House Financial Services Committee Chairwoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) criticized the Declaration of Independence in a tweet on July 4th, suggesting it is a racist document because it was written almost 250 years ago, when there was slavery in the United States. She tweeted Sunday: July 4th… & so, the Declaration of Independence says all men are created equal. Equal to what? What men? Only white men? Isn’t it something that they wrote this in 1776 when African Americans were enslaved? They weren’t thinking about us then, but we’re thinking about us now!

Here's a lesson for you you stupid ignorrant harpy. Created equal means that we are all "technically" equal under the law. People are not equal. Period, full stop. Some people are productive and law abiding members of society, some are lawless, contribute nothing and are takers. These groups of people are only equal before the law. Let me ask you, you stupid cow. If you had to choose which life to save...... an upstanding member of society or a murderous pedophile, which would you choose? In fairness, our judicial system is no longer blind. The judicial system is reserved for the well connected or those that can afford it. Don't you wish that petty sow would learn some REAL history? Slavery is bad, it is a hardship, and you never ever get used to the rock in your show. Just ask the Jews who were held in slavery, real slavery for 400 years. If a generation is about 100 years, then none of the originals were alive when they last generation was liberated. of course people were thinking about slavery back then. there were Europeans being held in slavery, not only Africans. Everybody knows that. But Maxine Waters has no interest. Doing all she can to narrow her responsibilities so her limited experience and interests are enough. No need to actually know about slaves not of her color, or slaves held today that she might be responsible for doing something about.

She's too stupid to know that prior to that the governing doctrine of most countries was the ''divine right of Kings'' and hereditary monarchies. In the context of the times this was a great advance in the cause of human rights. She is also too stupid to understand that slavery has been a human practice since antiquity, Colonial Americans did not invent it. Every maritime nation in the Western Hemisphere was involved in the trans-Atlantic slave trade, and the West African Empires' economy was based on trading enslaved captives to the Europeans in exchange for weapons, manufactured goods, and gold. The mass of the slave trade, actually 95 percent, went to Spanish, Portuguese, and French colonies in South America and the West Indies. Only a relatively small amount, less than 5 percent, went to North America.

It's unfortunate that slavery ever existed but it was not unique to the United States. If all she's going to do is concentrate on the negative elements of the past, it makes for a very miserable person. Some of the people who fought in the War of Independence had descendants who fought in the Civil War to bring freedoms to all.

In the past few days, he strongly exhibited two symptoms: A type of belligerence that’s a cover-up for confusion and memory loss and a paranoid fear of those in charge of him. I used to spend a lot of time in the company of doctors. What always fascinated me were the tales they told of dealing with patients with early-stage dementia. The most interesting point they made was that elderly people, so as not to lose face or admit their own fears, are superb at deflecting the questions aimed at assessing their cognitive skills and memory.
