Yankees superstar Aaron Judge won the bet on himself, and won big. The consensus seems to be that the baseline deal Judge will get this winter is $300 million — or $86.5 million more than the Yankees offered in spring. And he may well get more.
Judge was seeking in spring to be in line with Mike Trout’s $36 million annual salary, according to sources, and now the early hints are that the Yankees may accede to his original asking price, and perhaps go even a bit higher. Some suggest he could even threaten Trout’s record $360 million total deal — though if he does,

Devious and desperate Democrats seem to be trying to make U.S. Rep. Mayra Flores (R-Tex.) look bad with “pathetic photoshopping,” but it probably isn’t going to work against the America First star.
In a campaign attack ad, Flores’ Democrat rival Vicente Gonzalez tried to smear her in connection with the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act of 2022.
On that bill, 193 Republicans in the House voted no.
Rep. Flores was the winner of a June special election that flipped a longtime south Texas blue seat to red, and she is seeking to retain her incumbency in the upcoming midterm voting against Gonzalez, who is switching districts.

Two enraged fathers were charged with attempted murder in Florida after engaging in a road-rage gunfight, shooting each other’s daughters and then brawling on an open highway according to authorities. (Video) The men were strangers to each other. William Hale, 35, and Frank Allison, 43, got into what authorities called a high-speed “cat and mouse” chase late Saturday, according to the New York Post.
While doing that they took aim at each other’s vehicles with semi-automatic handguns hitting their daughters who were unbelievably in the cars with their parents during the wild ride. After the shootout, they got out and fought on the highway.

Donald Trump’s spokesperson claimed The New York Times engaged in “some of the most irresponsible reporting imaginable” after the outlet published a story claiming an aide for the former president moved around boxes at Mar-a-Lago before and after a subpoena to return classified materials — despite not knowing what was actually inside the boxes.
The NYT published a story Thursday claiming a Trump aide was caught on camera moving boxes “out of a storage room” at Mar-a-Lago “both before and after” the Department of Justice issued a subpoena asking for the former president to return all classified materials. The storage room in question

New York Attorney General Letitia James asked the Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday to prevent former President Donald Trump from moving his businesses to a new holding company he formed while her civil lawsuit against his current organization over widespread fraud allegations moves forward.
James filed a motion with Judge Arthur Engoron to prevent Trump from using a new statement of his business' financial conditions in dealings with lenders and insurers either to satisfy existing obligations or to obtain new loans or insurance coverage without adequately disclosing the assumptions and methods used to calculate the valuations of assets.

The Connecticut man who gunned down three Bristol cops after luring them with a phony 911 call was a beer-drinking divorced dad of two, who stunned neighbors described as the “rowdy one” in his clan.
Cop killer Nicholas Brutcher, 35, also liked guns — and is seen proudly displaying a handgun at a wedding in one Facebook post from 2016.
“Nick was the big rowdy one,” a neighbor of his brother Nathaniel told The Post Thursday.
“He was the big funny one, a big teddy bear.

Actor and film producer Mark Wahlberg joined the growing list of A-list Hollywood celebrities fleeing California.
During an interview Tuesday on the CBS talk show “The Talk,” the movie star said he moved out of the Golden State and into Nevada to give his children “a better life.”
“I moved to California many years ago to pursue acting and I’ve only made a couple of movies in the entire time that I was there,” Wahlberg said. “So, to be able to give my kids a better life and follow and pursue their dreams, whether it be my daughter as an equestrian, my son as a basketball player, my younger son

As Julio covered on Wednesday, email documents revealed by Fox News' Bill Melugin show that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas knew that the slandered Border Patrol agents did not actually whip illegal immigrants. Mayorkas still failed to defend them, though. Calls to impeach the secretary, with impeachment articles having been first filed by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) in August of last year, have ramped up.
Biggs continued his calls over Twitter on Wednesday.
(Tweets)Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) has also called for impeaching Mayorkas,

Speaking on the Tuesday edition of Just the News’ “Just the News, Not Noise” show, country singer and star John Rich blasted the country music industry for being infected by woke culture and said that he no longer has the backing of the industry.
Discussing how the industry no longer backs him thanks to his new, hit song “Progress,” Rich said:
“I don’t have the backing of the country music industry really much anymore. And that’s okay. I would rather have my freedom of speech than their approval any day of the week.”

A jury in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, reached a decision in the trial of Parkland mass shooter Nikolas Cruz Thursday, recommending a life sentence without possibility of parole for the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School attacker.
The jury was required to be unanimous for a death penalty recommendation, and at least one juror withheld support for the death penalty in the 17 verdicts for the murder victims.
ABC News reported that Cruz “pleaded guilty last year to 17 counts of first-degree murder and 17 counts of attempted first-degree murder.”
Circuit Judge Elizabeth Scherer read the verdict dealing with each victim, each of which cited “mitigating circumstances” preventing a death penalty decision.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper said Thursday on his network’s coverage of the January 6 House Select Committee hearing that Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) sacrificed her career to hold former President Donald Trump “accountable.”
After the committee voted to subpoena Trump, Tapper said, “There you have it, a moment in history. With nine aye votes, zero no votes, the committee has now just decided unanimously to subpoena Donald J. Trump for both testimony and documents relating to the attempt to overturn the election. It is a theatrical display in a way. They could have just announced it in a press release, but they wanted this moment recorded
