The Silence of the Shepherds

Republican officials’ timidity with regard to the outrages that the Democratic Party is committing against the American people under the Biden Administration dampens the American people’s urge to resist. Their default of leadership helps the Democrats’ seizure of long-term oligarchic power. The people’s deep resentment, however, will follow whoever and whatever ventures offer protection. As ever, leadership falls to whomever actually leads.

Comments:

The author is always a must read, right up there with VDH. This is no exception as he details Republican inaction to the socialist assault on the country.

Elected Republicans are for the most part deaf, dumb and blind. Remaining on the “A” list on the cocktail circuit and strutting around like a pack of perfumed peacocks is more important than saving the country. I am totally confident they will blow the 2022 election - if we are still around to have one.

We had ONE leader make it to the White House and from that point on, the republicans either helped hound him incessantly or remained hiding under their desks while it happened. My own state senator calls herself a republican, but is so obsessed with getting into the good old boys club she would sell out her own mother to do it. I fear our experiment in self government has failed, and what replaces it will be far worse. We are seeing that now, with forced depopulation shots and more and more dire consequences (all man made) for those who dont comply.

If the Democrat Party is not actively trying to destroy this country, they are making one great job of doing it by mistake. For the last 12 years they have divided us. Divided us by race and financial ability. They fill the country with illegals, they try to disarm us, they cheat us in our elective offices and the Presidency, they IMO work with china to destroy the trump economy with a virus that killed many across the world. They put a mentally crippled old man and a California slut in the 2 biggest jobs in the country and have a crazy woman as Speaker of the House. And what have Republicans done to help? Fold up like a cheap suit.

Trump exposed them for what they are, spineless elites who cower under the orders from Pelosi and Schumer. Hypocrites who live in the squalid of the swamp. Their stench has far reaches and our enemies know it's rotting flesh. There will be no war because China and Russia see us rotting from within. Years of communist indoctrination coming to fruition. Pelosi, Schumer, Obama and the rest have sold the souls of their children and show no regret. Will this country ever wake up.

This article finally states what most Americans believe. We have been waiting for someone to publicly recognize the void in republican Leadership across the board. We can rally around that person who steps up and acts like the leader we need. Who will that be? When will he or she Rise tortilla this need. This essay Articulates the message, the urgency, and the belief we so badly seek to Restore, and to Save the American Dream.

When a Delaware Dummy like Biden gets support from 16 republican senators then the party is doomed and cowardice. I'm no longer a republican or claim all the Washington riff raff. The people that go along with democrats don't need support from me. If all the republicans including Mitch McConnell had condemned the monstrosity bill it would show a semblance of leadership but they didn't. We have no government just oligarch posers out for themselves and saving their own hides. America is on it's own with a brain dead dummy at the helm put there by fraud and theft of an election while republicans yawned and accepted it.

It is worse than silence. 17 Republicans have joined the Democrats in destroying this nation. Conservatives have about 10 representatives, no judges, nobody in the bureaucracy, nobody in the FBI or other agencies. We only have 2 Governors in Fla and Texas, despite having 26 Governorships. Republicans control most of the state legislatures, but only a couple of them do anything. Apparently, Republicans do not control any cities or school boards, or if they do, they do not do anything.

No, Codevilla is nowhere near Victor Davis Hanson. Codevilla is an academic who thinks he knows all about how our country should be run, but if you really read his rants he is always out to get President Trump. In this one he lumps President Trump with what he characterizes as “the talkers” who don’t get anything done. I do not trust Codevilla. I very much trust real American VDH.

Codevilla is right on the Congressional Republicans, but we didn’t need him to tell us that. He ignores Jordan, Nunez, Cotton, Scalise, Ratcliffe. And more. Ironically Codevilla is in his own ivory tower where he can send down criticism after criticism and never have to do a damned thing to make things better.

The author's thesis begs the question: Is it the timidity of the elected that drives the timidity of the electorate or is is the other way around? Notice the democrats have neither a timid electorate nor timidity among those elected.

The Republicans are as incompetent as the Democrats are corrupt. Trump was hated by both because he was a conservative who didn't curl up into the fetal position and whimper when criticized.

As we look at the disgraceful coda of the Global War on Terror and the tens of thousands of our countrymen who have been maimed or killed with scant results, it is clear to all but few (sadly, those few seem to occupy a lot of Defense Department jobs and think tank posts), there must be a better way to fight our wars. If we look to history, and even demands from the anti-war Left, we might find a better way forward.

"Have you or a loved one been hurt or injured by the Democrat Party?" That's the only question Republicans should run on radio and television ads from here on out. It's the same question civil litigators regularly use in late-night commercials when they're looking to add new members to class action lawsuits, but compared to asbestos poisoning, the side-effects of prescription medicines, or injuries from medical devices, the Democrats are the Grand Pooh-bahs of causing physical and emotional harm to everyday Americans.

The COVID pandemic has witnessed the exercise of state “police powers” on a scale and scope unprecedented in America’s peacetime history. Out of fear of contagion, massive amounts of private property in the form of shops, restaurants, bars, and other businesses were peremptorily seized and shuttered. The rights of landlords to collect rents and evict tenants were suspended. The ability of people to cross from one state to another was hobbled by regulations, quarantines, and delays. And most of this was accomplished by governors and mayors acting by decree, with only the most tenuous of statutory authorizations.

A manufactured panic over the January 6 rally has provided Biden and his flunkies with an excuse to attack the U.S. military. The Biden administration has implemented an effort to root out political "extremism" in the military in order to work toward a military with more 'diversity, equity, and inclusion', despite little evidence of any such extremists actually operating within the ranks:

Recent reports demonstrate a frightening willingness by Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley and other high-ranking generals to undermine President Trump during the final year of his administration. These efforts began with some grumbling about the use of the military to enforce law and order during the Black Lives Matter riots of last summer. They reached a fever pitch during the uncertain period between the election of 2020 and the inauguration of Joe Biden.  CORRECTION*

The Pentagon's wokester generals, such as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, have touted Critical Race Theory as the military's focus and a great success story.  The guy under him, though, didn't have such good news.  According to DefenseOne (hat tip: Mickey Kaus):  A brutal loss in a wargaming exercise last October convinced the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. John Hyten to scrap the joint warfighting concept that had guided U.S. military operations for decades."Without overstating the issue, it failed miserably. Despite the Taliban's long history of oppression of women and iron-fisted rule, U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price Monday urged Afghanistan's new leaders to form an inclusive government that had women in it. John R. Bolton says the calamitous U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan will go down in history as “the Trump-Biden policy.” Mr. Bolton, who served as former President Trump’s national security adviser, said in a Daily Telegraph op-ed that Mr. Biden’s approach to withdrawing troops from Afghanistan was “virtually indistinguishable from Donald Trump’s.” The former adviser, though, said Mr. Biden’s insistence that Mr. Trump left him with only two bad options—“follow Trump’s blueprint or else considerably increase US combat forces in Afghanistan”—is a “strawman argument” and “palpably false.” Mr. Bolton, who has been an outspoken Trump critic since he was pushed out of the White House

President Joe Biden delivered a speech of quiet fury at the White House on Monday, defending his decision to bring home U.S. troops before blaming Afghan leaders for their failure to prevent the country collapsing. 'I stand squarely behind my decision,' Biden said. 'After 20 years I've learned the hard way. That there was never a good time to withdraw U.S. forces.' It was the first time the president had spoken publicly about the unfolding crisis in six days. He was forced to return from Camp David amid hostile headlines about his absence from Washington while Americans were being rescued from Kabul airport.

Fauci said, “What’s coming next is that we are going to have to continue to get people vaccinated so that right now, even in states in which you have a good relative proportion of people vaccinated, you have to get the overwhelming proportion of people vaccinated. But you also have to do mitigation. And that gets to the controversial issue of mask-wearing and the mandating of things mandating of vaccines,

President Joe Biden will remain hidden at his presidential retreat at Camp David through Monday, according to the White House, as the Taliban swiftly seized control of Afghanistan. The president’s daily guidance for Monday indicated Biden would remain at Camp David for at least one more day, with no public events scheduled. But a senior administration official indicated to reporters Sunday evening that Biden might address the country “in the next few days,” according to reports. It remains unclear whether Biden will speak from Camp David or return to the White House to deliver his speech, the reports noted. He was previously scheduled to remain at Camp David until Wednesday.

Joe Biden and his media acolytes call him Mr. Empathy and Mr. Compassion. His Afghanistan speech yesterday told a different story, and should end that phony spin forever. My takeaway was how cold, and hard, and compassionless Biden was as he sought to extricate himself from the catastrophe of his own making. He blamed everyone but himself for his failure, particularly the Afghan army. He smarmily assured terrified Afghanis left behind he'd now speak out for their human rights instead of actually protect them. He effectively told U.S. servicemembers their service was for nothing. It was appalling.

Biden is a craven coward, a feckless fool, a dismal dummy, and a man who will soon have more blood on his hands than a thousand Lady Macbeths.
