Joe Biden has badly, visibly bungled America’s withdrawal from Afghanistan. He has compounded the problem with his sluggish and dishonest public statements. This has gone so badly that even people and institutions that are normally sympathetic to Biden and his party have noticed. American allies have been appalled, and vocal about it. What is slowly dawning on people is that Biden’s critics were right about him all along. Not since James Buchanan has America had a president who came so prepared by experience for the job, yet had so little clue how to do it. That reality will be shoved from consciousness soon enough by people with a professional stake

Please tell us National Review of some of Joe Biden's "experiences " that so qualified him for the job. What a crock of hogwash ,as far as the National Review was concerned Biden wasn't mean old Trump.

First sentence should read: Susan Rice and Obama have badly bungled America's withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Which is worse? Joe Biden is not in charge, meaning the government is run by “his” team. Or Joe Biden IS in charge and he ignores his team?
The first is terrifying, but the second is even worse.

Better read the whole thing. You’ll get to this:
Yet, longtime Biden-watchers knew better. Two sets of critiques of Biden have followed him over the course of his career, and Republicans and conservatives have hardly been the only ones to level them. First were the things people noticed about Biden before 2019. For all his time-serving in Washington, Biden was widely understood to be a lightweight, a fabulist, a plagiarist, an exaggerating braggart, a walking gaffe machine, a purveyor of malarkey who covered his inch-deep grasp of everything with his Irish charm and his ability to talk fast and at length until the listener had long since lost track of the topic. Biden rarely had ideas of his own, and when he did, they were usually the subject of mockery. His capacity for filling airtime at Senate hearings without actually saying anything was legendary. Yet, as Clarence Thomas and others warned, Biden could also be two-faced, reassuring people with promises in private and breaking them in public.
That is what this article is about.

Interesting article. His history is a bit off though. FTA: "Barack Obama was in high school in Hawaii in the years that led up to the fall of Saigon." No, he wasn't, not if he graduate in 1979. Or perhaps he knows something we don't about Obama's history.

The writers at NR have been AntiTrump since 2016. What I want to know is: who would they have wanted to be president in 2016? Rubio?,Cruz?, Hillary? If any readers are subscribers to NR please ask in one of their article comment sections.

For those branding Dan McClaughlin as another Rich Lowry, he is a longtime writer and lawyer who was an editor at RedState and had a column at The Federalist. When he says “we” he means “we”….
Read the article. It’s pretty clear he - like we - never had any use for Joe Biden. That’s 47 years in the Senate...

Re #9, Obama was enrolled in Punahou from 5th grade (1971) through 12th grade (1979). He’d have been in junior high school grades during the years that lead up to the fall of Saigon and a freshman in the year that it fell (April 1975)

Here is the entire paragraph - spoon fed - on who was where in the years leading up to the fall of Saigon. McLaughlin used it to make an excellent point.
Barack Obama was in high school in Hawaii in the years that led up to the fall of Saigon. Donald Trump was still just another no-name real estate developer from Queens. George W. Bush was packing off to Harvard Business School. Bill Clinton was fresh out of law school and teaching in Arkansas. Jimmy Carter was winding down his single term as governor of Georgia, still unknown on the national stage. Ronald Reagan was leaving behind his governorship of California and gearing up for his first serious national campaign. But Joe Biden was already in D.C. helping shape the congressional policy that tied the hands of Gerald Ford while Saigon was overrun.
While many hack away at McLaughlin, I’d be happy to hear that he was a flaming liberal writing this kind of scathing piece on Joseph R. Biden, Jr. It would be even more powerful if that were the case. But he isn’t a flaming liberal.

As an experienced "caregiver" of a demented parent, I can say with no doubt whatsoever that the person within who we see released by the ravages of a demented brain - that demented person we see is in fact the true human being whose character we have observed for an entire life. Some, revealed to be who they are at their core are revealed to be exactly the same person we knew and loved, while there are others who can no longer maintain their facade which has covered up the unpleasant, even cruel and inhuman person they actually have been at THEIR core for their entire lives.

Biden's has been senile for half a decade at least, probably longer. Democrats and the ;MSM were aware of this yet pushed for the election of this imbecile aka moron...in the medical sense of those words.

Then at best, #12, Obama was in HS in the months leading up to the fall of Saigon. I believe the writer said years.

A very informative article but I knew most or all of this. Being close to this snake's age I followed him all along. Biden is a low IQ buffoon idiot but a dangerously braggart vindictive liar. I fought a war was wounded and returned home all for naught according to this heap of cow dung. It's happening again and if this goes over without a 'peep' this Republic is truly over. God bless America with hopes that it's cancers are abolished. Just pray. I despise this man worse than anyone on earth.

Bai-den Zhou has pretended to hold public office for 50 years. In that time he has done irreparable damage to the United States. He will be rewarded with statues, public adulation, praise, high honor, and a number of streets and buildings will be named for him. He will have special chapter written in history books about his nobility and his excellence. He will be held up as living proof of why we need mediocre people to serve in high office. There will be photo albums of all the young women whom he has fondled and sniffed. Dictionaries will be written to assist us in understanding his utterances (I think he was supposed to be speaking English, but it did not seem right, somehow). I hope he got his a** wiped.
There will be seminars covering the work of Dr. Jill. She has done so much for education in the U S. I don't know what, but they will have to find something.
Lunch buckets in the millions will be distributed to children in his honor. Amtrak will be renamed Bidentrak in honor of his countless trips to Delaware.
He has not yet lost Taiwan, but he has sent Mattress Back to Asia to conduct that operation. Soon we will learn that there is One China, and Taiwan is a province. All those who love freedom there will be dead, just like those who love freedom in Talibanistan.
There is only one problem. He is lost, and we don't know where to find him. The lid has come down, and he is nowhere to be found.
