Article IV of the Constitution addresses the obligations of the federal government to the state governments that were being asked to surrender aspects of their sovereignty to form our new Union.
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,” reads Article IV, “and shall protect each of them against Invasion.”
Late in the War of 1812, U.S. forces held Fort McHenry in Baltimore Harbor through a nightlong attack but failed to stop an invading British army at Bladensburg, which marched on to Washington (Snip)

One creative Sunnyside 17-year-old rolled out an eye-catching colorful folkloric-inspired dress for prom this year—made entirely out of duct tape.
The festive endeavor by Larissa Leon showcased her heritage, portraying the beauty of Chiapas couture, and won the $10,000 Grand Prize in the “Stuck at Prom” scholarship contest held by Duck Brand.
“I wanted to make something more meaningful than just a dress,” Larissa told The Epoch Times. “I wanted the dress to represent a part of me. I wanted to showcase the beauty of my culture.”

Please welcome the comedy team of Abbott and Kosato:
Kosato: “These are not Orympics. These are CANCERYMPICS.”
Abbott: “Olympics for people with cancer?”
Kosato: “NO! Not ‘cancerympics.’ CANCERYMPICS! Orympics for people who got cancered.”
Abbott: “That’s what I’m saying. Cancerympics.”
Kosato: “No, you brainress runatic. It’s the Orympics that’s more about canceration than sport.”
Abbott: “Ahhh, cancel-ympics. Indeed, old pal.”No Olympics in history has ever captured the zeitgeist of the day like Tokyo 2021. This is an event that will surely be remembered more for who went home than for who stayed.

“I don’t understand why people take only one wife,” Osama bin Laden would often say, in what was the nearest he ever came to a lighthearted quip. “If you take four wives, you live like a groom.” (Snip)the final clue was the clotheslines on the compound, which flapped each day with women’s garments, shalwar kameez worn by Pakistani men, children’s outfits and diapers — far more than the 11 members of the bodyguards’ families could ever wear.
The invisible inhabitants, according to the agents’ laundry calculations, had to include an adult man, several adult women, and at least nine children, a perfect fit for the polygamous patriarch they were

YouTube has temporarily suspended Sky News Australia from posting on its video platform, issuing a first strike to the popular conservative news channel over “COVID-19 misinformation,” according to a statement.
The tech giant said its decision to issue a strike was based on local and global health authority guidance, which Sky News Australia challenged are constantly “subject to change” alongside updates to guidance from the various authorities.
Sky News Australia added that the suspension was over “old videos” posted on its channel.

Nearly 400 children between the ages of 12 and 17 were diagnosed with heart inflammation after receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, according to a study published by the CDC on July 30.
The condition, also known as myocarditis, occurred mostly in young boys, the study found. Heart inflammation was not identified as an adverse reaction during the safety trials for the vaccine.
The CDC conducted the study by reviewing reports of adverse reactions to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) between Dec. 14, 2020, and July 16, 2021.
Of the 8.9 million children who received the vaccine as of July 16, VAERS received a total of 9,246 reports of adverse reactions,

Leana S. Wen, a physician and former Public Health Commissioner for the City of Baltimore, wrote a piece in the Washington Post demanding that we put on masks.
Her tone was such that I am sure the S stands for Sister Mary Elephant, the Catholic teacher Cheech and Chong mocked in the 1970s.
She took the kindergarten approach in threatening group punishment because a few people have exercised their right not to be vaccinated.

In the movie "Ghost Busters," Gozer commands them to choose the form of their destructor. They chose the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
We chose his brain.(snip)The problem with the Biden administration is not the Biden part but with the administration part. Jen Psaki is the face of the hacks and unemployable nephews who are running the show. As press secretary, she has somehow managed to p*** off the largest gathering of Marxist reporters since the Soviet Union fell.
Her performance is so poor that I wonder if that is the plan. Maybe Democrats tire of having their butts kissed. Lipstick-stained underwear is hard to explain to the wife. Ask Bill Clinton

WASHINGTON -- First lady Jill Biden underwent a medical procedure Thursday to flush out debris from a puncture wound on her left foot, her spokesperson said.
Michael LaRosa said Jill Biden's foot was punctured while she walking on a beach in Hawaii last weekend, but it was "unclear what object caused the puncture."
After the procedure at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, LaRosa said, "The wound is now clean, free of infection and it is anticipated that it will heal nicely."
President Joe Biden joined his wife at Walter Reed for the procedure. The Bidens returned to the White House Thursday night.

The only video Ashli Babbitt’s mom has seen of her daughter on January 6 is a clip of her walking from Donald Trump’s speech to Capitol Hill. “That brings me peace,” Micki Witthoeft, Ashli’s mom, told me by phone on Wednesday. “She was in her zone, so happy, having a great day.”
“Until that s**-of-a-b**** shot her.”
Nearly seven months after a United States Capitol Police officer shot Ashli Babbitt in the Capitol building on January 6, the government and subservient corporate news media still refuse to confirm the name of the federal officer who killed her. (Investigative journalist Paul Sperry recently reported the shooter likely is USCP Lt. Michael Byrd.)

The Delta variant is much more contagious, more likely to break through protections afforded by the vaccines and may cause more severe disease than all other known versions of the virus, according to an internal presentation circulated within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, the director of the agency, acknowledged on Tuesday that vaccinated people with so-called breakthrough infections of the Delta variant carry just as much virus in the nose and throat as unvaccinated people, and may spread it just as readily, if less often.

There are some practical steps we can take to get more out of life than what money can buy.“The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.” –Socrates
I had always loved to shop. A lot. I could spend a whole Saturday going from store to store without stopping. In fact, some of my earliest memories are of happily shopping the day away with my Grandma Wittebort in downtown Morgantown, West Virginia.
The roots run deep.
Macy’s, Dillards, Pottery Barn, Banana Republic, J.Crew—I frequented them all. In fact, I shopped at Anthropologie so often that the sales ladies greeted me by name,
