The United States is preparing a new $1bn security assistance package for Ukraine, which will include munitions for long-range weapons and armoured medical transport vehicles, according the Reuters news agency.
The package would be one of the largest so far and is expected to be announced as early as Monday, three sources briefed on the matter told Reuters.
The US has given about $8.8bn in aid to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion on February 24. The officials, speaking to Reuters on the condition of anonymity, said that President Joe Biden had not yet signed the next weapons package, and cautioned that weapons packages can change in value and content before they are signed.

Why bother because Putin has already won. This is really all about funding the global military-industrial complex. Mitch is all over it because he is heavily invested in it as well as the US Chamber of Crony Capitalists. They love cheap labor and are willing to go to any lengths to get all they want. $8.8B so far and what's another $1B this month anyway? A Billion a month is all they want. How long will this go on Joe? Another 20-year war we fund and not fight this time?

So we’re giving Ukraine more billions, yet Zelenski has asked China to help rebuild Ukraine. i don’t get that.

I suppose we should celebrate the joining together of our two political parties in the mutual chore of taking on Vladimir Putin. Not a one of the bipartisan gaggle of war mongers has presented a coherent rationale of why we, America, are leading the charge against Russia.
The European Union has a much larger population than we do and has more money than we do. None of its members are as broke as us. The invasion happened to a European country by European country so the resolution should come from Europe. Of course, since the good old USA is picking up the bill the Euros let us run the show. Those countries are smart while we are, as always, suckers.
Oh well, we can take comfort that our rapacious arms industry is evading the lousy Biden economy that we, the citizens, must endure.

Are we going to bill Russia for Ukraine, and China for the Wuhan virus?

There is something else going on here. Never have we sent so much money to a foreign country. We likely will never get it back. If they can't win the war with the untold billions we've already sent them, then no amount of money will help. We should not send another penny there.

This is the same thing the Democrats did in the lead up to the Civil War. They tried to strip the Union of its ability to wage war so that their Confederate forces would have a cakewalk when war came. The only issue is who they are setting us up for.

Does anyone doubt that this a proxy war... that the Ukrainians are U.S. mercenaries?. I am ashamed of my government.

#4. "Ef the E.U." said Victoria Nuland, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State (now) in 2013/14 when the U.S. arranged tooverthrow the Yanukovych Presidency (elected by the majority of Ukrainian voters). The E.U. is tied to NATO whose goal, now, is to destroy Russia. It wouldn't matter who the Russian President was. He or she would be vilified by the Grand Coalition of the West. The destruction of Russia by the West is not a new phenomenon. It is curiously quite common in history. The E.U. countries KNOW that the U.S. instigated this civil war in Ukraine. They just can't say it. The E.U. doesn't like Russia either... for whatever reason. They aren't eager to sacrifice their "sons" , their warriors, anymore than the U.S. government. So we pay for the Ukrainians to fight Russia. The big question which remains is "Why are we doing this?" Who wants war in the world?

After Zelensky asked China to rebuild Ukraine? The Uniparty must really want to hide the corruption there.

Ukraine is being handsomely repaid for all the graft money they gave Joe, Hunter and his brother over the years. This has to STOP!

I would love to see a forensic audit of where the billions went to that we have thrown at Ukraine, done by honest people, not government drones. How many new millionaires are there in Congress? What percent actually made it to the Ukraine? You can bet our own corrupt government thieves made out well in this scam, including that dementia ridden moron in the WH...oh, and his druggy spawn.

Rand Paul wanted an IG assigned to account for all the money we are sending when this first began last winter. His amendment was voted down by the Uniparty. Boots on the ground report many of the weapons are sold to arms dealers by corrupt Ukranian commanders as soon as they arrive. As for the cash, we all have an idea on where that’s going.

Do we have to keep forking over BILLIONS to cover the Vegetable's shady deals with his son?
How long before we say ENOUGH, and quit propping up Ukraine instead of U.S. fighing a proxy war.... where does this authority to do this without any accounting for the money come from?
All this regime does is to prop up the environemental wackos calling int inflation reform...
How about protecting AMERICAN citizens instead of fomenting economic ruin with ILLEGALS invading our nation?

I am getting sick of this enormous amount of spending. Yesterday I read an article that was posted here, that Zelensky wants to talk to China and wants to ask them to rebuild Ukraine. That is what we are getting from them? The Euros have said, enough is enough. The US as usual has to do the most only to be kicked by all of them including Ukraine itself. I say we have sent enough. We need money to build up our own army after we have gotten Austin's resignation.
