So the week ends with this headline from The Washington Post: Jan. 6 committee sets up historic showdown. The Post story says this: The Jan. 6 committee's decision Thursday to subpoena five House Republican lawmakers sets up a tense and historic showdown over Congress' ability to force its members to participate in one of its own investigations – the outcome of which could have major political and legal ramifications.…the chair of the committee, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) said the subpoenas were necessary because “several of our colleagues have information relevant to our investigation into the attack on January 6th and the events leading up to it.”

All of those named are on record as stating the Committee is a farce, it was not formed in compliance with house rules, is Illegitimate. The 2 "repubs" were NOT named or appointed by the House repubs, but by the democrats, they have been removed from the repub caucus and from their state parties already.
It is a Star Chamber, witch hunt...show trial, laboring under the bare, gauzy premise that it is performing some "Research for a Legislative Purpose", it is not, and will cite no Potential Legislation when asked. BUT...the media never asks.

As most suspect, this sham committee is nothing but a power play by Nancy Pelosi to deflect from the stolen election coup and keep people from even talking about it. The democrats will be damaged goods for a long time forward but Pelosi and the rest of her aging swamp creatures will be retired with full pay and benefits plus whatever money Joe can slip into their accounts from the multi-trillion dollar theft from US taxpayers. It's their last hurrah. The big disappointment is that the SC or no republican has attempted to put a stop to it.

Mean while people are still sitting in DC jail awaiting charges and a trial in the most Unconstitutional act since Lincoln broke people's Constitutional rights during the Civil war.

This 100% political witch hunting stunt is way past it's last "use by" date. Now it is like that six day old fish, stinkng and no amount of fancy sauces or careful cooking is going to make it anything but a stinking mess.

There was no "attack" on January 6th. The real attack was on the evening of the 2020 "election".

The committee doesn't realize the dangerous standard they are unleashing. What will their response be once republicans hold committees and start pulling in the dem Congress members for testimony? I bet it will be a violation of rules and tradition at that point.

The Insurrection by Election happened on November 4, 2020, and the bloodless coup of this nation was concluded at noon on January 6, 2021. We are not a free country right now but an occupied land by foreign and domestic enemies within.

Perfect time for them to challenge this new scheme created by extreme left-wing Democrats, as these people should have standing to file a lawsuit, or multiple lawsuits.
If any of them is interviewed, they should do it on camera, and ask the simple question of why Nancy Pelosi did not act and work with the Capitol Police who her office has jurisdiction sooner? Then ask when she will be called to testify on her inaction

The notion that one congressperson can compel another to speak is laughable. The idea that a congressional committee can take over the executive branch’s function of investigation in criminal matters is a violation of separation of powers. And since congresspeople can’t be arrested while Congress is in session, exactly how do they intend to compel their attendance, much less their testimony?
