Anti-Trump Peggy Noonan is out of control

Original Article

Posted By: DW626, 6/19/2022 7:49:54 AM

In her June 18/19 column at the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Noonan takes Hillary Clinton's "deplorables" slap at Trump voters and goes one — nay, two better. She refers to voters who question the results of the 2020 presidential election as "kooks, crooks, and freaks" and then smears the citizens who went to Washington, D.C. January 6, 2021 as "[t]hose poor stupid people." What is the basis for this criticism, which, arguably, is less ad hominem and, more accurately, descriptive of her mindset? Perhaps Ms. Noonan has not read Margot Cleveland's analysis in The Federalist showing how Georgia election officials failed to enforce the state's election laws in 2020.

In Pennsylvania, in the 2020 presidential election, Governor Wolf and his appointed Secretary of State established voting procedures which were in direct conflict with the Pennsylvania constitution. And the rules were changed during an election cycle, a clear violation of the U.S. constitution, as clarified in Bush v. Gore, 2000. And when the U.S. Supreme Court had the opportunity to handle the election problems, they punted. (Alito did tell Pennsylvania to segregate the ballots in question, and thje urban counties of Pennsylvania ignored him,.) And, finally, In Philadelphia, Republican poll workers were kept away from the counting, so that they could not see what the dimocrsts were doing.

Also, she dishonestly states Trump lost by 7 million votes. Even if it were true that Biden got 81 million popular votes, 7 million is not the margin of victory. Has she not heard of the Electoral College? The margin was more like 50,000, in the five swing states. And those are the five states where private money was used to harvest ballots in Democrat districts.

The author appears to be another Trumpista with thin skin for his hero. Noonan is a nobody these days. If not for Zuckerman raising this, she would have gone unnoticed, as she does every week. She lost all cred with the "conservative" audience long ago. And let's be real. There is no guarantee that FPDT is handed the nomination for another run in '24. Between the UNIPARTY establishment that went to great lengths to run him off in '20, and those lining up with ambitions for '24 themselves, these next two years will make for interesting jockeying. It also is interesting that the field is apparently growing...now with ASA! Can JEB! be far behind? Toss in the apparent ability to cheat, and, well, it isn't going to be so easy. The GOPe is not going to let its work be undone. And where does Noonan and her opinion play into this? It doesn't. It won't. She's so yesterday.

Thanks for that summary #3; it’s good to remember. In light of the recent attempted assassination ginned up by the Dims, it is hardly surprising the Sup Ct was afraid to follow through on Alito’s comment in the opinion that the plaintiffs would probably win; better to live to maybe fight another day.

I wonder what election she was watching unfold that night? What is Noonan's opinion on why various state Democrats have fought legal battles to stymie investigations into that election? If there is nothing to hide, then why the obstructionism? Noonan knows. EVERYONE knows. The reason she is focusing this venom on us and that election is because she understands most of us are eager to vote for Trump EXACTLY because of that fraud. It is to correct a crime.

When the IRS scandal broke, Noonan of course immediately exonerated Barack Obama and she bought all the nonsense about 'the Cincinnati field office' or the laughable excuse that a few rogue managers in DC were responsible. 'We can survive a corrupt agency. We cannot survive a corrupt government,' she wrote at the time. Well, Ms Noonan, I don't need to make any snarky comments about your politics, lifestyle, or attitude to point out that we do, in fact, have one of the most corrupt governments in history. It may even be #1 given its complexity, size, funding and the infinite number of intrusions it makes into our privacy, finances, movement, health, etc. As we've been saying, covid itself was a potent flu bug but nothing more. The panic and control freakery unleashed by government (with media help), however, should have been a vivid, unforgettable lesson for anyone who doubted that government had gone round the bend. That government not only ignored your health but would be quite happy to see it decline severely and wouldn't mind if you died - from isolation, depression, being unable to see doctors for actual health concerns, drug/alcohol use and even the poisonous experimental concoction they had the brass neck to call a 'vaccine.' I am completely unbothered by what Ms Noonan thinks or says about me. I am mildly curious to know if she is willing to admit her definition of a corrupt government has been met and what she plans to do about it beyond calling the hoi polloi names.

Sorry i must make one more observation re Pennsylvania. Immediately after election day I saw several interviews of republican poll observers. They were long form interviews and the people all stated how they were abused and intimidated and in some cases removed while trying to do their job. They were all of Asian heritage. I do wonder why all the attacks on Asians have been in the news- to intimidate Asians for having the wrong political views? Why do the attackers hate Asians? I would think because they’re indoctrinated to do so. Why do palestinians hate Jews? They’re taught to do so. Why was there institutional racism in America? Because the Dims promoted it and passed racist laws; it was created by them. Now they’re creating anti Asian hatred. The dims are the party of violence.

The whole abortion thing kind of baffles me because it is absolutely bizarre that anyone would choose this particular hill to die on or, rather, to kill a bunch of babies on. From a utilitarian angle, it's certainly not a great banner to be carrying because most normal people consider the whole thing horribly distasteful and frankly don't want to think about it. Ideologically, liberals could have gone either way. It's not like they believe in anything. It's not like they had to choose to defend abortion instead of opposing it. They have no problem telling people what they can and can't do as a principle.

Inflation is mostly to blame for Biden’s catastrophic approval rating, of course. But I think what Axelrod describes here is an underrated reason for flagging left-wing support. It’s not (just) that his policies aren’t progressive enough. It’s the sense that he doesn’t “fight,” to borrow a term from righty populists. And when he does make a gesture towards fighting, like when he endorsed creating an exception to the filibuster for abortion rights, he’s destined to end up losing that fight. It doesn’t help either that he’s 79 years old. Watch two minutes of Axelrod here, which picks up with him discussing Biden’s call for a filibuster carve-out.

Most Christians who oppose abortion believe that the practice involves killing. The Bible is pretty clear about that. Campus Reform reports: ‘There is no biblical basis for the ban on abortion,’ Yale Divinity School claims. Yale Divinity School (YDS) published a pro-abortion statement that opposed the recent Supreme Court decision to reverse Roe v. Wade, claiming there is no “biblical basis” for abortion bans.(Snip)Sterling cites Exodus 21:22-25 to suggest that the Bible distinguishes between the life of a child and a fetus.(Snip)“It is not at all clear that today’s decision reflects a text like Exodus 21:22–25.”
