The Washington Post has issued a correction to a January 9 story in which it claimed that then-President Donald Trump had told a Georgia state elections investigator to “find the fraud.” In fact, an audio recording showed Trump said no such thing.
The Post‘s original article was headlined: “‘Find the fraud’: Trump pressured a Georgia elections investigator in a separate call legal experts say could amount to obstruction.” It relied on information from a single anonymous source, described as “an individual familiar with the call who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the conversation.”

Reports from local news outlets in Midland, Texas, reveal busloads of migrant children being moved under the cover of darkness into a local holding facility. State and local officials received little or no advance notice of the federal government’s plans to move these migrant children into their community.
“On Sunday, Governor Greg Abbott announced that the federal government planned to move some children from the border to a holding facility in Midland,” (Snip). “The migrants arrived in buses overnight.”(Snip) Sunday, Governor Greg Abbott(Snip) “We got surprise news, at 9:30 last night, from the federal HHS that they’re going to be sending some of these migrants to a holding facility

President Joe Biden’s policies are fueling a crisis at the southern border that endangers American citizens, puts the lives of unaccompanied children at risk, and fuels sex trafficking, a group of GOP lawmakers declared Monday.
Led by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), the congressional delegation, including some of the top Republicans on committees with jurisdiction over America’s southern international boundary, traveled to a section of the U.S.-Mexico Border in Texas. (Snip) GOP lawmakers addressed the Hispanic-American community in English and Spanish, telling them that President Biden’s immigration policies hurt Latinos.

Dr. Marty Makary of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine was bold in his projection that we’ll have herd immunity by April. This has been disputed by those who are nowhere near his level of expertise when it comes to public health, but I get the pushback since it shreds the Democratic Party’s COVID lockdown regime. In an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal, Makary says that we’re underestimating natural immunity and with the pace of vaccinations, we’ll reach that critical benchmark towards reclaiming normality by tax season. (Snip) Good health news should be disseminated, not buried. There was pushback, and there will be more when he recently wrote about the

At what point did our society hand over our lives to government bureaucrats?
Over this past year, it surely has seemed that we have done that, with so much of society being dictated to, not only by those bureaucrats, but by seemingly arbitrary rules that they then imposed like a religion and upon which then, so many policy decisions were then based. All based on one virus, (Snip)
We saw “guidance” from Dr. Anthony Fauci change from masks not being necessary in March of 2020 to, most recently, him saying double masking was likely better. (Snip)

Last Thursday, President Joe Biden was allowed out of his protective bubble to deliver a nationally televised address to the nation. This was big news in Washington, as Biden has been in hiding since taking office. Normally a new president spends his first few weeks in office making the rounds, chatting with the media, and doing what amounts to a victory lap around Washington. Biden has not done any of that.
Even though the American media is stuffed to the gills with toadies and rumpswabs, there is always the chance one of them accidentally asks him a real question. Worse yet, there is the chance he tries to answer.

When a high school athlete and his first love, a cheerleader, were separated by circumstances, they had far more to contend with than their broken hearts as the then-teen girl was pregnant and had given the baby up for adoption.
Fifty years later, that very same baby—now a mom of two named Laura Mabry—would meet her birth parents, Joe Cougill and Donna Horn, for the very first time, and in doing so would bring the high school sweethearts back together.

It is disappointing that the wave of national revulsion that must be rising up from the depths of American public opinion has not broken over the heads of the cancelers, statue-defacers, bigots, defamers of American history, and secular iconoclasts. Official committees in various cities, such as San Francisco and Chicago, recommend taking the names of Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and other great American statesmen off schools (where teachers refuse to give up their paid vacations and go back to generally under-educating and often deliberately misinforming their students) and other public buildings. The waves of censorship are lapping at the feet of Shakespeare. Can the Bible

“Biden Tells Nation There Is Hope After a Devastating Year.”
“Hopeful Biden Says, ‘I Need You.’”
“Biden Sets Vaccine Goal That Would Allow Americans To Gather By July 4.”
These headlines, from the covers of the printed New York Times, LA Times, and Boston Globe, greeted Americans Friday morning, 51 days into the Biden presidency and a full year into the beginnings of America’s long lockdown experiment.
“Seven Takeaways From Biden’s Prime-Time Address” topped CNN’s site. Chris Cillizza’s first two “takeaways”? “Donald Trump dug the hole” was number one. Number two? “A return to empathy.” Chris Cillizza, it’s worth noting, is a 45-year-old man and does not

Just about the first thing Lloyd Austin did after being confirmed as Joe Biden’s Secretary of Defense was to issue a service-wide order mandating a one-day “stand down” within sixty days to “address extremism within the nation’s armed forces.” “What extremism?”(Snip)
the trouble with the U.S. Armed Forces is not political extremism but the enervating rust of political correctness. As Victor Davis Hanson has shown, the upper echelons of the U.S. military were purged by Barack Obama. (Snip)

The polling, most especially out of Britain — or is it “England” or “Great Britain”? — has made it pretty clear that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s weekend appearance with Billionaire Race-Hoaxer Oprah Winfrey was a big mistake.
You can see the polling here, here, and here. But it is these numbers that are the most telling of just how badly this interview backfired:
A new YouGov poll, released on Friday, revealed that following the couple’s Oprah Winfrey interview, the couple has fallen very much out of favour with the British public.(Snip) Harry and Meghan damaged themselves with the general public. A ton of goodwill, especially towards Harry, has been squandered.

What do frontline health care workers and first responders know about COVID-19 vaccines that politicians and their public health advisers don’t?
According to a January analysis by Gallup, 51 percent of health care workers and first responders polled in December were unconvinced of the merits of getting vaccinated, even if the vaccine “was free, available, FDA approved and 90% effective.”
Gallup found these results especially concerning since those at highest risk of exposure to COVID-19—the professionals required to meet America’s health, safety, and critical economic needs whom the National Academies of Engineering, Science and Medicine define as “Tier 1A workers”—were the likeliest to refuse vaccination (34 percent).
