"Well, you all imagined it," Vice President Kamala Harris commented during a so-called clean-transit event, where she appeared with her fellow tautologist, Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg. "That's why we're here today -- because we have the ability to see what can be, unburdened by what has been, and then to make the possible actually happen."
When Harris and Transportation Secretary Pete get together, it's Platitudicon. As it was this week, when, as the reality of imminent historic gas price spikes was hitting Americans, the duo spent the day promoting electric cars, the Green New Deal and the Environmental Protection Agency's soon-to-be-tightened emissions standards.
When it comes to energy,

The "Let Them Eat Cake" reference is only off by about 180°. The cake reference was to the garbage "caked" around the rim of the pan after the palatable food has been dished out. It's more closely translated to let them eat garbage.

It’s not about saving the planet or climate change anymore than it’s been about COVID and vaccines.
It’s about CONTROL.

If you don't like high grocery prices you can do what rich liberals do and just eat in restaurants. Then, you won't have to buy groceries.

When Al Gore lives in a dark cave with a wood stick fire to save the planet AF1 flies with solar panels then I'll be convinced we made the right moves to save the planet. Putin on the other hand is on the verge of lighting it up with cosmic debris and radiation poisoning. You think Covid-19 was the end all but radiation poisoning is worse.

This entire administration is truly the most "unburdened" bunch of nitwits and oily snakes we have ever had.

They must think we are gullible idiots. But then the ease with which we accepted 81 million votes, who can blame them?

How about we get some rep to propose a bill to give everyone who turns in a gas burner a free Tesla. That seems in line with the government's solution to everything else.

An electric car just destroyed 4000 new vehicles and caused the ship it was on to sink. So, this save the planet vehicle just caused more pollution then all the high-performance gas guzzlers that were on the ship could have caused in their lifetimes.

I am no luddite but I want to see proven sustainable energy technology before I transition from proven "fossil fuels".
As far as the environment - how many are aware of the cobalt, lithium, rare earth and other battery technology resource mining techniques - and labor?

I can hear the Star Trek theme playing in the background...where everyone is prosperous and healthy, living a perfect life with zero vicissitudes. San Francisco is a spotless metropolis, apparently without cable cars. Life's hardest challenge is getting into Star Fleet Acadeny...wonder if they have galactic affirmative action to ensure a proper dispersion of Federation species. One wonders, exactiy what do earth humans to for work in the 25th Century...

I want my free Tesla! Actually, our government might be stupid enough to do that. Doubt I would want an EV anyway considering its limitations.

#10, you nailed it: lithium-ion batteries run the full wheelbase of EV cars, weigh around 900 pounds, and contain toxic substances like nickel, cobalt, lithium, and manganese.
You neglected to include the DISPOSAL of the batteries: Used up EV car batteries are hazardous waste. As electric vehicles manufactured 10 years ago reach the end of their life, their batteries could end up in landfills, potentially releasing toxic chemicals into the atmosphere.
AND there's this: The approximate amount of lithium on earth is between 30 and 90 million tons. That means we'll will run out eventually, but we're not sure when. PV Magazine states it could be as soon as 2040, assuming electric cars demand 20 million tons of lithium by then.

If we were to somehow survive the ludicrous Demorat "transition," the the road ahead, the answer is easy: Under the evil leadership of the CCP we would exist as a hellatious copy of middle ages fuedalism: farmed for reasons dreamed up by our overlords with our masters aware through tried and true electronics surveillance platforms of our every move, every likely move and if we by chance met someone new, programs would quickly game out every possible interaction that could occur and sentencing, no doubt would be immediate. As every approved new birth would be immediately injected with tracing means that would also hold an approved poison, there would no backlog at the death camps.
I guess the only good news would be that Soros, Schwab and their running dogs would not get to pull these levers of hell on earth for long, with luck they would be among the first few to test the system at the sharp end.

I was thinking what #9 said. If that isn't reason enough to not get an EV, I don't know just what it would take.

Push the greenies for details. How many charging stations and where will they be? How far can you drive on one charge? How are the batteries to be recycled and who will pay for that? Force them to admit that they have no plan, just a bumper sticker slogan.

I, for one, cannot afford an electric vehicle!! I also live in a condo complex that has NO charging stations on the property, nor are there any around town. Meanwhile, my little Toyota runs just fine, uses regular gas and gets pretty good gas mileage to boot!! When AF1 and the Beast are completely electric vehicles, then we'll talk. Otherwise, STHU!! And FJB for good measure!!
