A politicized US military should horrify all Americans

During the last administration it was hard to go a week or even a day without someone decrying a supposedly appalling “attack” on members of the press by President Donald Trump. These assaults largely consisted of Trump objecting to loaded questions and other gasbaggery from members of the fourth estate. We expect politicians with partisan agendas to spar with journalists. Not so much members of the armed forces speaking in their official capacity, which is what happened last week after Tucker Carlson of Fox News dared to comment about the role of women in the military. The Second Marine Expeditionary Force responded with a snotty, childish tweet

The dirtbag marine should have been court martialed and given a dishonorable discharge. What a disgrace to the marine corps.

What is happening is that the military politicians are following along with what the civilian politicians in charge of the Congress and the White House these days are telling them to do. As they do not want to be relieved of their duties and be removed from the military, as so many others were during the Obama-Biden era.

History also shows such behavior can invite a counter coup within the ranks that over throws the brass as well as the rulers. Another lesson all of dem fail to understand. "They forget nothing, they learn nothing."

Nothing horrifies Americans except the thought of losing their big homes and fancy cars. Americans have done nothing about the take over of the education system by radical Leftists. Americans have done nothing about the government turning Left at full speed ahead. Americans have done nothing about the cops obeying their Leftist bosses and going after the Right and leaving the Left alone. Americans have done nothing about the military being used to protect the insane politicians. There is no one left that the American people can depend on to save them. Americans ignored the take over. hoping someone else would solve the problems. Now it is up to the American people to fight for themselves, or cower behind a mask. I have little faith in the American people, the same ones afraid to put up a DT for POTUS sign in their yard, to fight the good fight. That is what horrifies me.

Some supported the appointment of Mad Dog Mattis as Secretary of Defense...retired general, part of the cabal. We had a cornerstone of civilian control. Like everything else, government institutions see politics and political action as a way to expand the mission reach and budget. They are led by administrators who head the professional bureaucrats who control the agency, often coming with ties to the agency and its powers. Something as innocent as the National Weather Service is a good example, between climate change and hurricanes/disaster. Follow the science...

Editor’s Note: In the wake of the January 6 Capitol riot, the Biden administration ordered the U.S. Navy to stand down its global operations and subject all members to what it characterizes as training to recognize and combat”extremism.” The piece below was written by an active duty military member who has about 20 years of service. This member has been deployed overseas in the war on terrorism multiple times. The piece describes the Navy’s “extremism stand-down,” what it includes, and what it leaves out. Ted Mahan is not the member’s real name. Recently, my Navy unit held an “extremism stand-down” training that was required

Demi Lovato's new documentary, Dancing With the Devil, opens with a warning: "This documentary contains raw and honest discussions about addiction, eating disorders, sexual abuse and mental health. It may be triggering for some." That warning is earned. Directed by Michael D. Ratner, the four-part series, which premiered at this year's SXSW Film Festival and arrives on YouTube on March 23, features the singer opening up about her 2018 overdose, her past — and current — drug use and a bombshell #MeToo story she's kept hidden for decades. Understanding the military’s attack on Tucker Carlson 10 replies

The U.S. military is pushing woke, “social justice” leftism. Given the importance of this push, its otherwise bizarre attack on Tucker Carlson is not difficult to understand. Let’s step back for a moment. The left has been marching through America’s institutions for decades. The media was in the vanguard. Universities were captured easily. Corporations fell without much resistance. The military is a tougher nut to crack, but its leaders are drawn from a pool not that different from those who run universities and corporations, and these leaders crave approval from the same elites. Universities sometimes select presidents from the military brass.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday encouraged his Republican supporters -- one of the main groups resistant to Covid-19 vaccines -- to get their shots. "I would recommend it," Trump said during an interview on Fox News. "I would recommend it to a lot of people that don't want to get it and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly," he said. "It's a great vaccine, it's a safe vaccine and it's something that works." This was Trump's most explicit endorsement for the national mass vaccination campaign since he left office in January.

I can’t understand how anyone involved in this thought it was a good idea but it’s not the first time lately that the military has bent the rules against service members playing politics while in uniform in order to embarrass a populist Republican. The Marine Corps had to apologize for unprofessional behavior a few days ago when one of its social-media accounts started snarking at Tucker Carlson for wondering why pregnant women are allowed to serve. The Pentagon went so far as to issue a press release responding to Carlson with the clickbait-y headline, “Press Secretary Smites Fox Host That Dissed Diversity in U.S. Military.” A Twitter pal recently observed

Georgia elections officials said their description of a much-scrutinized phone call between Donald Trump and a top investigator wasn’t meant to be presented as a “word-for-word transcript” after a recording of the call revealed the former president was misquoted. Deputy Secretary of State Jordan Fuchs told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Tuesday that the office’s initial report about the conversation between Trump and Frances Watson, the chief investigator, relied on Watson’s recollection. A recording of the conversation, located on a trash folder in Watson’s email account during an open records request, was released last week. It revealed that Trump told Watson she would find “dishonesty” if she scrutinized absentee ballots in Fulton County

He later criticized his handling of the February winter storm that left millions of Texans without power and water. That has fueled speculation that O’Rourke is all but in the governor’s race, even though he’s just as likely to opt against the underdog campaign. “It’s very hard for us to recruit candidates right now,

On Monday, conservatives were outraged when the Washington Post, in a teeny little paragraph appended to a major story from January, admitted that the core of the story was a lie based upon false quotations. I find myself surprisingly unmoved. First, this is par for the course for the modern Pravda media. Second, as long as there are no consequences, and there never are, it's irrelevant that the Washington Post behaved in a morally corrupt, fraudulent way. This example of moral turpitude from the Washington Post began on January 9.
