Mike Richards has announced he won't be hosting Jeopardy!, days after reports detailed sexist and other inappropriate comments he made in his former role as a podcast host.
"I will be stepping down as host effective immediately," Richards said in an email to staff that was provided to NPR on Friday.

The consensus among Jeopardy fans was that Lavar Burton was the most popular of the guest hosts and would probably make a good replacement. His philosophy is ultra New Age but he doesn't seem to be active in any suspicious movements like BLM or LBTGQwhatever rights.

I know nothing about this guy, but I'm really weary of the cancel culture.

Wife and I are fans. Thought Mike did a very good job. Neither of us understand the love for Burton. He was a big letdown. At least he beat Dr oz. Rogers was actually 2nd choice

Amazingly, Richard Dawson was a big lib, who campaigned for George McGovern. Many of the radicals of our day, like the Clinton's, cut their teeth in the McGovern campaign. They lost 49 states, ran the victor out of office, and have enslaved us. Dawson is glad he's gone, but he played his part in this.

Does anybody watch "Family Feud" with Steve Harvey these days. The show is positively scatalogical. I realize Jeopardy is supposed to be for smart people but it's still just a TV game show. Just another cancel culture scalp to get LeVar Burton installed.

So they dug up Alex's old shows and put them on for this week. Hopefully they will get back to work next week. BTW......the local stations in Houston never miss a chance to preempt Jeopardy for anything even slightly newsy.

We will see what they do. I watch minimal tv now but do regularly watch Jeopardy. If they surrender to the Woke crowd, I'll have an extra half hour of free time per day.

They had some real dimwits guest hosting that show - katie couric? really? Savannah guthrie, there are 2 great thinkers for you.
actually I though Mike was the best but his comments were considered anti-Semitic and anti-Asian, I don't know exactly but his "Looking back now, there is no excuse, of course, for the comments I made on this podcast and I am deeply sorry." Should have been enough.
Why doesn't Jeopardy hire a new fresh face???

A few weeks ago, Lavar Burton said something like he would be devastated" if he did not get Jeopardy. Right then I knew that that was one of those "signals" that really mean "I better be the new host." I liked Richards because he didn't bring any baggage with him. Anderson Cooper? Curic, and Guthrie? Yuck. Most of them acted so surprised when a contestant answered correctly.
Burton think he's some intellectual because he played Kunta Kinte and hosted Reading Rainbow.
#13 is right. There will never be another Rush or Alex. The world is dumber for their loss. I miss them both more than I thought possible.

I've told family and friends for some time now that the next Jeopardy host would be black. Maybe I'm not wrong yet.

In the article, there is a link in blue "The Ringer reported" which takes you to a lengthy article which delves into a rather eye-opening history of Richard's lengthy career in the entertainment industry. Very informative...seems there is quite a history here.

This really ticks me off. Richards was the best one of all the guest hosts, but reading other sources, some people wanted LaVar Burton, who was the absolute worst guest host. I’m willing to bet that everyone who hosted lately has said and done much worse than Richards. If Burton ends up with the job, I will seriously puke. Trebeck knew the show was about the contestants not the host.

One more scalp for the Twitterverse. No way were they going to let a straight white male host the show.
