Last week, Saudi Arabia announced, in conjunction with OPEC+, that it would be cutting oil production in the face of dropping prices. That decision came in spite of the Biden White House’s lobbying in favor of increased production, which included a sycophantic visit by President Joe Biden to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. In response to the Saudi announcement, the White House quickly announced that the United States would be reevaluating its relationship with the Kingdom. Meanwhile, the White House announced that it would be “preparing to scale down sanctions” on Venezuela’s tyrannical regime, according to The Wall Street Journal. The goal: increased oil production from the Marxist dictatorship

Biden has put himself into a corner and just like he can't find his way back off stage he can't see the obvious way out of his corner and that is to make the US selfsufficient and drill our own oil. No he goes begging to the people he insulted when trying to make himself look tough and now they are humiliating him on the world stage. Now he thinks he will punish them. Hey fool they are holding all the cards, thanks to your moronic policies. He got us all into this mess and if he wants to talk short sightedness he needs to look no further that into a mirror. Just a stupid fool looking back at him who should never have been let in the front door of the whitehouse. God help us in Nov and after because it will take years to get us out of this mess, if ever.

Right off the bat, Biden, as president, clamps down our oil production. Within two years, he has to sell off our oil reserves, and now he’s begging other countries to sell us oil. Isn’t that about the stupidest thing a president can do? Among many other stupid things he has done so far? I think he is an idiot.

"unproductive and geopolitically imbecilic" Brandon has always been a moron. Now he is senile as well. What other outcome would you expect? Leftist dem policies are insane. They NEVER work, here or when they have been tried in multiple countries. Sure, the promises of socialism SOUND good, however THEY NEVER DELIVER. Nor, as dedicated socialists claim, are the failures due to the specific implementation of socialism so all they have to do is repeat until they get it right. The failures of socialism are fundamental and inescapable. One of the critical issues is that it defies human nature. It will ALWAYS fail because it is completely out of sync with how people fundamentally think and behave. The last 30 years have proven this over and over. The American Left keeps going back to this lunacy for one simple reason, political power. They make unicorn promises and foolish Americans elect them to fulfill them. Once elected they execute a massive unconstitutional power grab. Their policies don't work (because they are fundamentally unworkable). Rinse and repeat. The only ones that benefit are the political leaders.

The anti-Americans advising Biden such as Susan Rice, Ron Klain, Avril Haines (ODNI) and Lisa Monaco (Deputy AG), etc don't have to worry about the cost of gasoline, heating their homes this winter, etc. They're the elites and anything they can do to humiliate and destroy this country is fine with them. If you're not a Kulak now, you soon will be and they are more than happy to send out Old Man Joe to do their bidding.

The country will get past this. We got past gas lines and the even and odd license plate numbers to get gas. We got past double-digit inflation numbers with Carter. It all changed for the better when Reagan was elected. It will all change for the better again when Trump or whomever is the next Republican elected as president may be in 2024. In the meantime, the Republicans will control the house and senate and will at least slow the reckless spending spree the demosluts are doing. Past experience shows it doesn't take too long to change the economy one way or the other. All it needs is a drill baby drill or a frack baby frack person in the white house. You'll be surprised how quickly things change for the better.

Re #10, Venezuelan crude is heavy to very heavy crude, meaning lots of the long chain molecules which are very "thick", more like grease than what we think of as oil. Many decades ago, refining was just mostly separating what was in the the "crude oil" into various kinds of refined oils....and gasoline was one, as was lube oil Today, in modern refineries here in the USA, those long chain molecules are broken down and we can make plenty of gasoline or superb lube oil from that stuff. In fact, pretty much all the "synthetic" motor oil that we buy and use today is SORTA synthetic, being made by breaking down very long molecular chains into shorter, but consistent length molecules which make excellent lubricating oil.....and a court case was done that allows these "resized" natural molecules to be marketed as "synthetic oil", mostly because it behaves much like true fully synthetic oils. Those "fully synthetics" are made up from shorter molecules "hydrocarbons". The shortest common one is methane....also known as natural gas, so to make the old style of "fully synthetic" oil, CH4 molecules were linked into much longer chains of hydrogen and carbon to make oil. The more common "synthetic" oils are made by breaking extremely long hydrocarbons down to shorter chains, making lube oil. Gasoline can be made the same way, although it takes more effort than the refining of the 1920s when you separated off the pre-existing gasoline rather than "built it" from other hydrocarbons. Venezuelan crude requires special refinery modifications, but can make gasoline or lube oil, even though it is a heavy crude (kinda dirty with sulphur, too) so not ideal, but useable for sure.

Instead of removing sanctions on Venezuela, Biden should remove all of the sanctions he has imposed on the U.S. oil and gas industry. This would accomplish three desirable results. 1. Restore many good paying jobs in the U.S. oil and gas industry he eliminated with his “war on fossil fuels.” 2. Put us back on the road to energy independence established by President Trump. Then OPEC+ and other nation would not be able to use oil and gas to blackmail us. 3. Increase the world supply of oil and gas, thereby, reducing the high price of fuel that is responsible for the sharp increase in inflation.

#12 makes some very good points about Venezuelan crude. We do have at least a few refineries on the Gulf coast that are engineered to handle it though. Valero has at least one them. We can refine it, but it is stupid when we have oil here. In addition to mentioning how high grade the oil from the Permian Basin is, Saudi Arabia actually bought some from us to refine into special products for themselves.

The Supreme Court on Thursday rejected an emergency request from former President Donald Trump to intervene in the dispute over classified documents seized from his Mar-a-Lago estate in August. Trump had asked the justices to reverse a federal appeals court and allow a special master to review about 100 documents marked classified, a move that could have opened the door for his legal team to review the records and argue that they should be off limits to prosecutors in a criminal case. But in a brief order, the court denied the request. There were no noted dissents.

Americans are squeezed by the cost of living: that’s been true for years, and they didn’t need today’s report to tell them that. It’s a key reason I ran for President. Working to give middle class families some breathing room in dealing with their costs is critical. Today’s report shows some progress in the fight against higher prices, even as we have more work to do. Inflation over the last three months has averaged 2%, at an annualized rate. That’s down from 11% in the prior quarter. But even with this progress, prices are still too high. Fighting the global inflation that is affecting countries around the world

Washington - The White House tried to fudge the numbers Thursday after newly released data revealed that consumer prices jumped by 8.2% year-over-year last month — with President Biden insisting he’s made “progress” tackling the problem and that inflation really is on a 2% trajectory. “Today’s report shows some progress in the fight against higher prices, even as we have more work to do,” Biden said in a written statement. “Inflation over the last three months has averaged 2%, at an annualized rate. The new company was registered with the New York Department of State on September 21, public records show — the very day that the state attorney general, Letitia James, filed a 220-page fraud lawsuit against Trump, his family, and the original Trump Organization, the umbrella company for the former president's real-estate and golf-resort holdings. On Thursday, James' office fought back against the move, filing court papers that ask a Manhattan judge to bar Trump from

The GOP lawmakers who backed Donald Trump-driven election challenges that metastasized into violence on Jan. 6, 2021, aren’t taking much campaign-trail heat for it. Democrats don’t lack for material to slam Republicans as election-denying riot boosters, and in fact many of them deploy that attack while in Washington: A majority of House Republicans voted to oppose certifying 2020 results — a sentiment backed by many of their candidates, too. But given that most GOP objectors occupy comfortably red seats, Democrats are limited on where they can use those certification votes as a successful issue this fall.

Some 46% of people now call their personal financial situation poor, up from 37% in March, according to a new poll by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Officials at the Federal Reserve and in the Biden administration are seeing promising signs that the U.S. might finally be through the worst of inflation. But don’t expect them to declare victory anytime soon. Import prices have dropped as the value of the dollar has surged. Supply chain snarls have been easing for months. Retailers have been building up their backroom store of products. All of these trends suggest that price spikes should begin to cool off. But topline inflation data has remained stubbornly high, feeding the steady drumbeat of remarks by central bank policymakers that they can’t let up yet.
