We’re not supposed to say “COVID is over,” but that’s about all there is to say when India’s latest breakout has almost nobody getting sick and doctors call it “no cause for concern.” Caseloads in the major city of Mumbai more than quadrupled in recent weeks, from 300 per month to nearly 400 each week. Despite the increase, “A lone death was reported in Gondhia,” according to The Times of India.
Dr Pradeep Awate told the paper, “Data from genome sequencing shows there is no new variant in circulation and only Omicron’s sub lineages are present in India.”
The city’s positive test rate is only 1%, but they aren’t enforcing a universal testing

President Joe Biden has accomplished in just 14 months what many thought was impossible — surpassing President Jimmy Carter as the most incompetent steward of the American economy. Biden just broke another record, leaving Americans saddled with 8.5 percent inflation — energy alone is up 32 percent since last year. Those of us who lived through the ’70s remember the fuel lines at the pump, staggering inflation, and Soviet aggression. There was a sense that America was in decline. What Carter termed "malaise" was actually the product of his terrible policies that hollowed out the middle class while inviting tyrants and adversaries to test American strength.

For weeks now, Disney has been embroiled in a culture-war battle over a Florida law forbidding teachers from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity with primary school students. Disney World, based in Orlando, has vocally opposed this law and vowed to fight it due to its supposed anti-LGBTQ implications. However, this law is immaterial for Disney's financial performance. Disney's shareholders are the real losers of this controversy. Since this bill passed Florida's legislature, Disney's stock is down about 10 percent as investors worry that the company will face political and consumer backlash for its woke stance. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has already threatened Disney World's special self-governance exemptions

Paxlovid has been deemed one of the gold standard Covid treatments in the U.S., even being touted by President Joe Biden at his State of the Union address this year.
Some of those who used the drug to treat the virus are reporting an interesting phenomena, though.
The drug, developed by Pfizer, is believed to be highly effective at preventing hospitalization or death in a person that has already been infected with the virus, but some who had their symptoms initially clear up after using the drug are reporting feeling symptoms again later on.
There are multiple reports that a people will also start testing positive for Covid once again after

Any remaining people unbothered by the “queer” activists pushing for children to question their gender, screw with their biological chemistry via hormone pills and even potentially mutilate their genitals, should immediately listen to an episode this week of The New York Times’s “The Daily” podcast.
If it doesn’t fill everyone with shock and horror, it’s all over and the monsters of this country have won. That two-part episode, “When Texas Went After Transgender Care,” features a lesbian mother and her biological daughter, Grayson, who is 17 and has attempted to become a male.

Democrats are making loud noises about January 6th again, claiming that coming revelations will “blow the roof” off the House of Representatives.
Jamie Raskin, who serves on the January 6th Committee, recently claimed while speaking at Georgetown University that he and his colleagues will present “evidence” that Donald Trump coordinated with white nationalist and fascist groups “in order to support the coup.”
This comes via NBC News, which reported on Raskin’s comments.
“The hearings will tell a story that will really blow the roof off the House,” Raskin said Thursday at an event hosted by Georgetown University’s Center on Faith and Justice in Washington.

A new study in a leading academic journal recommends that medical schools implement mandatory anti-racism training for all non-Black faculty members as part of a “comprehensive intervention for dismantling anti-Black racism” in the U.S. health care system.
The study of 16 self-identified “expert(s) in anti-Black racism,” which nine researchers published on Friday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, consisted of interviews with medical school faculty who are either Black or work in diversity, equity and inclusion offices. According to the study, systemic racism explains the fact that “Black faculty and trainees remain severely underrepresented in academic medicine (AM) despite decades of diversity initiatives.”

The ones with their eyes open, that is. The rest are deep enough in denial that concerned friends ought to stage an intervention.

They were brought to my attention Wednesday evening, when I was checking out political Twitter instead of setting the table like I said I would — occupational hazard.
There, Canadian leftie Jeet Heer was sounding the alarm about the “collapse of support for Biden among young” people, which he described as “a disaster.”

These are rough times for the Democrats. Everywhere they look, November’s midterm elections are like a freight train rushing down a mountain with no brakes, hurtling toward them as they struggle helplessly while tied to the tracks.
They have been losing Latino voters since Trump was president. Now the youth vote — a usually reliable demographic for the Dems — has decidedly soured on the septuagenarian disaster that’s occupying the Oval Office.
It’s plain for all to see that Biden’s puppet masters and the Democrats in Congress don’t have any ideas that will cause a major course correction before the midterms. That can only mean one thing:

A few days ago, the New York Times ran yet another article questioning former President Donald Trump's status as a kingmaker within the Republican Party. Author Shane Goldmacher offers some interesting data points: for example, the fact that Trump's political action committee has a war chest of $120 million-plus. (If a March article in Politico is correct, that's $10 million more than Trump had just one month ago, and more than double what either the Republican National Committee or the Democratic National Committee has in their coffers.)
Goldmacher mocks the aspiring GOP candidates who visit Mar-a-Lago (Trump's Palm Beach home) as "supplicants," "sycophants" and "Trump whisperers."

On Easter Sunday, I awoke with the thought that I would go to church, something I seldom do. Not just any church but the one where I grew up. Where the pastor of my youth was an intellectual and spiritual giant, and a very nice guy. Where my parents were members and volunteers for half a century. Where they still reside – their ashes dwell in the adjacent glen.
So I looked up the church to find the time of Easter service. Their website was plastered graffiti-like with the phrase, “We are love” in translucent cursive so you could still see the words and pictures of the page.

Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation Friday that strips Disney of its 50-year-old “independent special district” status in retaliation for lobbying against Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law.
The law dissolves the Reedy Creek Improvement District, an autonomous area created in 1967 to accommodate the massive Disney World complex near Orlando. The independent status has shielded Disney from significant tax burden.
The governor fast-tracked the initiative to a special session Tuesday, after which the state Senate voted 23-16 on Wednesday to advance it.

Biden has been a Washington politician for half a century, including eight years as vice president and before that a senior senator. How are they this inept?

Soaring gas prices, historic inflation, supply chain bottlenecks, lifting crime rates, a porous southern border, and increasing U.S. absences on the global diplomatic stage. President Joe Biden will reportedly address these issues – amongst many more – dogging his administration in an election year with the simple mantra: “It’s not my fault, blame the Republicans.”
According to an Associated Press (AP) report Friday, the president will seek to portray himself as a man of action stymied at every turn by the GOP in a spectacular attempt at electoral blame shifting in the run up to the midterm elections come November. “I mean this sincerely — name me something

According to a press release from Fox News, with last night’s broadcast legendary conservative talk radio and cable TV host Sean Hannity surpassed the late Larry King as the longest-running host of a primetime show in television history.
While Hannity’s accomplishment is indeed impressive, when we consider that Hannity is still only 61-years-old and that Larry King continued hosting Larry King Live into his late-70s, the milestone becomes even more remarkable and leaves us to wonder: For how long can Sean go?
According to Fox News:
“Today marks 25 consecutive years, six months, and 15 days..."

President Biden said Thursday that the U.S. will deliver another $800 million in military aid to Ukraine to send an “unmistakable message” to Russian President Vladimir Putin as the Kremlin tries to reboot the troubled invasion of its neighbor.(Snip)It is the eighth drawdown of arms, equipment and supplies from Department of Defense inventories for Ukraine since August and comes on top of another $800 million announced last week. Mr. Biden also announced $500 million in direct economic assistance to the Ukrainian government, bringing total financial support to $1 billion over the past two months as Ukraine tries to fend off shocks to its economy and rebuild.

Perhaps because I was bullied as a child, I made sure to enroll my kids in a “Bully Proof” Jiu Jitsu class. The first rule of dealing with bullies is to “avoid the fight at all costs.” That’s the second rule too. But, at some point, you have to defend yourself to avoid becoming a victim. One of the hardest parts of standing up to a bully is that they’re often loud and aggressive, narcissistic and angry. Some bullies are even skilled at making it appear they’re the victim. To defend against a bully, you must set good boundaries. That kind of boundary setting

Is Joe Biden, or whoever is handling him today, aware of his latest "optics"?
Get a load of what he's been up to:
President Joe Biden stopped in Portland for a few hours Thursday afternoon to drum up excitement for his administration's trillion-dollar effort to revamp the nation's roads, bridges, airports and railways.
Biden's speech was part pep talk, part explainer.
"Oregon and America have gone from being on the mend to being on the move," Biden said. "We just gotta get the hell out of our own way."

Evanston–Skokie School District 65 has adopted a radical gender curriculum that teaches pre-kindergarten through third-grade students to celebrate the transgender flag, break the “gender binary” established by white “colonizers,” and experiment with neo-pronouns such as “ze,” “zir,” and “tree.” (Snip) In kindergarten, the lessons on gender and trans identity go deeper. “When we show whether we feel like a boy or a girl or some of each, we are expressing our GENDER IDENTITY,” the lesson begins. “There are also children who feel like a girl AND a boy; or like neither a boy OR a girl. We can call these children TRANSGENDER.”

In multiple interviews, Dr. Anthony Fauci has weighed in on the Monday ruling from United States District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, which struck down the travel mask mandate. President Joe Biden's Department of Justice (DOJ) has decided to appeal Judge Mizelle's ruling. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has also told the DOJ to reinstate the mandate.
Speaking with CBS News' Robert Costa, Dr. Fauci lamented that a judge would dare to rule on the mask mandate as it applied to the CDC overstepping its authority, including when it comes to the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). Costa had asked Fauci "does the CDC, with all respect, have any power anymore

If it’s ludicrous, appalling, and horrifying beyond measure all at once, it must be the latest news from the Democrat Party. Just in case you haven’t had enough socialist scolding and woke posturing, the angry great-grandfather of the Left, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-East Berlin) is considering yet another run for Chairman of the Politburo; uh, scratch that, he’s actually thinking of running for president of the United States in 2024. And why not? By the time the election rolls around, Bernie will be 83, just a little over a year older than Old Joe Biden himself.

Conservatives rarely get opportunities to gloat as delicious as the rapid demise of the streaming service CNN+, reportedly the brainchild of Jeff Zucker, the now ex-head of CNN, the man who dragged the cable news pioneer far to the left. The humiliation stains not just Zucker and CNN, but also Chris Wallace, who left Fox News on a high horse, taking aim at Tucker Carlson and the prime-time opinion hosts at the cable news leader. Already shamed by the fact that Fox News Sunday ratings went up after he left, Wallace now has to contend with savage mockery by the two notable ratings champions at his former employer.

When the Soviet communists’ hammer-and-sickle flag was lowered at the Kremlin for the last time on Dec. 25, 1991, some said that the last refuge of Marxism was in the academic institutions of the West.
They were right. That totalitarian ideology has infected American colleges and universities and other institutions that are purveying cancel culture, wokeism, censorship, and gender dogma that rejects reality.
But students, parents, and others are fighting back. And two colleges—Oberlin College and Shawnee State University—recently got exactly what they deserve: large legal judgments against them for defamatory and discriminatory misbehavior.
A third, Clemson University, narrowly escaped getting hit with a similar type of judgment

When not trying desperately to damage Republicans by keeping the Jan. 6 riot on the front page, the New York Times bravely does public relations work for the Biden administration. The latest case in point is the pathetic attempt by the “paper of record” to defend the misguided, unjustified, inflation-fueling $2 trillion “American Rescue Plan.”
The article — “If Biden’s Plan Is Like a ‘New Deal,’ Why Don’t Voters Care?” — claims that Joe Biden’s big problem right now is that voters don’t know how much they’re benefiting from his March 2021 “rescue” plan.
But despite a valiant attempt to put lipstick on a pig,

Former President Donald Trump on Thursday celebrated the demise of CNN+ after just three weeks by calling it a 'empty desert' and mocking 'low-rated' Chris Wallace - a nemesis especially after the first 2020 presidential debate.'Congratulations to CNN+ on their decision to immediately FOLD for a lack of ratings, or viewers in any way, shape, or form,' Trump said in a statement. 'It was like an empty desert out there despite spending hundreds of millions of dollars and the hiring of low-rated Chris Wallace, a man who tried so hard to be his father, Mike, but lacked the talent and whatever else is necessary to be a star,' he continued.

Former President Trump delivered the keynote speech at the Heritage Foundation’s annual leadership conference at the Ritz-Carlton on Thursday where he addressed a range of issues, chief among them being the radical left’s destruction of the American economy via the “Climate Hysteria Hoax.”“One of the most urgent tasks not only for our movement but for our country is to decisively defeat the Climate Hysteria Hoax,” the president said to the room of supporters. The president highlighted how the radical environmentalist movement has morphed from a fringe belief among America’s youth into an insidious cause that is now actively “destroying America’s economy, weakening our security, and eviscerating our Middle Class.”

The shocking announcement that CNN+ would be shutting down operations less than a month after it launched has left out-of-work staffers “aghast and furious” over the company’s handling of what sources inside the network call “an absolute debacle.”“This is f–king crazy, it is nuts,” a CNN insider told The Post.“This literally rivals the epic disaster of Quibi,” the insider said, referring to Jeffrey Katzenberg’s short-lived streaming platform that went out of business just seven months after it launched in April 2020.CNN+ — which one insider estimated the network spent $300 million launching and between $100 million and $200 million advertising —

In a leaked recording of Kevin McCarthy on a call with Liz Cheney and other House Republicans, the Minority Leader told Cheney that he would counsel Trump to resign back on January 10, 2021. “I think [impeachment resolutions] will pass, and it would be my recommendation you should resign,” McCarthy said he would tell Trump before further adding, “what he did is unacceptable. Nobody can defend that and nobody should defend it.”Liz Cheney had pressed McCarthy about whether Trump could possibly choose to resign on his own: “Is there any chance?

On one level, the claim by media personality Piers Morgan that Donald Trump “stormed off” the set when he brought up the 2020 presidential election is just plain creepy.
But if the only side of the story you get is from Morgan trying to goose ratings for his new show — the side the mainstream media wants you to see — Trump comes off as an unhinged maniac. [Video]
But thankfully — in the interest of an accurate and complete historical record — the Trump team made an audio recording of the interview that, lo and behold, does not show the former president “storming” off the set.
