The Latest On The Mar-A-Lago Raid

Original Article

Yesterday Merrick Garland delivered a brief press statement, apparently feeling heat with regard to DOJ’s Mar-a-Lago raid. Garland’s unimpressive performance did nothing to quell concerns about apparent political overreach by the DOJ and the FBI, so the Biden administration tried to invest the raid with seriousness by leaking to its favorite media outlets that the raid resulted from concerns about “nuclear documents.” This upped the ante somewhat from prior leaks that attributed the raid to “classified documents.”  CORRECTIONS*

Comments:

More mumbo jumbo from the feds. It is hoped that those responsible for this deplorable action be held accountable some day.

Thanks, John. But we already know what the administrative state has planned for us. Besides, Klaus already let us know.

Garland only turned the heat up to 11 with that presser yesterday. He had to read that statement of his teleprompter by the way. You could tell by the way his eyes moved. If somebody has strong feelings about somebody's patriotism, they don't need to read it. They say it from the heart.

He’s got to get in a shot that Trump has some responsibility in this fiasco. Hinderaker can drop dead as far as I’m concerned.

Hinderaker is entirely too unserious about the raid that sets the precedent for all Americans. The FBI and Merrick Garland say that you have no right to privacy in your personal affairs. I heard Hinderaker on some talk radio show and he was smarmy about the whole thing. He's one who isn't worth listening to or reading any longer. Just sayin'.

Yesterday was an attack on our country, the first salvo of the war openly declared on conservatives. The FBI raid of a former president's home has never happened in the history of our country. The radical left showed the corrupt lengths they will go to in order to stop President Trump from running in 2024, but as Trump has always said, "In reality, they're not after me, they're after you. I'm just in the way."

What do we know? Law enforcement leaks and confirmation from the Trump side indicate that the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence indicate that the search was focused on presidential records and the possible violation of the Presidential Records Act. In her inside account of the raid, Miranda Devine puts it this way: “The Post has learned that the search warrant used by the FBI to enter the palatial Palm Beach property focused solely on presidential records and evidence of classified information being stored there.” The scope of the seized documents, however, may have extended well beyond the terms of the warrant.

One thing we must give Democrats credit for is their unity. Yes, certain members of the party such as Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) will occasionally diverge from the party line and oppose particularly radical pieces of legislation, but when it comes to big moments and key votes – on impeachment, for instance – Democrats circle the wagons. Contrarily, Republicans tend to fracture at the most inopportune moments, which is why it was refreshing to see virtual unanimity amongst the GOP after Monday’s outrageous raid on former President Donald Trump’s residence Mar-a-Lago. Almost all notable Republicans supported Trump after the ordeal; all except for one.

Breitbart is facing widespread criticism after the far-right media outlet published the names of FBI agents who carried out the raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. The conservative outlet published a leaked version of the search warrant that allowed the FBI to execute the raid hours before the document was unsealed Friday evening. Breitbart released a version of the warrant that included the names of the FBI special agent and supervisor agent who signed off on the receipts detailing the documents taken from the Mar-a-Lago residence — prompting widespread criticism that the outlet put a target on the agents.

Former Vice President Al Gore said Friday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” that he is “sure” Attorney General Merrick Garland, the Department of Justice, and the FBI acted totally appropriately in the investigation and raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, FL. Copper asked, “I do briefly want to ask you about just what we learned today from the Department of Justice. They removed 11 sets of classified documents from the former president’s Mar-a-Lago residence while executing a search warrant. What is your reaction to all we’ve learned?

Kash Patel, a former Federal Prosecutor and Department of Defense official under former President Donald Trump, has revealed a key flaw in the Biden Department of Justice’s claims following the FBI raid on Trump’s estate at Mar-a-Lago. Patel explained that reports of classified materials found at the Palm Beach property are misleading because the documents were already declassified. “Trump declassified whole sets of materials in anticipation of leaving government that he thought the American public should have the right to read themselves,” But it seems that team Trump has more information!

It is helpful to think of political developments as moves on the chessboard made to advance an objective. In chess, the objective is to win the game, chess being zero-sum. Politics is like that, too, though participants often claim it's not, that they're acting for the greater good, principles at the foundation of democracy, motherhood and apple pie and all that — which is true in some cases but never if Democrats are in the game. This brings me to Attorney General Garland's claim that the Mar-a-Lago home invasion wasn't a raid at all.

The post–George Floyd racial reckoning has hit the field of medicine like an earthquake. Medical education, medical research, and standards of competence have been upended by two related hypotheses: that systemic racism is responsible both for racial disparities in the demographics of the medical profession and for racial disparities in health outcomes. Questioning those hypotheses is professionally suicidal. Vast sums of public and private research funding are being redirected from basic science to political projects aimed at dismantling white supremacy. The result will be declining quality of medical care and a curtailment of scientific progress.

When he spoke to the media on Thursday, Attorney General Merrick Garland took offense to those who questioned the professionalism and integrity of the Department of Justice and the FBI. “Let me address recent unfounded attacks on the professionalism of the FBI and Justice Department agents and prosecutors,” he said. “I will not stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked. The men and women of the FBI and the Justice Department are dedicated patriotic public servants every day. They protect the American people from violent crime, terrorism and other threats to their safety while safeguarding our civil rights. They do so at great personal sacrifice

The Senate-passed Inflation Reduction Act is expected to have almost zero impact on inflation, according to a new analysis. A University of Pennsylvania Penn Wharton analysis released Friday revealed the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 would do little to reduce the annual rate of inflation in the midst of the economic recession. The bill would only reduce annual inflation by 0.1 percentage point over the next five years. The study estimated that the small inflation reduction would begin only "once major deficit-reducing provisions of the legislation are fully implemented, but the Act would have no measurable impact on inflation after 2028.

The story of Peloton Interactive, Inc is one that in normal circumstances Americans could be extremely proud of. The company was founded only ten short years ago in New York City, the brainchild of five ambitious and daring young entrepreneurs who were looking to reimagine ways for people to stay physically fit. They were a hybrid of traditional technology and a modern fitness company, and they jumped out to an exceptionally quick start. By the time the COVID pandemic took hold in March 2020 and changed the world forever, Peloton was poised to reap the rewards of a brilliant idea and impeccable timing.
