A man who set himself on fire Friday on the plaza in front of the US Supreme Court in Washington, DC, has died, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The man was identified as Wynn Bruce of Boulder, Colorado, an MPD spokesperson said Saturday.
Bruce had been airlifted to a hospital in Washington, where he passed away, according to the department.
Supreme Court Police, US Capitol Police and the MPD had responded to the incident, which occurred Friday at about 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The suspect believed to have shot four people in a Friday attack in Washington, D.C., was found dead on Friday night, police said in a press conference.
Raymond Spencer, 23, opened fire from his apartment window on Friday afternoon after configuring a rifle and tripod in a “sniper-type setup,” according to police.

An FBI agent on a stakeout in Queens attacked then handcuffed a traffic enforcement agent for giving him a ticket, the Daily News has learned. Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s social media platform—Truth Social—migrated to Rumble Cloud on April 22 as it attempts to onboard millions of internet users on the network.
Truth Social, created by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), “successfully” migrated its website and mobile applications to Rumble’s cloud infrastructure, according to an April 22 news release.
This migration will ensure that the network can easily “scale significantly” on a “cancel-culture-free” cloud platform, the release said.
Truth Social is the first significant customer to onboard Rumble’s cloud business service.

MARTA celebrated Earth Day by unveiling its first electric buses.
The agency unveiled the buses Friday at a ceremony at its Edgewood/Candler Park station. It showed off three electric buses, which will be put into service May 1 on Routes 2 and 102 out of its North Avenue station.
