President Joe Biden is “highly compromised” by the Chinese government, according to Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) who argued that that must be the case given the scrapping of the United States Justice Department’s effort to combat Chinese economic espionage.
Appearing on Fox News’s Sunday Morning Futures, the Wisconsin senator — who won a third term in last week’s midterms, defeating Democrat Mandela Barnes — was asked by host Maria Bartiromo about his expectations for President Biden’s Monday meeting with Chinese dictator Xi Jinping.

Former President Donald Trump will announce his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election on Tuesday, and many Republicans are wincing. They point to his re-emergence and cringy attacks on successful and popular Republicans just before the midterms as the reason for the failure of the red wave to materialize. While I doubt Trump was to blame — the fix was already in, in the form of an overwhelming number of mail-in ballots that had been cast way before — that’s neither here nor there for the purposes of this article. And obviously, there’s no point in talking about winning future elections until we have a plan for neutralizing Democrats’ weaponization

We started the day with the GOP on the cusp of controlling the House and we’re ending the day with the GOP on the cusp of controlling the House. Still there has been some movement. The big news is that moments ago the Associated Press called two races in Arizona for the GOP. David Schweikert wins in AZ-1: And in AZ-6, Juan Ciscomani wins. That brings the GOP tally to 214 seats. The AP also called Oregon’s 6th district for Democrat Andrea Salinas which brings the Dems tally to 205 seats. That leaves 16 races uncalled.
The GOP only needs four more seats to clinch the win

In the first school board election since the Loudoun County School Board made national news regarding critical race theory and its attempted rape cover-up, conservative candidate Tiffany Polifko unseated the liberal incumbent.
Polifko became the projected winner against incumbent Andrew Hoyler on Monday evening after outstanding ballots were counted.
Last week, Polifko also led Democrat Nick Gothard by 135 votes — who came in second and has conceded — in a tight three-way race.
Polfiko ran on a pro-parent platform, while Gothard was supportive of many of the school board’s recent controversial measures that cut parents out of the process.

Democratic Secretary of State Katie Hobbs has defeated Republican Kari Lake in Arizona's race for governor, NBC News projected Monday.
Hobbs' victory is key for Democrats in a presidential battleground and a rebuke to a prominent election denier — though the closeness of the contest left the result up in the air for nearly a week. A record number of early ballots were dropped off on Election Day in Maricopa County, officials said, which had to be processed in a more time-intensive manner that includes signature verification. Maricopa County, the state's most populous, said Sunday that it estimated that its count was 94 percent complete after receiving a historic 290,000

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott called for an investigation into Harris County's elections after several polling places failed to open on time and ran out of paper ballots on Election Day last week.
"The allegations of election improprieties in our state's largest county may result from anything ranging from malfeasance to blatant criminal conduct," Abbott said in a statement.
"Voters in Harris County deserve to know what happened. Integrity in the election process is essential. To achieve that standard, a thorough investigation is warranted." Harris County Elections Administrator Cliff Tatum said that his office is "fully committed to transparency" regarding the midterm elections, noting that the county

Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo — most well-known for going against the medical establishment when it comes to mask mandates, coronavirus vaccine mandates, and transgender surgeries and therapies — will return for Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) second term in office, the governor announced Monday.
“Dr. Ladapo has done a great job as @FLSurgeonGen. His evidence-based principles serve as a counterweight to the increasingly political positions of the entrenched medical establishment, especially on schools, masks and mRNA shots,” DeSantis said, announcing that Ladapo will return for his second term.

Following the dismal midterm showing, there’s a lot of blame to go around. While I can and will sum up the issue, I want to focus more narrowly on the way in which the entire Republican machine is turning from Trump, who is now anathema, to Ron DeSantis, who is the new god. Considering that we still have a long time before the primaries and then the 2024 election, this kind of decision-making is premature and dangerous—and that’s why we’re being forced into it.

The day is coming–rather soon, I think–when the current mania for drugging adolescents and carving up their bodies will be viewed with horror as one of the great crimes of our century. The costs of the “trans” fad have already become evident, to the point where the New York Times wants to position itself somewhere in the middle.
The Times story is headlined: “They Paused Puberty, but Is There a Cost?” Good question! The subhed: “Puberty blockers can ease transgender youths’ anguish and buy time to weigh options. But concerns are growing about long-term physical effects and other consequences.”

Six Republican candidates lost in the general election on Tuesday after Democrats spent an estimated $40,250,000 boosting them in the GOP primaries.
The Democrats’ primary strategy, which was mocked by many Republicans at the time, turned out to be a successful defense against the Republican Party on Election Day. The strategy took advantage of Republican disunity upon which type of GOP candidate should be supported by the Republican Party in the primary up to the general election. Former President Trump’s waning appeal to moderate voters in battleground races appeared to also be a factor.
Below are race specifics:

Joe Biden has been on an embarrassing tour overseas. First, he went to COP 27 in Egypt and apologized for the U.S. pulling out of the Paris Agreement under President Donald Trump — a good move — that Biden has now rejected. He was howled at by protesters and then lost another fight with his teleprompter during his speech. Then Biden went on to Cambodia, delivered remarks sounding about 100 years old, //snip//Xi stood while making Joe Biden walk to him, Xi didn’t even meet him halfway. And Biden did it with his hand out. That pretty much said it all right there, it cried “weakness” and loss of face.
