Russian president Vladimir Putin will recognize the independence of the eastern Ukrainian enclaves of Donetsk and Lugansk, which have have been under the de-facto control of pro-Russian separatists for years.
“The president of Russia said that he intended to sign the relevant decree in the near future,” the Kremlin announced on Monday. “The president of France and the Federal Chancellor of Germany expressed their disappointment with this development. At the same time, they indicated their readiness to continue contacts.”
Russia has amassed upwards of 150,000 troops on Ukraine’s borders

Thank you Mr. Putin for reestablishing the justification for NATO membership throughout the EU and especially in the Ukraine.

Will anyone else recognize the 'breakaway' states? China, Cuba, Iran, and Venezuela will, but they are tyrants just like Russia. Btw, how did they decide to breakaway from Ukraine? Did the majorities actually agree to this? Or was it jammed down the throats of the local populations? How long before Russia moves troops into both 'countries' for 'protection'.
Watch the Slow One and the Horizontal One meekly accept this deal. It makes America look weak. Heaven forbid America become great again!
Russia is in the driver's seat. They know it. Ukraine is on its own. Nobody will go to war over this. Any sanctions will be meaningless.

Putin is just using the Hitler/Nazi playbook from 1938-1939. This is the first phase, similar to the occupation of the Sudetenland.
Putting never would have tried to do this under PDJT, but he knows that Xiden will never do anything except issue meaningless statements. Already, France and Germany have responded: they are “disappointed.” Stand by for the official Brandon/Blinken response: EXTREMELY disappointed.
Let’s go, Brandon!!

Putin is setting a new standard of how to take over another country without an actual "war" type of invasion. Just send enough of you people into the areas that you wish to take over, stir up some separatist trouble and finally annex the area saying that he residents of the rea really want to be part of your country anyway. This seems to be exactly what Putin has done in Ukraine. If Mexico were smart, they would do the same thing with Southern California, Arizona, parts of Texas, and where ever else along the southern US border the illegal immigrants have sufficient numbers claim as a part of Mexico. Because that is what the people who live there (all of the illegals) want. Mexico gets lots of new land, nice infrastructure, nice cities, and it is all handed to them for free compliments of the Biden administration's non-existent border and immigration policies.

As soon as it happens Biden will send in billions of $$$’s for foreign aid to the new little countries and the lions share will go right to Putin.

Putin stole those sections of Ukraine last time he went to war with Ukriane. How much more will he steal next "bite"?
And soon, he'll "welcome them into Mother Russia." completing the Hitler-esque grab. And like with Hitler, everybody stands by and does nothing.

We rightfully question Brandon's mental acuity, but does anyone question Vlad's mental state?

A founding principle of this country, These United States, is that the US will support any peoples wishing to be free. To remain true to our own founding, the US should immediately recognize these break away regions, if the inhabitants truly wish to leave Ukraine.
And that will be my position when several states eventually decide to leave the union.

These separatist provinces, Donetsk and Lugansk, are indeed mostly Russian and they speak Russian, because Stalin re-populated the areas after sending the former Ukrainian residents of these areas to Siberia so that Russia could control the rich farmlands there.
It looks to me as if Putin took to heart Brandon's recent glib disclosure that there would likely be no major challenges from the NATO states so long as Russian troops amassed at the border did no more than make "limited incursions" into Ukraine. Anyone think Putie couldn't whip Brandon in a game of poker? Brandon telegraphs his negotiating strategies in press conferences!
