The Department of the Navy this week released its strategy for how it will deal with climate change and proceed toward the government’s goal of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. “Climate change is one of the most destabilizing forces of our time, exacerbating other national security concerns and posing serious readiness challenges,” Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro said in the introduction to the 32-page report. “Our naval and amphibious forces are in the crosshairs of the climate crisis and this strategy provides the framework to empower us to meaningfully reduce the threat of climate change.”(Snip)Del Toro also cited wildfires and droughts in the West,

What does the navy have to do with this phony baloney scam?

All about the Benjamins. A money grab for Al Gore and selected companies. Much more to come. Army, Air Force, Marines & Coast Guard budgets will all feel the green squeeze. Multi-billion dollar programs.
Let me know when US military aircraft, tactical vehicles & naval fleet are all battery powered.
Effectiveness, range, sustainability?? Matters not - just got to be green & woke! That's US priority now.
Russia, China, Iran, NK & others are all smiles about the continued weakening of the newly woke US military.

God is correct when He say's people are sottish. (Drunk with stupidity)
Jeremiah 4:22
For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.

The Chicoms have other priorities, as the U.S. Navy will find out before long.

FTA: "Setting the department on a course [for defeat because we decided] to combat climate change [despite having no idea how to do that] is a main priority of Del Toro’s tenure."

This is insane and doomed to fail.
China and Russia will have aircraft powered by fossil fuels. What will we use to power our aircraft? Nuclear and/or batteries? Absurd to the extreme. Each aircraft's weight and volume would be 70% engine or 70% battery.
Except for nuclear, what will power our ships?

Here's an idea. Why don't we scale back our military to about the size of Canada'? We have two oceans and two non-threatening neighbors. We are un-invadeable. We cannot be conquered.
Why don't we just reap the full benefit of that fact for the next hundred years?

Hey Del Toro - the climate has been changing since the beginning of time! I feel as if our country is committing national suicide.

The Air Force came out of a post WWII political battle of air power versus aircraft carriers. The only way the carriers survived was to increase quantity to cover the areas of responsibility. It takes three or so carriers to keep one on station as after a tour every carrier goes dry dock for six or more months to refurbish. The second carrier is enroute to replace the on station carrier and then after replacing the third sails back to take dry dock. Replacing the propulsion systems to go green will reduce on station to near zero. If they start this now China will take Taiwan for sure! These people in charge are a national security hazard!

Number 10 you forgot your sarcasm sign right? We are being conquered right now via the southern border. Canada’s military is a ceremonial force that has been by propped up by the US forces for decades. Until China collapses, peace through strength is the only way to guarantee security.

China's not an issue. Can't be bothered with the Straits of Hormuz and Iran. Biggest issue is getting solar panels on submarines,
We will be so dead if this continues.

They can rig sails to move their aircraft carriers and have the Marines give up their armored personnel carriers and ride bikes instead.

The destructive Marxist rot is so pervasive in Trans America that the republic might stand a better chance of survival in a scenario where China took over, and the commoners rose up and overthrew them. As is, our flag is the same, our institutions still have the same names (except those named for Confederate heroes, who also opposed centralized rule just as our Founders did), and the smiling opinion makers on TV still indicate their approval of everything agreeing with Right-think, so 90% of the population accepts things just as they are.
