Testifying before the Senate Armed Services committee Tuesday, head of U.S. Central Command General Frank McKenzie confirmed that he initially recommended President Biden maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan, contradicting the president’s claim that the military unanimously recommended total withdrawal.
McKenzie also warned that a full withdrawal would lead inexorably to the collapse of the Afghan forces and government.
Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Mark Milley, also present at the hearing, echoed McKenzie’s assertion, saying they both believed that a small footprint should be maintained until the Taliban complied with certain conditions for withdrawal. While neither general would say explicitly that they conveyed that opinion personally to President Biden,

Washington — In the final days of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, a top American general met Taliban leaders in Qatar and warned them to keep their forces out of Kabul for a few more days or else face the threat of U.S. airstrikes.
Gen. Frank McKenzie, the head of U.S. Central Command, sat across from Taliban leader Abdul Ghani Baradar and showed him a map with a circle around Kabul, about 20 to 30 kilometers (12.4 to 18.6 miles) outside the city.
McKenzie told Baradar that Taliban fighters had to stay outside the circle or the United States would strike them.

As we previously reported, Joe Biden is going all-in with this ridiculous claim, suddenly, that his $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation bill costs “zero dollars.” He wasn’t alone in trying to push this claim. As we pointed out, he had Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) parroting the claim. Now, other Democrats have jumped aboard the narrative train including Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), the head of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. Rep. Alan Lowenthal (D-CA) signed on board as well. Here’s White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki trying to sell the same claim. But, of course, what would a Democratic agenda narrative be without help from their buddies

It is a basic rule of politics that if there is a government shutdown, it is the Republicans’ fault. If a Republican president or governor vetoes Democratic spending bills and portions of the government are briefly shuttered, it is the Republicans’ fault. Conversely, if a Republican Congress or legislature passes spending bills that a Democratic president or governor vetoes because they are not large enough, it is also the Republicans’ fault.
We now see this pattern play out in Washington, where the Democrats control the presidency, the House and the Senate, and still don’t seem to be able to pass a continuing resolution to temporarily fund

Former University of Georgia and National Football League star Herschel Walker is fast becoming one of the leading ball-carriers for the conservative movement. He appeared in Perry, Ga., Saturday with former President Donald Trump and other conservatives at a “Save America” rally.
It only makes sense for Americans to support conservative ideals, Walker told the fired-up audience: "People always ask me what qualifies me to run for this office, and I said, 'Well you’re right, I’m an American.’" The former Heisman Trophy winner said being conservative is just part of being an American. He had the crowd firmly with him, as people chanted “run, Herschel, run:”

Monday’s evening newscasts were a demonstration of which broadcast networks could follow the Biden administration’s orders the best after Press Secretary Jen Psaki scolding the White House press pool for accurately calling the rollout of COVID booster shots “confusing.” ABC’s World News Tonight and CBS Evening News were good teacher’s pets and omitted the reality from their coverage, but NBC Nightly News bucked as they highlighted states that were widening the eligibility range.
We know of Psaki’s order to the press pool thanks to a soundbite from Fox News Channel’s Special Report and White House correspondent Peter Doocy:

The multi-trillion dollar price tag on what the Democrats are calling regular and human “infrastructure” bills is in the headlines, but if the legislation passes the change, it will bring will come at a cost to the American way of life.
And even if only some of the far left’s wish list becomes law, everyone will face a societal shift on a number of fronts, including the expansion of the federal government to mandate health, education, and child care freebies and benefits.
As Breitbart News has reported, the left-wing of the Democrat Party claim that taxing corporations and the wealthy — who already pay the majority of taxes — will foot

President Joe Biden voiced doubt Monday that his two-tracked $5 trillion agenda would pass the House of Representatives by the end of the week.
“Well, it may not be by the end of the week,” he told reporters. “I hope it’s by the end of the week.”
Biden’s comments undercut House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s insistence that the top three pieces of legislation need to pass this week, as she fights to resolve infighting in her party between House moderates and the far left.
“This week, we must pass a Continuing Resolution, Build Back Better Act and the BIF,” she wrote to her House colleagues

The radical left’s multitrillion-dollar legislative agendas are greatly lacking support from voters, Heritage Action polling data provided exclusively to Breitbart News revealed.
While President Biden claims his $3.5 trillion agenda will cost “zero dollars” — a statement directly contradicted by a Texas Public Policy Foundation study showing it will result in the loss of millions of jobs while generating $4.5 trillion in debt — Americans do not appear to support the massive spending agenda.
According to the Heritage Action survey, most voters, 71 percent, consider the national debt, which sits at over $28 trillion, an emergency, including a majority of both independents and Democrats — 70 percent and 63 percent, respectively.

Senate Republicans blocked a House-passed bill to suspend the debt limit and avert a government shutdown from advancing in the Senate on Monday.
The move comes after Republicans had insisted that Democrats act alone to address the debt limit and leaves Congress without a clear plan to keep the government open with the threat of a potential shutdown looming by the end of the week.
Government funding is set to expire on September 30, and the stopgap bill the House approved last week would extend funding and keep the government open through December 3. In addition, the measure includes a debt limit suspension through December 16, 2022. The clock is ticking

The people of Norway celebrated the end of coronavirus restrictions on Sunday after an abrupt announcement from the prime minister.
According to the Associated Press (AP) the celebrations in some of Norway’s biggest cities that police were deployed not to punish people for wearing masks but to quell the “dozens of disturbances and violent clashes” as people piled into the streets, bars, restaurants, and nightclubs.
Rowdy celebrations by hundreds of citizens across Norway started Saturday afternoon and lasted until the early hours of Sunday. Police said unrest was reported in several places,

Infrastructuremas hasn’t been canceled … at least not yet. The prospects for the bipartisan infrastructure bill don’t exactly look cheery, however, as Nancy Pelosi caved at least in part to the progressive House caucus. Instead of the vote scheduled today for the $1.2 trillion bipartisan bill, Pelosi has pushed it off to Thursday — the same day that Congress has to act to forestall a government shutdown:
Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California said on Sunday night that the House would vote on a bipartisan $1 trillion infrastructure bill on Thursday, giving Democrats more time to reach a consensus on President Biden’s sprawling domestic policy package.
