A federal judge rejected a new trial for Ghislaine Maxwell, who argued her sex trafficking case was tainted after it was revealed that one juror did not disclose he was a victim of child sex abuse. Judge Alison Nathan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York upheld Maxwell's conviction in a decision Friday. "His failure to disclose his prior sexual abuse during the jury selection process was highly unfortunate, but not deliberate," Nathan wrote. "The Court further concludes that Juror 50 harbored no bias toward the Defendant and could serve as a fair and impartial juror."

U.S. Navy officials have said a warship can’t be deployed because its commander has refused the COVID-19 vaccine.
The service said an East Coast guided-missile destroyer is “out of commission” after a Florida federal judge ruled that the Navy and Marine Corps cannot remove its officer for being unvaccinated against COVID-19.
The warship now remains docked in Norfolk, Virginia.
It comes after U.S. District Judge Steven Merryday, a George H. W. Bush nominee, ruled on Feb. 2 to bar Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and all other military officials from taking punitive action against the unnamed Navy officer, who sought religious exemptions to the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate.
The Secret Service is telling Republican investigators that it cannot find communications related to Hunter Biden’s travels for 2010, 2011, or 2013 — when President Joe Biden was the vice president. Republican Sens. People process traumatic events differently, but when kid victims lecture the entire nation over Constitutional rights with which they disagree and have no historical or contextual understanding of – nor grasp basic human nature and common sense – it comes across not as processing grief and horror and rather just…self-aggrandizement.

Police in Sacramento say six people are dead and nine injured after a shooting in the city's downtown area early Sunday morning.
Police said they located at least 15 victims of the shooting, including six people who died. Police alerted the public on Twitter that streets in downtown Sacramento near where the shooting unfolded were closed off.
