At this point, we at RedState (and many, many other outlets) have spilled all sorts of digital ink on the state of the national GOP leadership and all the faults and flaws they have. Mitch McConnell’s lack of agenda and the way his Senate Leadership Fund spent money. Rick Scott’s NRSC and their money and strategy problems. Trump’s involvement, choice of candidates, and lack of spending.
The quality of candidates overall.
It’s all a series of negatives that have absolutely hurt the Republican Party’s chances of taking the Senate and will make their possible majority in the House way more narrow than originally hoped for. And

With the Senate officially back in Democratic Party hands and major governorships lost, Republicans could use some good news. The election has been an unmitigated disaster, with one of the best electoral environments in decades being blown in spectacular fashion. But, while dooming is more than warranted, I can finally bring some merciful good news regarding the House of Representatives. Nothing is official yet, but three major signs on Sunday evening, including a call after a ballot dump in Arizona, appear to make a GOP victory in the House inevitable. The three seats mentioned above were absolutely crucial for Democrat chances of retaining the House.

Lost in the election chaos of the past week was the news that Bidenflation is still chugging along. Inflation came in lower than forecasted for October even though housing, food, and energy prices remained significant contributors to rising consumer prices. Since the 1970s, economists have used the most recently updated Bureau of Labor and Statistics (BLS) data to quantify the country’s economic health. To do so, they add the current U.S. unemployment rate, which ticked up to 3.7%, to October’s better-than-expected rate of U.S. inflation, which now stands at 7.75%. Originally coined as “the discomfort index” by intellectual powerhouse and

I’ve seen a lot of rationales being tossed around for why the Republicans didn’t win more despite what all the polls and data points suggested.
I must confess, I’m not particularly satisfied with any of the answers I’ve seen. Yes, could some candidates have been better? No doubt. But Democrats got John Fetterman in and even voted for a dead man. So let’s not even pretend the quality of the candidate or even being alive truly matters. If you voted in Fetterman, it’s all based on wanting power for your party, no matter what.
Did Sen Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) take some money away from races

I wrote earlier about the dustup between Sen. Ed Markey (D-WA) and Elon Musk but there are a few more points that I wanted to hit on.
Markey blamed Musk for a Washington Post reporter impersonating Markey with a fake account with a blue check mark. Now, I wrote about some of the confusion created by the Twitter Blue subscription, by people getting blue checks by paying for the service. Yes, that created some questions and Musk suspended the service to work out the kinks and reports are that it will likely be coming back next week.
While Markey wanted to blame the impersonation on Musk,

President Joe Biden on Sunday morning welcomed holding on to the Senate but said he was now focused on the final race in Georgia, in the hopes that Democrats could win one more seat and extend their power.
'It's always better at 51 because we're in a situation where you don't have to have an even makeup of the committees,' he told DailyMail.com. 'And so that's why it's important mostly. 'But it's just simply better. The bigger the number, the better.' Biden took time out from international diplomacy to talk to reporters about domestic politics at his luxury hotel in Phnom Penh, Cambodia

White House adviser Anita Dunn appeared on some Sunday morning political shows to tout the success of Democrats in the midterm elections. Her message was that because the Democrats have majority control of the Senate after the results of the race in Nevada were called yesterday, control of the senate is “hugely consequential” for Biden’s success in the coming two years.
“He believes that at the end of the day, there are going to be things that Republicans and Democrats can work on together as they did over the last two years,” Dunn said in an interview with “Face the Nation,” referring to the president. “Control of the Senate is hugely

On Sunday’s CNN Newsroom, host Fredricka Whitfield brought on Allan Lichtman, a left-wing history professor from American University to smear the Republican Party as being “out of step” and suggesting the GOP is on the verge of extinction by saying “this may be their last chance to revamp the party.” After the disappointing electoral performance Republicans had on Tuesday, there has been talk of Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis running in 2024 because of his landslide reelection victory. Lichtman made sure to shoot down the idea of Ron DeSantis being a more appealing alternative to former President Donald Trump. Whitfield asked Lichtman

As RedState reported, crypto-exchange FTX collapsed after its much-lauded founder, Sam Bankman-Fried, appeared to make improper transfers of customer money. Somewhere between $1-2 billion of that amount has now gone missing and Bankman-Fried also has disappeared. What makes this so interesting, though, isn’t just that a lot of really wealthy people got scammed. It’s that Bankman-Fried also happens to be one of the top donors to the Democratic Party. In fact, outside of George Soros, no one has done more to bankroll Democrat efforts since the 2020 election. Joe Biden alone received a whopping $5.2 million.

Though NBC News cannot project control of the House at this time, the Decision Desk has released its estimate for the U.S. House of Representatives as a whole, which reflects the most probable outcome for partisan control.
To arrive at the House Estimate, the NBC News Decision Desk calculates the probability of a Democratic, Republican or third-party victory in each of the 435 individual House races based on pre-election research. On election night, election analysts examine all the available vote data in real time, adjusting the probabilities for each House race accordingly. Based on those probabilities, NBC News’ Decision Desk then calculates the most probable outcome

Sheesh, that escalated quickly.
Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), a man who chooses to use a portrait of himself wearing a mask as his Twitter profile picture (which tells you everything you need to know about his mental state), reacted like an angry child today after Elon Musk absolutely owned him in a tweet regarding the state of Twitter’s rocky rollout of the new Blue verification process.
It started when Markey opined on the ongoing turbulence concerning Twitter’s new verification system, which Musk has repeatedly admitted was in the process of being fixed and polished. Markey proudly shared a Washington Post journalist’s account of how they managed to create a verified account

We may only be a few days past the last election, but the talk of 2024 is already heating up on both sides. Donald Trump is expected to announce yet another run for president on Tuesday. Opinions on how successful it will be have varied wildly, but we’ll have nearly two years to find out. What about Joe Biden, though? He’s been all over the place when asked about running for re-election, with his resolve seeming to harden over the summer leading up to the 2022 election. After Republicans unexpectedly got shellacked, the assumption then moved to it being assured. Why wouldn’t Biden run again? He just dodged
