Gas prices are more than $3.00 lower in Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) Florida than in Gov. Gavin Newsom’s (D) California.
Newsom has for months made a noticeable effort to criticize Florida and DeSantis’s handling of the state, going so far as using the Fourth of July weekend to urge Floridians to flock to the Golden State.
“I urge all of you living in Florida to join the fight or join us in California, where we still believe in freedom: Freedom of speech, freedom to choose, freedom from hate, and the freedom to love,” he pleaded at the time, following up weeks later by mocking “freedom-loving” governors.

Arizona held its first (and only) senatorial debate of the election season on Thursday between Republican Blake Masters, Democrat Mark Kelly, and some libertarian dude that we’ll get to momentarily. RedState offered some initial live coverage on Thursday, and now the clips are making the rounds.
Unfortunately for Kelly, he probably should have agreed to a few more debates, because if this is the performance he’s going to leave hanging out there for voters, it’s a bad one. I know it’s cliche to suggest that one side decimated the other side, but Masters delivered a series of money lines that will now be going viral over the next few days,

On the Friday episode of ABC’s "The View," co-host Ana Navarro ripped into Florida Democratic gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist for flip-flopping from his previous conservative platform to his current liberal platform.
A pollster called Florida gubernatorial candidate Charlie Crist "defanged" after a survey showed him badly trailing Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy survey showed Crist trailing DeSantis by an 11-point percentage, so Brad Coker attempted to explain why the Democratic challenger is losing.
The survey was conducted Sept. 28, as Hurricane Ian was putting the Sunshine State in the national news cycle.

Naples, Fla. – All Darcy Bishop can think of while she tries to salvage decades of waterlogged memories destroyed after Hurricane Ian sent nearly 7 feet of storm surge through her front door is Santa Claus.
"They’re already asking if Santa is going to fix their room," she cries. "That’s their mentality. Is Santa going to fix it?"
Russell Rochow, 66, is bound to his wheelchair. His three-year-younger brother, Todd Rochow, uses a walker. Darcy said they were both born with cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s and have the mental development of a young child. Christmas to them is sitting in the living room together inside their Naples, Florida, home –

Living on the American side of the Mexican border can be chaotic and dangerous, as unauthorized migrant refugees — some 700,000 during this fiscal year alone — will go to incredible, even fatal lengths in attempting to cross into the US.
For the men and women who work as border patrol agents, the out-of-control situation often creates debilitating stress.
Now, three wives of border patrol agents are trying to do something about it by running for Congress in Texas’ Nov. 8 election. All are Republicans.
Here are their stories and their motivations for stepping up:

The US Supreme Court vacated a Massachusetts gun control law in one of the first orders of its new term following the justices’ June ruling striking down a New York statute that required people to show “proper cause” if they want to carry a concealed firearm in public.
The Massachusetts case — Morin v. Lyver — concerned the plaintiff being denied a new firearm license because he had two out-of-state misdemeanor convictions for weapons possession.
Massachusetts law places severe restrictions on the possession and purchase of firearms, including the ability to obtain a license to possess handguns, if convicted of nonviolent misdemeanors.

An 18-year-old Texas man visiting his girlfriend in labor went on a rampage at a hospital, where he assaulted several staff members and two babies who turned blue when he choked them, police said.
The unhinged attack began after Marcus Dewayne McCowan Jr. went to the Odessa Regional Medical Center on Monday evening to visit his girlfriend, who was in labor, news station KMID reported.
At one point, the teen began acting oddly and went to the nurses’ station, where he grabbed the arm of a nurse and made “an unintelligible statement” before being asked to leave, the outlet said.

Radical animal rights protester Alex Taylor has filed a police report claiming assault after L.A. Rams player Bobby Wagner tackled him during the protester’s run across the field on Monday evening.
Taylor and his partner Allison Fluty, both representing the radical animal rights group Direct Action Everywhere, appeared at Monday’s Rams-49ers game to protest by jumping out on the field with pink smoke bombs. Fluty was quickly stopped by security while Taylor made it to the field.
But as he ran across the field evading security, Rams linebacker Bobby Wagner stepped in and flattened the protester with a sharp body block sending Taylor sprawling down to the ground.

A New Jersey woman was arrested this week after federal agents and New York City police officers found fentanyl packaged like candy and stored in LEGO boxes in her car.
The woman, Letitia Bush, was arrested on Sept. 28 when agents and police officers stopped her vehicle in the Lincoln Tunnel. The vehicle allegedly contained 15,000 “multicolored” pills and had an estimated street value of $300,000, according to WPVI.
Reportedly, Bush was in the backseat of the vehicle when police and agents showed up. She had two black tote bags and a yellow LEGO container. Inside the LEGO container were “brick shaped” packages

White people were told to engage in a racial shaming exercise to remind them of their privilege by Wisconsin Democrat Governor Tony Evers’ Department of Public Instruction (DPI) when he was its superintendent.
A document promoted by the Department of Public Instruction, obtained exclusively by Breitbart News, suggested white people “wear a white wristband as a reminder about your privilege.”
Democrat Governor Tony Evers, who is up for reelection, was the Superintendent of the Department of Public Instruction from 2009 to 2019. During his time as Superintendent, the department worked alongside Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA).

Dr. Stephanie Cooper is a Calgary-trained Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist with Alberta Health Services.
“So- this was a first for me. A patient declined blood transfusion if the donor had received a covid vaccination,” she wrote.
Another doctor replied and expressed the same sentiment, “Sadly, we’ve had a couple of patients here with the same beliefs.” [Tweet]
