The Constitution Creates a Republic, not
a Democracy

Democrat leaders speak often of “democracy” in hallowed terms, but rarely, if ever, do they mention, let alone, praise a republican form of government. President Biden insists “the United States is committed to strengthening our democracy.” Speaker Pelosi commands the nation to serve as “a symbol of democracy to the world.” Leader Schumer calls for “systemic democracy reforms . . . to save our democracy.” Senator Sanders harangues, “democracy must win.” Congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez perceives a “very real risk” that democracy will disappear. In reality, they use the term “democracy” as a cover for what is in fact authoritarian rule.

It's no coincidence that the countries with "people's" or "democratic" in their names are universally totalitarian states that oppress their people and have nothing to do with democracy.

Everything the author wrote is true. It is also irrelevant. The document of which he writes, the Constitution of the United States, is no longer operable. It has been nullified by “a long train of abuses and usurpations”.
We all know what must be done, but we are too afraid of our overlords to even speak of it.
May our chains rest lightly upon us.

Democracy is majority rule…no thought to minority rights.

Our education system along with the support of the media has manipulated the vast majority into believing that this country is a Democracy. Sorry folks but the idea and understanding that this country was founded and meant to be a Republic died years ago and is simply a memory for a very small minority. In addition, the political leadership along with several institutions, businesses, and elite dream of this country fulfilling Hitler's goal of creating a thousand-year Reich. Remember Hitler was voted/and appointed into office and the Nazi party was experts at manipulating elections. No, the idea and hope that America will ever return to the idea and governance of being a Republic are extremely slim.

The term 'democracy' appears exactly zero times in the documents that founded this nation.
The SOLE arm of government that was designed for the voice of the people was the aptly named House of Representatives. It was specifically to be filled by popular vote. Not the Senate. Not the presidency. Not the Judicial. Just the House of Representatives.
And the House was to be filled every 2 years so the people could learn from their mistakes. The Legislative Branch was the voice of the people (House) and the voice of REASON (Senate). The Senate was to temper the voice of the people and bring wisdom to the legislative process. Since the 17th Amendment the Senate has become the voice of the people v2.0 and it has been all downhill from that point forward.
The likes of Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, Sheldon Whitehouse, Rafael Warnock and Jon Ossoff would have never seen the inside of that chamber had the original intent of the framers been kept intact.

Democracy is the freedom to choose the government you want. Democracy is not 'mob rule' which is what we are witnessing now that's why all the talk of preserving the democracy by the left they really mean 'mob rule'.

This is a distinction without a difference in plebian language. If you vote, it's a democracy...period. That you elect a representative doesn't alter that fact. "Democracy" has been in general usage describing our form of government since the beginning. Our founders and leaders since have employed the term without challenge until recent years. I suppose we need to amend or footnote every one of their references in the archives for the purists.

There is some talk that the Democrats are scheming to dump Biden and Harris and are setting up a situation where Barack Obama would be appointed President, disregarding the spirit of the constitutional amendment limiting a President to two four year terms in office.
Why Obama? Well the leftist Democrats think Obama is so great with words that he could make Americans believe that them paying seven or eight dollars a gallon for gasoline is great, and “open borders” policies that amount to flooding the USA with tens of millions of poor and uneducated foreign origin future Democrat voters who would fit within the racial and ethnic categories of Democrat identity politics is greater still.
To do that, the Democrats will have to make their move pretty soon, and before the upcoming November election, that is if there is such an election. Because if there is a November election, it’s possible that the wimpy Republicans could take control of the Congress, and even they might not go along with any such leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat “coup” but you never know! Beyond that how would the majority of the American people react to such a “coup” perpetrated by the Democrats?

The bowling ball of the 17th amendment crashed into the nicely arranged pins of the republic and broke the system forever.
Senators are not supposed to represent the people. They're supposed to represent the rights and needs of their state. Senators who didn't stay tightly coupled to the legislatures of their state could be replaced in a heartbeat.
Now, senators are elected and loosely represent people and can't be replaced and don't give a hoot what their state wants or needs. Do you really think Utah wants a truly awful circuit court judge on the supreme court? The system was artfully broken at exactly the right spot to create the destruction of the republic.

8,
You are wrong. The word 'democracy' appears nowhere in the founding documents. Not in the Declaration if Independence or the Constitution. The words DOES appear in some of the writings of Jefferson but he uses the term as a warning and not an admonition.
Democracy started to be used around the start of the 20th century as Marxism was in vogue. Prior to then... everyone knew this was a Representative Republic and NOT a democracy.
Jefferson was right, BTW, when he stated that democracies end in chaos and mob rule. We are living that out at this very moment.

I never let this pass, even in casual conversation. ANY time someone talks about "democracy" I correct them, saying "We have never been a democracy, we are a republic. Very different things." Usually a shrug or eye roll, but I will NOT let it pass.

I'm the same way #13. It has been a thorn in my side for decades. It's usually a youngster or a democrat that does it.

The John Birch Society has been strongly advocating that we live in a constitutional republic and NOT a democracy since 1958 (or something like that). They have been called extremists by everyone slightly to the left ever since. They were and are correct.
