“I Didn’t Pull the Trigger”

To whom do liberals go when they want to tell their career-threatening stories to a sympathetic listener? Well, to be fair, they have several choices, but George Stephanopoulos is perhaps the favorite. So Alec Baldwin sought out Stephanopoulos to explain how he came to shoot and kill Halyna Hutchins. Today ABC News released a preview clip of that interview: In his first interview since the deadly Oct. 21 shooting, a tearful Baldwin told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos he has “no idea” how the live bullet ended up in the firearm. “The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” Baldwin said in a preview

Double action revolver. It had to be cocked and fired. Nice try but why was it pointed at a person and it was you who pointed it.

While it is possible to halfcock a single action colt, let the hammer fall and it go off with out the trigger being pulled, he had already drawn, cocked, and dryfired the gun several times(according to witness statements), if he had merely thumbed the hammer short of locking back and let it fall, it would not be over a new chamber, but rather the one he had already dry fired. He drew it, cocked it, and pulled the trigger and that is that. BUT... IF he was being treated as any other "Whyte Man", mention would constantly be made that he has several times in the past assaulted individuals for merely trying to take his photo...and these two were pointing a camera at him.

To resemble a Colt Revolver commonly used in the Wild West during that era the firearm in Baldwin’s hand would have been a single action revolver probably of recent manufacture. For the firing pin to come in contact with a round of ammunition, in this case the cartridge contained in the cylinder that was lined up with the barrel. Two things would have had to happen, first the revolver would have to be cocked usually by the potential shooter’s thumb or other hand, which would draw back the hammer to the cocked position in preparation for firing; and then the shooter would have to squeeze the trigger which would cause the hammer to move forward under spring pressure, allowing the firing pin to strike the primer contained in the cartridge causing the revolver to fire. At this stage who knows what really happened when that revolver was in Baldwin’s hand? Forensic laboratory tests will tell if the revolver was and is defective in any way. That will tell the story.

#12 nails it. The revolver is a single action, which requires manually cocking the hammer, pounds of force over about 1.5 inches travel. Can't be done without intent. Then to fire, the trigger must be pulled, typically 5 to 6 pounds of force on most of this kind of factory guns. If the gun was broken or altered, that is easily detected by a competent expert inspection after the fact, like now. My bet....Baldwin's just a liar.

Single or double action revolver, it doesn't matter. The revolver cannot overcome the laws of physics and move its parts without external help. Someone had to move the hammer to the rear or pull the trigger to fire the weapon. Only one person could have done that, the person who had the revolver in his/her hand. You did it you lowlife sack of crap.

Senate passes funding bill despite vaccine

Senate lawmakers voted Thursday night to approve a bill that funds the government through Feb. 18, avoiding a government shutdown with roughly 24 hours to spare despite a partisan clash regarding President Biden's federal vaccine mandate. The Senate voted 69-28 in favor of the continuing resolution, which approves government funding at the prior year’s levels until a new bipartisan agreement is reached. The resolution includes $7 billion in new funding to support Afghan refugees. The bill now proceeds to Biden’s desk for final approval.

An outlier? Perhaps, as Republican-leaning Trafalgar has been one of the tougher polling series for Joe Biden ever since his bug-out from Afghanistan. On the other hand, this is still the worst result yet from this series, and that direction mirrors most of the rest of the polling over the last three-plus months. In yesterday’s results, Biden hit 36% job approval and still appears to be searching for a floor. More problematic is that most voters who don’t approve are passionate about it; Biden gets a disapproval rating of 59%, with 52.2% strongly disapproving. Biden doesn’t inspire much middle ground

There are self-owns and then there are glorious self-owns, and the cast and crew in the Biden administration have gotten unquestionably good at committing the “glorious” varieties of such things over the last 11 months. For instance, there was the one over the summer where the White House Twitter account actually bragged about the price of BBQs going down a whole 16 cents from the year prior. For those who missed it, take a look: I mean assuming it was even true, is that something anyone would want to strut on social media over? New Texas law limiting abortion takes

A new law limiting access to abortion pills in Texas went into effect on Thursday, worrying pro-choice supporters who fear the law will further restrict abortion access in an already restrictive state. SB4 bans abortion providers from providing a pill to terminate a pregnancy after 49 days, and also does not allow for the drugs to be shipped by mail, meaning women can't order the pills from across state lines. The law would have a big effect, considering more than a third of women in 2017 used abortion pills, according to the Guttmacher Institute. The bill, which had more than a dozen sponsors, was passed on a 82-41 vote in the Senate.
