Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said in an interview with CNN that he was planning “a much deeper dive” into Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s record ahead of the Senate vote to confirm her to the Supreme Court.
Romney has long been known for voting much closer to the center than his GOP colleagues, and some Democrats view him as a potential swing-voter in favor of Jackson.
Romney said that he has not made the decision whether he will vote for her or not, but he was opposed to her nomination to the D.C. District Circuit Court last year. This time around, he promised to look much further into her track record

One of the former CIA officers who signed a letter claiming stories about a laptop allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden were disinformation says he helped swing the 2020 election from former President Donald Trump.
“I take special pride in personally swinging the election away from Trump,” John Sipher, who served for decades as a senior operations officer at the CIA, wrote in a recent post on Twitter.
“I lost the election for Trump? Well then I fell [sic] pretty good about my influence,” he also wrote.
Sipher and 50 other former U.S. intelligence officials signed the letter on Oct. 19, 2020, alleging that the effort to distribute its contents “has all the classic

A man convicted of child pornography distribution is grateful that Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson gave him a sentence lower than that recommended by prosecutors and sentencing guidelines.
Wesley Hawkins said he was displeased when Jackson sentenced him in 2013 but later reconsidered his view.

It’s a wrong direction to choose a Supreme Court Justice candidate based on race and gender instead of merit and qualifications, said Ben Carson, the Housing and Urban Developing Secretary under the Trump administration.
“So many people fought for such a long time to make sure that we had equality of opportunity. And a lot of blood was shed. A lot of people went to prison. Then we just turn around and sort of throw all that out, and start saying, ‘We’re going to make the qualification something over which a person has no control—their external characteristics,’ and that’s moving in the wrong direction,”

Three major Chinese and Russian communications technology firms were added to a list of national security threats by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) on March 25.
Russia’s AO Kaspersky Lab, China’s China Telecom (Americas) Corp, and China Mobile International USA, were added to the FCC’s “covered list” of technology and service providers that provide a threat to the United State and its people.
“Last year, for the first time, the FCC published a list of communications equipment and services that pose an unacceptable risk to national security, and we have been working closely with our national security partners to review and update this list,” said FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel.

Desperate to change the subject from how Joe Biden’s weak leadership and incoherent foreign policy set the stage for Vladimir Putin’s brutal war against Ukraine, many on the Left and in the mainstream media have resorted to a familiar tactic: Find a way to blame this crisis on President Trump—even though he has been out of office for 14 months.
The first attempt by liberals, like Washington Post editorial writer Eugene Robinson and former National Security Council staff member and Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Fiona Hill, was to claim that Trump’s national security policies, especially concerning Russia and NATO, emboldened Putin to invade Ukraine.

Patients with moderate COVID-19 appeared to benefit from early administration of aspirin, according to a new study.
Patients who were given aspirin on their first day in the hospital were less likely to die or experience blood clotting, researchers found.
Dr. Jonathan Chow with the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and other researchers analyzed data from 64 healthcare systems for the study.
Moderate COVID-19 was defined as not needing intensive care such as mechanical ventilation of oxygenation.
Out of 112,269 patients with moderate COVID-19, approximately 15,200 received aspirin on the first day of admission. The median duration of aspirin administration was five days.
