The Senate GOP on Monday blocked a measure that would raise the debt ceiling. The bill needed 60 “yea” votes to overcome the filibuster and open debate. The vote total was 48 ‘yeas’ to 50 ‘nays’ – and Schumer blew a gasket. Schumer is expected to bring another vote to the floor later this week before government funding expires at 11:59:59 pm et Thursday. (Tweet) AP reported: Republican senators blocked a bill Monday night to keep the government operating and allow federal borrowing, but Democrats aiming to avert a shutdown are likely to try again — at the same time pressing ahead on President Joe Biden’s big plans

If Schumer is unhappy, I am happy,

Refreshing to see that republicans can muster the fortitude to display a little spine on occasion, even the bootlick RINOs. If this keeps up the RINOs, masquerading as conservatives, can bamboozle the public once again for donations. Is there an election some time soon? (s/o).

Saw it elsewhere but it’s too good not to pass on, so here it is: If biteme’s $3.5 trillion dollar spending boondoggle is going to cost zero (he says it’s paying for itself) why do we have to raise the debt limit?

NO, Mitch, we don't support a Continuing Resolution either!!!
NO to Debt Ceiling increase. NO to a Continuing Resolution. NO to the 3.5 trillion dem goody grab bag bill and NO to the infrastructure bill that does nothing for infrastructure!
Shut the government dawn and keep it shut. They'll do less harm that way!

Hopefully, republicans will continue to vote no. Any shutdown will be owned by the democrats. They're the majority party so this will all be on them. By the way, when government shuts down, SS checks and other payments continue to go out. I wonder if they'll try and shut down national parks and the WWII memorial in DC like they were when the government was shut down under Obama?

I like blowing gaskets especially when it's Schumer's gasket being blown.
Shut down the government it's totally useless anyway. Let them live like me at the end of each month on my fixed income.
I can't have a continuing resolution or raise my debt ceiling so why should the government. Make them operate on what they have now, the bunch of buzzards.

Latest is that McConnell will cave on this. This Harlem Globetrotters v Washington Generals globalist entertainment show will continue until we the people stop it.
As long as the donors wield more party power than the constituents, the GOP will never save this nation. Never. Prove me wrong .. PLEASE!
New party. A new party that bans corporate and large individual donations, and is funded entirely by donations that middle class members can afford. Charge a minimum ($100-$250 or so) to become a voting member. That'll provide adequate resources, while keeping globalists, leftists, and other faux members away. (They won't want to fund it if they can't control it.)
$100 x 10 Million = $1 Billion - where do you think the mega-donors' money ultimately comes from?
Remember, you don't have to be a party member to vote for its candidates in the general election. The framers warned against political parties in the first place. (Even though many of them succumbed to the temptation soon afterward.)

Washington DC is the #1 enemy of the American people. Washington needs to suffer a fatal intestinal blockage that stops it from ------ all over the nation. Schumer needs to drop dead without delay. .
