The man who received a transplant of a genetically-modified pig heart in a first-of-its-kind surgery passed away Tuesday, only 2 months after he received the new heart.David Bennett, a 57-year-old man diagnosed with terminal heart disease, received the genetically-modified heart in a transplant operation on January 7. The University of Maryland Medical Center released a statement in the wake of Bennett’s death, saying that his condition had begun to deteriorate several days ago, and that he was given palliative care. The university also said he was able to communicate with family in his final hours.

If they perfect it, I’m sure a lot of lives will be extended. Wondering how many human experiments it will take?

His communication with family, "oink, oink, oink!" was difficult to translate. A death is not humorous but we should not be experimenting with swapping parts with animals. Too many people will end up like Joe Biden.

Was it recorded as another COVID death?

Dr. Moreau was vacationing on his island hideaway and could not be reached for comment.

I remember the first human heart transplant in 1967. The patient died 18 days later of pneumonia. Look at how far we've come in 55 years. It won't happen in my lifetime, but this procedure could become common practice in the future.

But I thought farm animals like cows and pigs were bad for the environment? No - enough with these human/animal hybrids - all barbaric research said for with our tax dollars so some researcher can write up a report and get published in some obscure medical magazine. We are all going to die someday from something.

For those who object to interspecies transplants; how is that more objectionable than wearing their skins and eating their body parts? (Devil’s advocate here).

#9, nice try at playing "devil's advocate."
This does not strike me as an animal rights issue as much as a compatibility issue.

One wonders what his doc told him his chances were. The transplant industry is a pretty sketchy one, but i think PETA's gonna put a stop to this pretty quick.

I met Dr. Bailey, (who transplanted “Baby Fae’s heart with that of a baboon), back in ‘78 (the year I met him, not the operation). I remember the ludicrous outrage of the animal rights crowd over the death of the baboon, not caring at all about the poor little baby girl. Dr. Bailey had no choice because there were no suitable human donors.

I may be overstating it, and some will say surely times have been worse, but I think the world is just about at its end. The ruling class is wicked and perverted with all kinds of sexual deviancy. Homosexuality is mild compared to the demented and perverted rejection of two sexes in favor of multiple made up genders. We're a hundred times worse than Sodom and Gomorrah. Evil is good, and good is evil. Queer is normal, and normal is queer. He's all merciful and long-suffering, but I dunno how much God's nostrils can take of this evil. It makes one question if today God can find even five righteous people in order to spare us His wrath.
