President Biden called on governors and local leaders to reinstate coronavirus-related mask mandates during a White House briefing Monday, before announcing several other vaccine-related directives.
"I’m reiterating my call for every governor, mayor and local leader to maintain and reinstate the mask mandate," Biden said. "Please, this is not politics, reinstate the mandate if you let it down."
The call follows actions taken by several states to lift mask requirements earlier this month and ease business restrictions, such as Texas and Mississippi, which drew sharp criticism amid early-stage vaccine rollouts and the spread of highly transmissible coronavirus variants.

ALBANY — Every New Yorker age 16 and older will soon be eligible for vaccination, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced Monday.
The governor said people ages 30 and up will become eligible for vaccination starting Tuesday at 8 a.m. People 16 and up will become eligible starting next Tuesday, April 6, he said. “Today we take a monumental step forward in the fight to beat COVID-19. Beginning March 30, all New Yorkers age 30 or older will be able to be vaccinated, and all New Yorkers age 16 or older will be eligible on April 6, well ahead of the May 1 deadline set by the White House," Cuomo said.

On Monday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released some of the first real-world evidence that mRNA vaccines are 90% effective at preventing COVID-19 infections, even asymptomatic cases.
The CDC study, released Monday in the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, featured data from nearly 4,000 first responders and frontline workers in the US who received the vaccines between December and March and self-tested weekly for infection after their vaccinations.
The new study found that two weeks after receiving the first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer or Moderna, recipients were about 80% protected from infections. Getting both doses offered about 90% protection against COVID-19.

A new report documents that private foundations spent more than $36 million to pay local election offices in Texas to alter policies and practices in the 2020 election. The money was overwhelmingly spent in solid Democratic strongholds and designed to maximize turnout in these Biden-leaning jurisdictions. The money was concentrated in Dallas, Houston, Austin, and the Rio Grande Valley, according to a new report.
The Public Interest Legal Foundation, with which I am associated, reviewed the grant letters and other government documents executed between Texas county election officials and the Center for Technology for Civic Life, a nonprofit that poured over $350 million nationwide into government election offices in order to

The Biden administration is desperately trying to prevent the American people from realizing the extent of the fiasco at our Southern border. Thus, loyal Democrat Chris Wallace this morning criticized Biden, pointing out that the Trump administration was more transparent.
The Biden administration has repeatedly tried to prevent photos and videos of conditions at the border from reaching the American people. Late last week, a delegation of 18 senators visited the border, in particular the Donna, Texas facility that has been the center of the crisis. The Biden administration sent a political operative (as described by Senator Ted Cruz) to try to block Cruz from filming the Donna disaster:

Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) said during an appearance on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Saturday that he met with a bipartisan group of local leaders at the southern border on Friday who told him the “practical ramifications” of the ongoing immigration crisis “are unbearable.”
Braun along with 17 of his Senate colleagues had traveled to the border this week and witnessed crisis conditions firsthand, including a cramped federal facility in Donna, Texas, that held primarily unaccompanied alien children (UACs) and exceeded capacity limits while forgoing what have become common coronavirus social distancing and quarantining policies for Americans.

As we previously reported, President Donald Trump said this weekend that he might go to the border since Joe Biden didn’t seem to be addressing the border crisis; that he’s been asked by folks in the CBP and ICE to go to the border.
Biden hasn’t gone to the border and, in the past, when asked if he would go, has just blown off the question without any direct responses, downplaying the whole thing.
Today, he was asked about Trump’s remarks about going to the border — did he think that Trump going would be productive, and did he, Biden, have any thoughts

New York and New Jersey now have the highest rates of COVID-19 infection in the country.
The Empire State has averaged 548 cases for every 100,000 residents over the past 14 days — only surpassed by the Garden State with 647 cases.
Despite vaccination efforts, New York has not seen a dramatic reduction in infections. Daily cases have averaged about 50,000 people per week since mid-February.
And across the Hudson River in New Jersey, the number of new infections has climbed by 37 percent in a little more than a month, to about 23,600 every seven days.

The crisis at the border has deepened to levels not imaginable just a year ago. Even at the height of the surge that took place under former President Donald Trump, things were never this out of control. With the weakness of the current administration, and their priority being to appeal to their left flank, there’s no end in sight either. CBP and ICE are completely overwhelmed.
In response, Donald Trump made an announcement today that he’s planning to go to the border in the next few weeks. Excerpts via The Blaze.

Joe Biden isn’t with it, and that includes his breakdowns of major pieces of legislation. One such new law involved a series of election reforms in the State of Georgia. You’ll probably recall the absolute chaos that was the vote-counting in that state during the last election, with most of that chaos happening in heavily blue areas around Atlanta.
Regardless, because Democrats need to make political hay out of everything, they’ve decided to relentlessly lie about the law.
Here are Biden’s comments, and then we’ll get to the debunking.

Baltimore City State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby says the city will no longer prosecute for prostitution, drug possession and other low-level offenses.
Mosby made the announcement on Friday following her office's one-year experiment in not prosecuting minor offenses to decrease the spread of Covid-19 behind bars.
"Today, America's war on drug users is over in the city of Baltimore. We leave behind the era of tough-on-crime prosecution and zero tolerance policing and no longer default to the status quo to criminalize mostly people of color for addiction, said Mosby in an official press release. The experiment, known as The Covid Criminal Justice Policies

The Minnesota Supreme Court overturned the conviction of a man who picked up a woman outside a bar, took her home, and had sex with her. Under state law, since the woman drank the alcohol willingly, the man could not be charged with 3rd-degree criminal sexual misconduct.
The judges said the man could be charged with a gross misdemeanor — 5th-degree sexual conduct. The difference is that the 3rd-degree assault charge carries a sentence of 15 years in prison while the misdemeanor would put the man in jail for 1 year.
Naturally, many women are outraged at the Minnesota Supreme Court. In this case, the judge’s hands had been tied
