Leana S. Wen, a physician and former Public Health Commissioner for the City of Baltimore, wrote a piece in the Washington Post demanding that we put on masks. Her tone was such that I am sure the S stands for Sister Mary Elephant, the Catholic teacher Cheech and Chong mocked in the 1970s. She took the kindergarten approach in threatening group punishment because a few people have exercised their right not to be vaccinated.

Leana Wen was born in Shanghai, was educated here, and lives here, in our wonderful free country, enjoying the privileges her home country may never know. At the risk of sounding racist, I am disgusted by her lecturing us at all. Even more so because our current siege - the subject of her nasty rant - was caused by a dreadful virus also hatched in her home country. So, shut up, Leana...

Her bio is an interesting read. She and her parents came here when she was eight. Political asylum. Her education would have been a given. She was obviously bright so she maximized it. She also appears to lean very left in her affiliations and associations. She was president of Planned Parenthood. She did not try to stop their abortions, but tried to get them to deemphasize that image and promote female reproductive wellness. I still resent her hectoring. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leana_Wen

Happened to read this in an inspirational book last night: “When we force someone else to defer to us, we actually suck energy from the energy field of the other person in order to produce an energy boost in ourselves.” The larger point is that people have no core spirituality to satisfy their inner need, so controlling others is one way they “feed” themselves. Creepy, but it certainly explains a lot about today’s world.

Nearly 400 children between the ages of 12 and 17 were diagnosed with heart inflammation after receiving the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, according to a study published by the CDC on July 30. The condition, also known as myocarditis, occurred mostly in young boys, the study found. Heart inflammation was not identified as an adverse reaction during the safety trials for the vaccine. The CDC conducted the study by reviewing reports of adverse reactions to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) between Dec. 14, 2020, and July 16, 2021. Of the 8.9 million children who received the vaccine as of July 16, VAERS received a total of 9,246 reports of adverse reactions,

Dr. Rochelle P. Boy or girl? If it was up to the American Medical Association (AMA), not even parents would know. Once again revealing the organization’s highly politicized motives, the AMA said sex should be removed as a legal designation on birth certificates. “Designating sex on birth certificates as male or female, and making that information available on the public portion, perpetuates a view that sex designation is permanent and fails to recognize the medical spectrum of gender identity. This type of categorization system also risks stifling an individual’s self-expression and self-identification and contributes to marginalization and minoritization,” said AMA Board Chair-Elect Sandra Adamson Fryhofer, M.D.
