Twin sisters in Brazil have reportedly been fatally shot in the back of their heads in a horrific gang-related double execution that was livestreamed on Instagram. The 18-year-olds — both mothers named locally as Amália and Amanda Alves — were forced to kneel before being killed because they knew too much about a drug deal, the Sun reported, citing local media. The shocking footage of the murders behind a complex in Pacajus in the northeast state of Ceara has been viewed thousands of times, according to Brazilian news outlets.

Horrific. But there are many very violent, vicious people out there. Brazil is not a place I would visit.
A family member was an airline pilot, flew the NYC to Rio route for a while, about 20 years ago. I asked about 'tourist stuff' in Rio. The report was grim. Iponema Beach (from the song) was reported to stink to high heaven from the raw sewage pumped there, and literal t*rds rolling in the surf. Yikes. A city tour, which included views of their 'most magnificent soccer stadium' showed a run down, rusting industrial hulk covered with grafitti. It may be nicer inside, but very ugly outside. Overall, I was warned to stay away, and the pilot quit bidding on the Rio routes after a few months.
If you want to see cops shooting bad guys.... look for videos of Brazil. LOTS of extreme violence there. And often enough an off duty police officer happens to be where a thug starts a violent confrontation. Lots of 'shoot out' videos.

a lousy coffee crop is the least of Brazilian worries. Sadly, killed "because they knew too much" has become an acceptable rationale for ending someone's existence in much of the world. Central and South America are in our backyard and therefore cause us to shudder and shake our heads, but life in the Middle East is similarly valued.
Heck, life in most of our own big cities can be short and brutal.

Add two more victims - - to the 50+ year "War On Drugs."
If narcotic drugs were legal - - there would not be any drug cartels, or drug gangs, or drug murders, or drug corruption or trillions of wasted dollars. And there probably would be fewer drug addicts - - just as there have been fewer alcohol addicts since liquor prohibition was ended. But - - you've read this a hundred times in my posts - - and yet - - there are still L-Dotters who want to continue narcotic drug prohibition - - as if another 50 years would make things any better.
I'll never be able to understand that.

Biden is told "Brazilians were killed". He shakes his head, and with a somber look turns to Jill, and asks "How many in a Brazillion?"

In this country things like this have happened. Arkancide is standard practice for the Clintons. Epstein, Vince Foster, and others have had to be eliminated because they knew too much.

terrible, but drug killings are common everywhere. I have been to Brazil over 100 times in the last 40 years mostly for work... big cities, small towns, rural and farm areas in 8 different states, including Ceara. Granted Rio is a mess and has been for 20 years, and Salvador (I gorgeous colonial city) used to be bad, I never experienced or saw anything other than petty crime. Of course I stayed out of drug infested areas and away from gangs. I'm more nervous in Bill D's NYC now than I have been in Brazil, and I am from NYC and even speak the language !

Speaking of bad stuff going on in South America, a Peruvian-national college buddy is telling me via cryptic e-mail that the new Marxist president just installed there is no more legitimate than ours. Looking to get his family out as soon as possible, as he clearly sees Peru becoming the next Venezuela. (Probably wishes now that he hadn't divorced his American ex-wife.)

These poor girls murdered so cruelly at such a young age. I had no idea Brazil was in such a mess and veering towards becoming another Venezuela. I learn so very much here nearly every day.
