It doesn’t add up. Omicron’s distinguishing features are that it spreads fast and that the entire population is vulnerable to catching it. The only people with a decent degree of protection against infection are the boosted, and South Africa hasn’t rolled out boosters yet. Even if they had, plenty of boosted people here and abroad have tested positive. The latest example is Elizabeth Warren.
A virus that can infect everyone should be able to burn for a good long awhile even if it’s burning very hot.
So why have cases in South Africa dropped for five days in a row?

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin took to Fox News yesterday to let the White House know he was a big no on “Build Back Better.” Build Back Better is the profligate spending bill designed by Biden’s handlers to both bankrupt America and impose socialism, not surprisingly this bill is also the centerpiece of Biden’s domestic agenda. The left was outraged and the claims that Biden and Schumer had been snookered by Manchin were widespread and, as it seems, scripted. The use of the word “played” is everywhere. It is what detectives call “a clue.” Someone high in the Democrat party communications apparatus

San Diego – A judge ruled against the San Diego Unified School District Monday in a lawsuit challenging its vaccine mandate for students.
San Diego Superior Court Judge John Meyer said the district’s mandate, which does not permit religious or personal belief exemptions, contradicts state law, because implementing such mandates without exemptions can only be imposed by the state legislature.
Meyer also said that while students are required to receive some vaccinations in order to attend in-person school, adding COVID-19 to the list of required vaccinations without allowing personal belief exemptions is another area that lies only with the state.

We’ve extensively documented how the writing has been on the wall for D.C. Democrats for quite some time as Joe Biden’s poll numbers continue to tank, Kamala Harris’s woes worsen, and the Democrat infighting on Capitol Hill gets louder with no end in sight.
It’s gotten so bad that threats of retaliation by Democrat members of Congress against their colleagues in the House and Senate who opposed Biden’s Build Back Better agenda, effectively nuking it, are already becoming a thing.
With voter concerns sitting squarely on uncertainties about the U.S. economy on issues like worsening inflation, the ongoing supply chain crisis, and the gloomy

According to this piece in the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post is shedding readers at a rate that alarms its top executives:
The Post, like most major publications, experienced an audience surge during the Trump years, when readers flocked to stories about the controversial Republican administration. Now, the Post is facing a slump that has triggered some soul-searching at the paper, including over the need to invest more in coverage areas outside of politics, according to people familiar with the news outlet’s operations and internal documents viewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Senator Joe Manchin (D., W.Va.) on Monday dared Democrats to push him out of the party if they are unhappy with his views, one day after he announced he will not support President Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda, effectively killing the bill.
Asked on Hoppy Kercheval’s West Virginia radio show if he believes there is still a place for him in the Democratic party, Manchin replied: “I would like to hope that Democrats feel like I do. I’m fiscally responsible and socially compassionate.”
“Now if there are no Democrats like that, they ought to push me where they want me,” he added.

Two New York Times stories on Sunday portrayed the Republican Party as mired in extremism and partisanship, overwhelming supposedly non-ideological Democrats who just want to get vital things done. Jonathan Weisman’s year in review for Congress, “Congress Ends ‘Horrible Year’ With Divisions as Bitter as Ever,” began dramatically and didn’t let up in its painting of the Republican Party as uniquely irrational, perhaps even like a “cult”:
A congressional year that began with an assault on the seat of democracy ended at 4 a.m. Saturday with the failure of a narrow Democratic majority to deliver on its most cherished promises, leaving lawmakers in both parties wondering

Per a new report, the White House is preparing to surrender on COVID. What exactly the word “surrender” means in this context is up for some debate, but I’ve got some thoughts on the matter.
To get us there, though, the Biden administration is laying the groundwork to make the case for living with the coronavirus. That’s in stark contrast to the lofty promises Joe Biden made during the 2020 election, namely, that he’d “shut down the virus.” So is the administration actually surrendering to the virus itself? I wouldn’t say that because there was never any reality where we eradicated a virus that is clearly endemic and seasonal.

Never underestimate your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, even with a mutating virus afoot. Despite rising concerns over the omicron variant, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” not only shattered pandemic-era box office records; it became the third best opening of all time behind “Avengers: Endgame” ($357.1 million) and “Avengers: Infinity War" ($257.7 million).
The Sony and Marvel blockbuster grossed a stunning $253 million in ticket sales from 4,325 North American locations, according to studio estimates on Sunday, also setting a record for the month of December. The web-slinger’s success couldn’t have come sooner for a movie business that has had a rollercoaster 2021

Sen. Cory Booker said Sunday night that he tested positive for the coronavirus, despite receiving two doses of the vaccine and a booster shot, he announced.
The New Jersey senator is the latest member of the chamber to contract the virus along with Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) — who also tested positive for the virus after having received three shots.
“I learned today that I tested positive for COVID-19 after first feeling symptoms on Saturday. Fortunately, my symptoms have been relatively mild,” the Booker said in a statement.
“I’m beyond grateful to have received two doses of vaccine and, more recently, a booster

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is a nice guy. He did his best not to flame Joe Biden, despite Joe Biden falsely claiming that they had an agreement on Build Back Better (BBB) on the numbers — saying that was Biden’s statement, not his. Manchin has never said they had an agreement. Indeed, he has consistently said he was not there and had issues with it.
But the Biden team isn’t very bright. They took that attempt of Manchin to be polite and give them a little cover for lying and decided to double down even further on the lie. Not only that, they are now attacking

Yesterday, MSNBC host Yasmin Vossoughian hosted noted anti-Trump narrative weaver David Cay Johnston on her show Yasmin Vossoughian Reports to conjecture about a possible indictment of the left’s most reviled person ever: former President Donald J. Trump.
“Meanwhile, the Manhattan D.A.’s investigation into the Trump organization’s business practices appears to be picking up steam,” teased Vossoughianin her introduction. Apparently, some Forbes reporters had recently been ordered to testify to a grand jury about a cover story they once wrote about the Donald. The testimony comes mere weeks before Manhattan D.A. Cy Vance is slated to leave office, on “what could be a historic™
