Derek Chauvin plans to appeal his conviction and sentence for the murder of George Floyd — arguing the judge abused his discretion in critical points in the case, according to documents filed Thursday. The former Minneapolis police officer said in the court filing that he intends to appeal on 14 grounds. One claim made by Chauvin in the notice to appeal is that Judge Peter Cahill abused his discretion by denying him a request to move the trial out of Hennepin County because of pretrial publicity. Chauvin, 45, also claimed Cahill abused his discretion when he denied requests to postpone the trial or grant a new one —

I’m not sure there is anything in his falling upwards life that he hasn’t lied about or inflated like a party balloon. From his lifeguarding days to inflating his education, to the ugly and verifiably false claim that his daughter and first wife were killed by a drunk driver. She was at fault and the other driver wasn’t drunk.

A majority of likely voters believe the radical left is using the Chinese coronavirus pandemic as a “Trojan horse for permanent socialism,” a Rasmussen Reports survey released Monday found.
The survey asked respondents if they agreed or disagreed with the following statement: “The radical left … want to use this terrible but temporary pandemic as a Trojan horse for permanent socialism. And President Biden, who ran as a unifying moderate, is either powerless to stop them or does not wish to.”
A majority of likely voters, 59 percent, said they agree with that statement. Of those, 43 percent “strongly” agree.
The Democrats keep saying the quiet part out loud.
During a Sunday morning interview with far-left Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, Biden DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the Biden administration opposes the border wall because it’s a “proud tradition” for the United States to let people in illegally through the southern border.
“Why did you allow them in the country in the first place? Why didn’t you build – forgive me – a wall? Or a fence, from stopping this flood of people from coming across the dam. It looks like a highway when they cross the Rio Grande,” Wallace asked.

The study from the Rural Policy Research Institute's (RUPRI) Center for Rural Health Policy found that as the summer ended, the coronavirus infection and mortality rates of rural and urban communities began to diverge.
RUPRI noted in its study that the initial surges of COVID-19 cases at the start of the pandemic were largely concentrated in urban areas. Subsequent surges saw increases in both urban and rural parts of the U.S.

I for one am shocked that Tucker Carlson is still alive. I cannot believe that Tucker Carlson has not "committed suicide" with three bullets to the back of the head. I'm stunned that a drunk hit-and-run driver (who was never found) did not kill Tucker Carlson (snip) In other words, I am very, very surprised that the Deep State has not taken Tucker Carlson out. Maybe the angels are busy protecting him. Maybe it's through God's grace, because Tucker is taking on the Deep State in a big and ferocious way.
