the shooting was in self-defense.
That set off people on the left even more because they had to deal with the reality that their beliefs that they may have held about that shooting for years were fiction.

Senator-elect John Fetterman (D., Pa.) disavowed "dirty money" from corporate interests in his Senate campaign. Crypto scam artist Sam Bankman-Fried was an apparent exception, according to campaign finance records. Web3 Forward, a pro-crypto super PAC funded heavily by Bankman-Fried, spent more than $210,000 on ads portraying Fetterman as a blue-collar hero who would not "get schmoozed by lobbyists," the New York Times reported. Bankman-Fried, his crypto firm FTX, and one of his cofounders gave nearly $4.1 million to GMI PAC, another tech-oriented group that is the sole funder of Web3 Forward.

The left has been going through it since Elon Musk took over Twitter. From the moment it became apparent that the deal to purchase the social media company was going to go through, they have been ranting and raving about horrible things are about to get on the platform. Prominent leftist influencers insist that Musk’s focus on free speech will only lead to more misinformation and bigotry being promulgated on the site. But in reality, they seem to be more frightened by the prospect of people who espouse views different from theirs might just have a level playing field

Former President Donald Trump lashed out Wednesday at the Supreme Court — three of whose justices he appointed — for unanimously rejecting his request to block a congressional committee from obtaining his federal income tax returns.
Trump's rant against the conservative-dominated court came a day after the 2024 Republican presidential hopeful learned of the court's move, and saw ominous signs at three other courts where he faces troublesome cases. Those other cases include two criminal investigations of Trump and a civil lawsuit that threatens his New York City-based company. That firm, the Trump Organization, separately is on criminal trial in Manhattan for an alleged tax-avoidance scheme. Trump has denied

Democrat Mary Peltola has won the race for Alaska’s at-large congressional seat, NBC News projected Wednesday, defeating former governor and GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
While the election was held earlier this month, the race was not called for weeks because of Alaska’s new ranked-choice voting system where voters rank the candidates in order of preference. After the first round of voting, Peltola led Palin by more than 20 percentage points, with Republican Nick Begich, a scion of one of Alaska’s most well-known political families

Chesapeake, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake police say the suspect behind a mass shooting at a Walmart just off Battlefield Blvd. is dead.
It’s still unclear just how many people were killed or injured in the shooting, but police say there are multiple of both. A police spokesperson told WAVY’s Michelle Wolf that no more than 10 people have died. Police are still going through the building and people are asked to steer clear. The call reporting the shooting came in at 10:12 p.m. Tuesday. The Walmart supercenter was open to the public at the time.

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, who is expected to be the next House speaker, gave Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas an ultimatum: resign or face an impeachment inquiry. “Our country may never recover from Secretary Mayorkas’ dereliction of duty. This is why today I am calling on the secretary to resign,” McCarthy said. “If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure. And we will determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry.”
The stark warning is a significant change in tone from McCarthy

Late on Tuesday night, court filings by the attorneys for the alleged shooter from the LGBTQ night club in Colorado Springs, Colorado revealed the shooter is non-binary and goes by they/them pronouns. After spending the past two days smearing conservative Christians for allegedly inspiring this apparent attack against gay people, CNN Tonight anchor Alisyn Camerota was clearly stunned as she watched her network’s narrative come crashing down.
Breaking the news to her audience, Camerota begrudgingly reported that the “attorneys for the accused shooter, Anderson Lee Aldrich, say in new court filings tonight that the suspect now identifies as non-binary.”

A fun leftover from yesterday, in which the Paper of Record tries to answer the age-old question: Are the tweets bluer on the other side of the fence? Excuse me, the toots?
The New York Times took a closer look at the new Mastodon instant-messaging platform to which reporters of all stripes — but mainly progressives — have recently decamped. The selling point for the service is its decentralization as well as its collaborative moderation, at least theoretically. In practice, however, it looks more like a confused mess where “journalists” eat their own rather than practice tolerance, including at the Journa.host node funded in large part by the J-school at CUNY:

It appears the left has been peddling yet another false narrative. The New York Times reported on Tuesday night that the alleged gunman who carried out a mass shooting at an LGBTQ club in Colorado identifies as “non-binary.” According to a court filing, the suspect’s public defenders note that Anderson Aldrich, the suspected shooter, uses “they/them” pronouns. New York Times reporter Nicholas Bogel-Burroughs posted a tweet that the defense attorneys refer to the defendant as “Mx. Anderson Aldrich.”
Aldrich is currently being held on suspicion of murder and hate crimes, in connection to the shooting at Club Q, which occurred on Saturday night. He was injured after patrons

American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Deadline” that Republicans’ transgender rhetoric was both “demonic” and “dangerous.”
In an interview with Semafor, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said “Ihe most dangerous person in the world” was Randi Weingarten.
“It’s not a close call,” he said. “If you ask, ‘Who’s the most likely to take this republic down?’ It would be the teacher’s unions and the filth that they’re teaching our kids.'” Weingarten said, “It was both ridiculous and dangerous, but more than that, it was pathetic in that he is attacking teachers.
