President Joe Biden blasted former President Donald Trump and 'MAGA Republicans' for 'destroying America' at a Maryland rally Thursday night.
'I respect conservative Republicans, I don't respect these MAGA Republicans,' Biden told the crowd gathered at the Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, a suburb of Washington, D.C.
Biden warned that 'the MAGA Republicans don't just threaten our personal rights and our economic security, they're a threat to our very democracy.'

Gov. Kathy Hochul, who hasn’t proven shy about issuing orders, had one for the state’s Republicans this week — all 5.4 million of them: “Just jump on a bus and head down to Florida where you belong, OK?” she said. “You are not New Yorkers.”
If you can move beyond the frankly disgusting political partisanship and intolerance, her message is fiscally irresponsible, even dangerous. The governor probably already knows this, but the state’s extensive public sector is heavily reliant on personal income taxes paid by residents, and with nearly $14 billion in projected budget gaps over the next five years, it can’t afford to lose any taxpayers,

California has officially become the first in the world to enforce a ban on the sale of new gasoline cars by 2035, following a public hearing on Thursday that ended with California Air Resources Board voting to approve the policy.
Automakers are now required to reduce the number of gas guzzlers they sell in order to reach the first quota of the plan that mandates 35 percent of new cars, SUVs and small pickups sold in California by 2026 be zero-emission vehicles.
The quota increases every two years, with 51 percent by 2028, 68 percent by 2030 and then 100 percent of all new vehicles sold should be

An op-ed in the Washington Post has argued that men in women’s sports could actually be a good thing for young girls by teaching them the art of losing gracefully.
According to Alyssa Rosenberg, the aim of school athletics is not to teach children the art of achieving excellence but rather to build character, and what better way to build character in a teenage girl than having her experience the frustration of losing that championship title to a biological male? Her argument largely hinges on the unicorn of “sports-crazed parents” who will theoretically use transgender athletes in women’s sports as an excuse in the event their daughter loses.

The first case of a person being simultaneously infected with coronavirus, HIV, and monkeypox has been reported after a man returned from a five-day holiday in Spain and sought initial treatment for a sore throat.
The patient, an Italian male, developed a series of symptoms — including fatigue, fever, and a sore throat — nine days after returning from his vacation where he engaged in unprotected sex, the UK Independent reports.
According to researchers from the University of Catania in Italy, the 36-year-old man, who has not been identified, also showed a modest enlargement of the liver and spleen and painful enlargement of the lymph nodes.
The man was reportedly vaccinated for coronavirus

Former Attorney General Bill Barr said on Thursday’s installment of Bari Weiss’s “Honestly” podcast that he is tired of the “constant pandering” those on the right outraged by the FBI over the raid of Mar-a-Lago. Barr defended the DOJ and FBI’s handling of its ongoing investigation into former President Donald Trump allegedly storing government documents at his Florida residence.(Snip)Barr said, “Well, the Russiagate thing, I think, to the extent the FBI was misused was decisions made toward by high-level officials in the FBI. The U.S. Western District Court of Michigan denied a plea by Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson (D) that sought to halt a lawsuit alleging she kept nearly 26,000 dead registrants on the state’s voter rolls.
In November 2021, as Breitbart News reported, the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) filed suit against Benson accusing her of keeping nearly 26,000 dead registrants on Michigan voter rolls and thus violating the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA).
Benson, in response, sought to have the lawsuit thrown out. On Thursday, the district court denied Benson’s effort to dismiss the case.

As President Obama used to say of his clownish vice president: "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to f*** things up."
Which brings us to Joe Biden's student loan debt forgiveness rollout, announced this week.
Let's set aside the issue of the legality of the matter.
The actual execution of the matter is Joe in Action.
According to Axios: The implementation of President Biden's widespread, income-targeted student loan forgiveness is shaping up to be a bureaucratic challenge for the Department of Education.
Why it matters: Millions of Americans are in limbo waiting for information on how to take action on student debt relief — the success of which relies largely on an agency juggling

President Biden poked fun at Donald Trump's attorneys' claims that the former president had declassified all documents he brought to Mar-a-Lago.
''I've declassified everything in the world. I'm president. I can do it all.'C'mon declassify everything,' Biden said as he boarded Air Force One to head to Wilmington, Del. for the weekend.
He refused to comment further on Friday's release of the heavily redacted affidavit.
'I'm not going to comment because I don't know the details. I don't want to know,' he said.

President Joe Biden paid tribute on Friday to 13 American service members who died during the final days of the Kabul airlift when a suicide bomber detonated explosives packed with ball bearings amid the chaos of the city's airport.
'Our nation will forever mourn their sacrifice and honor the memory of those 13 precious souls, stolen from their families, loved ones, brothers- and sisters-in-arms far too soon while performing a noble mission on behalf of our nation,' he said.
However, Biden has faced repeated questions about whether the withdrawal operation was properly executed.

Exuberant over a string of recent legislative victories, and launching his midterm campaigning in earnest, President Joe Biden swaggered into Maryland on Thursday and excoriated his predecessor’s philosophy as “semi-fascism,” in what constituted an unusually pointed and highly charged denunciation of Republicans. “What we’re seeing now is either the beginning or the death knell of extreme MAGA philosophy,” Biden told Democratic donors in the Washington suburb of Rockville. Calling out those he labeled as “extreme” Republicans, Biden said: “It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the — I’m going to say something, it’s like semi-fascism.”

t’s only a day since we reported on California’s intention to outlaw sales of new combustion-engined vehicles from 2035, and already the ripples are being felt across the nation.
The California Air Resources Board (CARB) that governs motor vehicle emissions for the state adopted new rules that will require 35% of the new cars sold in the state are electric or plug-in hybrids by 2026, with that percentage rising to 68% by 2030 and 100% by 2035.
California has a waiver from the federal government to set its own air quality rules, and other states are allowed to opt into its regulations, which are typically more stringent than the national standards.
