The Supreme Court announced Monday it would not hear a challenge over a Catholic hospital declining to provide transgender surgery, leaving in place the lower court’s ruling in favor of the transgender man. A transgender man, Evan Minton, sued Dignity Health after the hospital declined to perform his hysterectomy.
He received the surgery three days later at a non-religious hospital but filed a lawsuit in California claiming he was discriminated against. The lower courts ruled in his favor and against the hospital, which asked the justices to review the case.(Snip)The majority of the justices declined to get involved. Justices Neil M. Gorsuch, Clarence Thomas and Samuel A. Alito

"Dignity Health know that LGBTQ+ people have long faced serious discrimination in health care and other realms--so we are proud to offer you respectful, welcoming, knowledgeable, non-discriminatory care."
This is from the company's home page. It hardly comports with their claimed First Amendment reason for declining the "man's" surgery.

Its done for a reason. This freak of a sub human could have gone anywhere for his surgery. It picked a Catholic Hospital knowing it would be turned down, thus the lawsuit. A lawsuit designed to go after a religious institution. You see these atheists will do anything to hurt a religious group. The same with the baker who refused to make a wedding cake for gays. Got it..

Not only is the court's decision disappointing, but it is discouraging to see the Washington Times adopt (and thereby acquiesce to) the characterization of this complainant being a "he/him" rather than a "her". Shouldn''t courts at any level take judicial notice of the fact of gender, just as they would that the planet is round and that dogs are not cats? To accept the language of the insane left is to concede the issue.

This was about a woman who wanted an elective hysterectomy. The hospital had the right to reject unnecessary surgery for reasons that had nothing to do with transgenders--liability, use of limited resources, especially with COVID still out there. Would they have to do elective mastectomies, too?

So, it is okay for a couple of western US hospitals to deny unvaxxed people transplants without repercussions, but boy refuse to surgically mutilate a mentally ill person and you are in tight with this court. One is mental illness, the other is pretty much condemnation to an early death. My sympathies are with those denied their transplants.

For their first 26 years, Catholic Healthcare West was an official ministry in the Catholic Church, choosing in 2012 to abandon that, change its name to "Dignity Health" (implying that the Church's stand against the heresy of "gender" activism denied the dignity of the gender-confused), and adjust its mission to be overtly supportive of LGBTQWERTY, which included things just like this. So this cannot be cast as the definitive test of our religious freedoms, #1 notwithstanding.
Denying doctors and nurses the right to recuse themselves from performing abortions is a far clearer deprivation of religious freedom than this, and I've had more than one Catholic nurse come to me for counseling recently after being forced to assist an abortion at the threat of being fired.

How can you do a Hysterectomy on someone who does not have a uterus, ovaries, and all of the other female parts that are usually removed during the surgery? This would have been an unneeded operation to remove part that were already not there. How the courts could not take any of this into account is beyond me. This Transgender BS is really getting ridiculous. Will the man/woman later sue the doctors who did it's surgery because they never got their period or were unable to conceive children?

Respect people that disagree with you. If the Catholic hospital does not want to do a surgery, go somewhere else. If differences are not respected, then there really aren't any free choices.

Gender dysphoria often results in disastrous voluntary surgical disfigurement where the bewildered patient undergoes the horrible experience of removing organs that are functioning normally in the utterly false belief they are altering their biological physical being to conform with their "feelings". What a sad life they are seeking. Physical, mental and emotional trauma awaits these troubled souls. The medical facilities and surgeons that refuse to participate in these disastrous procedures should be commended for their caring and compassion for these foolish people.

There is no substitute for winning elections. Courts only rubber-stamp elite opinion. They do not bother looking at the law or constitution except for phrases to quote as window dressing.
