While Nancy Pelosi hopes to pass the so-called “Build Back Better” bill tonight in the House, some bad news came down the line from the CBO.
Previous commitments were made by some “moderate” Democrats to vote for the bill only if the budget score came back deficit-neutral. But the preliminary numbers are out, and it looks like the CBO has completely debunked the White House’s “it costs zero dollars” talking point.
At first, Democrats were cheering on social media after seeing the following post from the CBO.

The House moved toward a vote on President Joe Biden’s social safety net and climate plan Thursday night after a key analysis said it would add to budget deficits over a decade.
Following the release of the Congressional Budget Office estimate, House Democrats teed up a final vote on the legislation as soon as Thursday night. A handful of centrist House Democrats wanted to see the nonpartisan CBO’s projection of how the Build Back Better Act would affect long-term deficits before they voted for the plan.
The $1.7 trillion bill would increase the budget deficit by $367 billion over the years 2022 to 2031, according to the CBO.

As RedState reported earlier this afternoon, the judge in the Kyle Rittenhouse case set off another round of consternation by banning leftwing network MSNBC from the courtroom. Immediately, leftwing figures moved to once again accuse him of bias and of being “MAGA.” You know, because enforcing basic safety rules means he must be a biased Trump fan. Of course, Judge Schroeder had an excellent reason to do what he did. The MNSBC journalist in question was following the jury bus, attempting to take pictures of them. He even ran a red light while doing so, and there is absolutely no reason to do that

We reported Wednesday on the embarrassing story of how President Joe Biden’s handlers had scrapped a so-called “Three Amigos” press conference that had been scheduled to take place today between him, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador after meetings in Washington, D.C.
When asked by a reporter yesterday why the presser, which has been a tradition between the three countries going back several years, was canceled, no good reason was given by White House deputy press secretary Chris Meagher. But Justin Sink, the Bloomberg News reporter who brought up the issue,

The gun industry is experiencing something of a golden age. More than 8 million people became first-time gun owners in 2020 alone. Driving the increase are women, who purchased 40 percent of those weapons.
Significantly, the new gun owners aren’t buying hunting rifles. They’re buying semi-automatic handguns for personal protection. The spike in violent crime across America has convinced fence-sitters on the gun control issue that maybe it’s time to stop listening to politicians who are enabling violent mobs to run wild in our city streets and think of their families and their own personal protection.
Not surprisingly, Gallup has reported a trend against gun control. Support

He’s fallen, and he can’t get up. Last month’s Quinnipiac poll showed Joe Biden’s job approval at 37/52, which at the time looked like an outlier. Instead, the normally Dem-friendly poll delivered even worse news for Biden today and Democrats in general, especially when it comes to independents:
Americans give President Biden a negative 36 – 53 percent job approval rating, while 10 percent did not offer an opinion. It’s the lowest job approval rating he’s received in a Quinnipiac University national poll. In mid-October, he received a negative 37 – 52 percent job approval rating.
In today’s results, Republicans disapprove 94 – 4 percent, Democrats approve 87 – 7 percent,

Lyon, France — In China, she enjoyed the privileges that flowed from being married to a senior member of the governing elite. Her husband was a top police official in the security apparatus that keeps the Communist Party in power, so trusted that China sent him to France to take up a prestigious role at Interpol.
But Meng Hongwei, the former Interpol president, has now vanished into China’s sprawling penal system, purged in a stunning fall from grace. And his wife is alone with their twin boys in France, a political refugee under round-the-clock French police protection following what she suspects was an attempt

We reported yesterday that an FBI whistleblower had leaked some disturbing information to Congress. The information was an email showing that, contrary to Attorney General Merrick Garland’s testimony before Congress that the DOJ/FBI wasn’t treating parents objecting to school board actions as “domestic terrorists,” their Counterterrorism unit was in fact involved in looking into the issue, and putting “threat tags” on all “investigations and assessments of threats specifically directed against school board administrations, board members, teachers, and staff.”
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) demanded that Garland answer why this was different from Garland’s prior testimony

President Joe Biden has become infamous both here at home and on the world stage for being gaffe-prone during public appearances where cringe-inducing moments are standard fare, including the times when Biden makes up stories out of whole cloth, utters extremely inappropriate comments that no one can explain, seems to forget what he’s supposed to say and/or forgets the names of world leaders as they’re listening to him speak.
In many instances, his handlers have had to step in and take over, aggressively herding the media away like cattle during a roundup, awkwardly upstaging the leader of the free world at a time when this country needs a confident leader

Onetime White House strategist Stephen Bannon moved to plead not guilty Wednesday to criminal contempt of Congress charges after he failed to comply with a subpoena from the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Bannon was indicted by a federal grand jury Friday, facing two counts: one for failing to appear for an Oct. 14 deposition before the panel and another for refusal to provide documents.
The filing anticipates an arraignment scheduled for Thursday for Bannon in which he was expected to plead not guilty. His lawyers filed a motion Wednesday to enter the not guilty plea and skip the arraignment

That the media wasn’t objective is something we already knew, but thanks to Project Veritas we now can see proof that objectivity is actually being pushed out by the companies who bring you the news.
A whistleblower named Brett Mauser came to Project Veritas from the CBS affiliate in San Antonio (KENS 5) and delivered shocking footage of training and instruction efforts from the station’s parent company Tegna, a company that owns CBS affiliates in San Antonio, Houston, and 62 other news stations across the country.
Within the footage, you can see diversity and training officers instructing, pressuring, and even intimidating employees to leave behind objectivity in journalism and embrace

Washington — The House on Wednesday voted to censure Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., after he posted an animated video that depicted him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and attacking President Joe Biden.
The House voted 223-207, with only two Republicans voting in favor of the censure — Reps. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois and Liz Cheney of Wyoming.
The resolution also removes Gosar from the two House committees he serves on, Oversight and Reform and Natural Resources.
"The glorification of the suggestion of the killing of a colleague is completely unacceptable," Cheney told reporters
